  • andy andy andy!!!

  • This is definitely one of the best Police songs..

  • I've never heard this before. I can't believe I've been in the dark so long about such an awesome song...

  • Fuerza Cerati.

  • @jj5124 y porfavor que despierte ya <3 .

  • My favorite Police album. Every song killer and singular. Brilliant. Peace!

  • I love sting.... son much *_*

  • I LOVE The Police and I LOVE this song.

  • TEMON!!!

  • underestimated at the time of release, now 30 years later its great so many people recognise this as one of the Police's finest songs. Andy sublime, Stewart makes up his own beats and drives the whole thing, Sting in best voice. Remarkable band - and from England. Be proud.

  • This song touch my inner I

  • Yes..and yes again..heard all this stuff as a kid..didnt realise how good it was..miss gradenko should have been no1...too much information..have you heard that track!...

  • I could pause @ 00:26 then replay those 26 seconds over and over and over, then let it play by itself. This is Magnificent.

  • This beginning makes me rethink Fleetwood mac's white winged dove as a ripoff

  • @virginb0ner Please...

  • I can't count the number of times I've danced to this song, listened to it, fallen asleep to it. Sublime...

  • Waddy Watchel admitted he stole this intro from Andy Summers for Edge of Seventeen, admitting he didnt used the fuzz and effects that the Police used that he just played the shit!

  • Temazo

  • AT THE END OF THE DAY LOVE THIS SONG

  • AT THE END OF THE DAY LOVE THIS SONG

  • Killer tune. My band and I are going to Mash up this tune with Fleetwood Mac's - White winged Dove' tune..you can hear it can't you???

  • @Canadasinger75 stevie nicks, edge of seventeen

  • It's certainly my favorite song of the band ...

  • God this takes me back then -

working short-term contracts for needed pay days, drinking away the nights, sleeping away the days.

I always played this on the way to the pubs and clubs - youth is MEANT to be wasted on the young !!

  • @inathome Amen.

  • traeme la noche, no puedo estar despierto mas sin verla..

  • @carlos50707 no puedo soportar una hora mas de la luz del dia...

  • this song is one of the reasons The Police were and are one of the best bands period!!!!

  • Pfft, 11 dislikes get the hell out of here it's probably Justin Bieber lovers with no life! LOVE YOU STING!!! <3 Great song like all the rest!!!

  • so... how did Stevie Nicks get away with ripping this riff off completely ;)

  • @Taffsmanlive yes, a complete rip off. There weren't even subtle changes. I guess she thought her voice would cover it up or maybe she'd never heard of The Police.

  • This is literally the most beautiful song in the universe

  • TO GOD GREAT SONG DRIVES ME CRAZY

  • Sorry (!), I meant Stewart's kick peddle....

  • Anyone out there get "faked out" by the intro/verse, so that you're exactly one eighth note off until the chorus comes in (when you then realize you've been tapping the wrong beat)? During the opening, then, when you hear Andy's kick peddle come in, it feels syncopated (except that it's really squarely on beats 2 and 4). Any thoughts and/or links to articles/web sites discussing this would be greatly appreciated!!

  • @ndhesse Yeah! I always noticed that too. It's pretty awesome.

  • Bring on the Night is the most beautiful song of The Police. I love the guitar on it. We can listen to this guitar line also at the beginning of the movie of Sting's debut solo career Bring on the Night filmed in Paris. My first sting concert ....such a long time ago...

  • Bring on the night, and everything else that comes with it, memories of a most amazing youth, how quick it passed.............

  • i need the night...

  • dal liceo alla mezza età ... e ancora e ancora...

  • stopped by the fuzz the other day, asked me if i had a police record.quick to reply i said walking on the moon.

  • @forestgumpaed hehehehe

  • in incredible album produced by hugh padgham,it turned out to be a multi million seller along with otlandos damour .

  • I love the police saw them live 20 years ago. I am an artist. This is one of the reasons I wanted to sing and perform. Love the beat, the voice, and the amazing guitar solo. Love love it. Make me feel high with out any drugs but music.

  • I hate the police, but I love The Police :)

  • Like all great bands The Police tunes stil stack up decades later sound virtually as fresh as the day they were released, absolutely love this tune, it's all good especially Andy Summers' solo, electrifying.

  • Copeland...amazing chimeric mix w/Andy!

  • the beginning sounds like a jumbled mess to me.

  • @maroonoasis IDIOT

  • awesome

  • so here we have a song relegated to 'B' side that has more substance than all the dross in todays top 100 chart.

  • @kingarshavin Totally agree with you ! :)

  • @kingarshavin Well said!

  • @kingarshavin To bloody right there

  • My favourite Police track, absolute classic.

  • DIOS QUE TEMAZO MITICO DE POLICE MAGNIFICO E INIGUALABLE TODO EL LLENO DE FUERZA

  • all my friends think im strange, because i admire real music like the police, diar straits, guns n roses, ect. all the cracker jack rave shite they listen to has no meaning, this is true music right here

  • @liamgray2011 haha dairy straits

  • Just like the white-winged dove sings the... oh wait this is The Police.

  • I came here coz wikipedia said the guitarist who played the AWESOME riff on Stevie Nicks "Edge of Seventeen",came up with riff from listening to this song, and i can tell the similarities. This is a good song, too. =)

  • I can only guess that 10 people were enjoying this song so much that they somehow ended upside down and thought they were clicking like.

  • Me gusta un poquito más el cover de cerati.

  • @columbiars zii verdad esta como qe mas Chida aunqe no deja de estar biien un clasico!! :D

  • Cerati, Summers and Colaiuta upgrade this song to his highest level, its perfect and better than the original version...

  • best fuckin song ever

  • The Police has to be one of the greatest 3-man bands of all time

  • great song memories

  • la raja¡¡¡¡

  • when it comes to these guys, together... I really don't think "genius" is an overstatement.

  • lweghkbvñasvbñshjvhb slBDJKVB`sruhv ñsjvdbhfd+

  • my god, all these years later, and it still sounds fresh. The entire album is fantastic, but this is certainly the highlight.

  • une chanson parfaite comme sting et ses potes ont pu en écrire d'autres. Je les aime tant

  • @gabie33luz ils manquent...

  • @gabie33luz ils manquent...

  • This is the quintessential Reggae song !

  • High-hat for the win.

  • mmmmm cerati c la rifo haciendo este cover el dio su toke algo asi como con mas guitarra ysio lucir esta cancion al 100

  • The Police are a great band. They belong with the likes of Yes, Rush, Led Zeppelin, and other great bands.

  • anoher great song by The Police...!!!!!

  • This song is incredible

  • @stratocaster1986able a masterpiece

  • Sting knew how to write a fuckin' song. Damn...

  • @gorfjorf2112112 The eloquence just rolls off your tongue .

  • Only 203,541 views! I can't believe it. This is one of the best Police songs from the time that they were at their best. Bring back memories of good times in the early 80's

    Oh to be young again!

  • Summers and the drummer were underrated. Excellent muscians.

sting, stewart and andy masters of masters!!!!

  • In my opinion one of their all time classics. Such a great feeling to hear this song over and over again.

  • Said it once and I'll say it again--brilliant. Incredible orchestration; just beautifully beautifully put together. . . the sentiment is there and it moves through the music like a ghost. Few pieces of music evoked emotion in me like this one. Spanic's version is a classy tribute and the haunting quality is still there despite the difference in genre.

  • I wonder how many takes Andy took to get tat feedback perfect? AWESOME song! Stew is a GOD!

  • An amazing cover ...

  • 10 people would rather be in the daylight.

  • @VeigerSchimon lmao... hilarious

  • o u ate i too ... \../

  • i like it

  • i like it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow already 30 years past me by, Excellent Tune, Loved it back in my drinking days. 5*

  • This sounds similar to that Stevie Nicks song...

  • @SuperLowlander edge of seventeen

  • @MetalMaskMilitia I know thanks.

  • @MetalMaskMilitia Kinda sounds like Eye of the Tiger too. Funny that both of those came out in '82

  • @SuperLowlander : If Stevie Nicks can play the guitar like Andy Summer plays in this song then I will say that maybe a second of this song would sound like Nicks.

  • Life is such a great place to be when you hear tunes like these

  • aries4961: I think you are talking about Masoko Tanga. It is on their first album Outlandos D'amour--last track, first side, I think. It's been awhile. I used to listen to it on a turntable on long summer nights when I was a teen in the 80s. Great music, it shows that all of the 80s wasn't synthesizer fluff. Real New Wave and Real Punk (not NIrvana or Green Day) from 1977 to about 1983. Then the synth stuff came in.

  • The guitar riff that repeats throughout the song reminds me of the sound of rain at night... I do not know why.

  • Heard this once rounding high bluffs on The Big Island of Hawai'i. What a treat.

  • i need 2 no what is the name of the song on this album when Sting sounded like he was just adding lib & making up lyrics: " don nobod no what u dun ok" but the music is booming, good good stuff. somebody plz email me & let me no. i am drawing a blanc.

  • cool song - listened to it properly first time last night, love the drumming, the chords in the verses esp and of course sting's vocals

  • shit sting composes very deep stuff like:shape of my heart

  • il giro in chitarra è uno pezo mitico sembra facile ma invece è molto da sudare

  • One of the best song written by the Police, one of the greatest new wawe group, after Depeche Mode, the greatest of all

  • One of the best song written by the Police, one of the greatest new wawe group, after Depeche Mode, the greatest of all!

  • Zenyatta Mondatta was a bit of a disappointment IMHO. Reggatta is the top of the pile

  • Bring it on...waiting for tommorrow...

  • Great song and guitar from 2:19-2:56 Love it loud driving on 17...

  • great guitar at 2:29 to 2:26 Love this song...

  • how can you call this typical? do you think of the words you use? granted, we are both fans, but to call this song typical?...

  • how can you call this typical? do you think of the words you use? granted, we are both fans, but to call this song typical?...

  • Definitely a favorite of mine!

  • Definitely my favorite of The Police masterpieces : especially the mysterious intro, the guitar start and its never ending spiraling melody, the reggae style chorus, the determined bass solo at 2:29 followed by a crazy crying guitar

  • afternoon has gently passed me by....

  • Stevie Nicks used this intro for her "Edge of Seventeen" song.

  • @RowdyGirl45 For real? Now that you've pointed that out..I think you're spot-on...holy shit!

  • Punk morphing to New Wave. The edgy bridge between 70s disco and 80s synth music. This was our sound as teens then. The time was the fallout from the 60s and 70s drug era and sexual revolution. Society had been turned upside down and there seemed no way to set it right again. This music exemplifies the angst about rampant societal nihilism, excess, right wing politics and the Second cold war. This is a song about a murderer's last moments alive. It's seething with existentialistic hopelessness

  • Sting is a sociopath swinger but he sure wrote some great music !

  • @LordGandor3 sociopath? swinger?

  • @hazelrozepugs Google sting is a swinger & read the article on sting & his wife Trudie. Also a friend of mine who hung out with the jetset saw him with playmates all over him He is a dog & dogs like Charlie Sheen are sociopathic. I`m not saying they`re criminal they`re just self absorbed but very talented

  • @LordGandor3 Define sociopathic then.

  • @LordGandor3 Your just jealous of all that tail. And hey, whats wrong with a guy having a little fun? And taking the best drug ever, Charlie Sheen. In all seriousness, Charlie Sheen has probably snapped.

  • @hiyapoeple1 Dude I was 18 in 1981, not trying to brag but I sowed my crazy oats & then some . Sting never out grew it . I have been monogamous for 15 yrs & I`m happy with my woman . One of our songs is My one & only love performed by.... You guessed it, Sting

  • 09Marcelm has a mom as cool as that song...

  • I love this song...

  • WACK ASS STING WITH HIS FAKE ETHNIC ACCENT

  • Stands the test of time.

For a trio these have to be the most talented 'popular gendre' ever.

  • This song rocks completely....it flutters along then throws you head first into this amazing reggae beat and back again...genius

  • I saw The Police in 1978 for $1, cost of admission, at a small college in Pa....I still reminisce, and find it incredible......

  • @09Marcelm I saw YOUR MOTHER in 1978 for $1, cost of admission, at a small PEEP-SHOW in Pa....I still reminisce, and find it incredible......

  • @thincow12 she remembers you, unbelievably small peep, that was useless, said it reminded her of a thin cow......she is still available, but it will cost you $10 these days.....

  • @09Marcelm Kudos, 2 points for a reversal. lol

  • @thincow12 cheers! peace man.......
