  • I remember watching this anime back when I was a little girl. I've wanted to watch it again for years now, but untill today I couldn't remember the name of it. I always remembered this song though. It's beautiful melody will be engraved in my mind forever.

  • When I was a little boy, I visited my uncle in America. There, I saw Outlaw Star in Toonami. I understanded little from the plot, because my native language isn't english, but I remember, that I loved this music at the end of the show. I tried to find this song on the net later, but I've forgot the name of the show... 10 years passed, and now, accidentally I run into it. I can't describe how I epic feel myself now! 10 years, and still, this song can make my eyes wet!

  • It really hurt's me when kid's these day's say your old and what's toonami damm TRAGIC HOW FLY'S SO FAST BUT IM FUCKING PROUD OF MY 90'S -2001 CHILDHOOD ROT IN HELL TO ANYBODY WHO HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THE 90'S AN TOONAMI !!!!!!!!!!!

  • The English version of this song is excellent as well. Both artists do an amazing job.

  • Damn I remember this when I come back from school, take a nap watch toonami after toonami play some dreamcast til toonami midnight run goes on, then after midnight runs over, go to sleep and repeat the same process over again. Good ole times ^_^

  • the lyrics to this song make it even more beautiful, ahh, one of the many great animes that defined my childhood.

  • I watched this when it first came out in toonami and i forgot it, but i always hummed this melody and my friend showed me the song one day and im like what the hell where is this from and she told me lol

  • @CelticFairyBox Always hummed it but could never find it...lol...love this song

  • I'm a grown as man, and yet a tear comes to my eye whenever I hear this song.

  • When I was in 9th grade, I loved this song. Our school had a talent show at the end of the year, I remember the teacher announcing ''Here is Kelli singing a japanese song called Hiro no Tsuki(she didnt pronounce it right...)'' and i remember getting on stage. The crowd was staring at me and I could hear giggling and laughter. The song started and I began singing, suddenly everyone got extremely quiet and the music echoed through the auditorium. Brings back memories...<3

  • Brings back Memories. Back in school, would have to set up VCR to record this, Sailor Moon, DBZ & Tenchi Muyo I think. If I had had bad days at school, the watching of these Anime would make me forget about those problems. Oh, and I had a crush on Aisha Clan-Clan. I like cats & catgirls. XD

  • I swear, they should've made Toonami into it's very own channel.

  • Aaaah such wonderful memories. Oh Toonami why did you have to leave?! :(

  • My favorite cartoon. When I first saw it, I thought it was dud. Watched the first episode and was an instant favorite. I love the music in this series.

  • 11 years ago was a great year for animi, i remember watching DBZ and this on tv in England, now tv is rubish and new animi dont intrest me no where near as much, code gease was the last great animi i watched

  • i miss this show... :( i need to buy the DVD's if I can!

R.I.P. Toonami! man... i miss Toonami!

  • @IndiaStarr Ijust got the whole box set at best buy

  • At the end of Toonami's final airing, the host, TOM ended the block with a brief, final monologue“ Well, this is the end, beautiful friends. After more than 11 years, this is Toonami's final broadcast. It's been a lot of fun, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you who made this journey with us. Toonami wouldn't have been anything without you. Hopefully we've left you with some good memories. So, until we meet again, stay gold. Bang. ”

Until we meet again space cowboy. RIP Toonami MNR

  • music is even better when you're spooning with your better half

  • Back when anime fans watched more than just Bleach and Naruto...

  • I used to have a decent woman long ago that sung this very song to me during those cold late nights in bed. Then I left her for the STUPIDEST reason ( I was young)... yep, Im such an idiot X0

  • R.I.P Toonami.

  • this song used to scare the hell out of me as a child

  • @linkseasonmaster ty for ur kind words ^^

  • 昼の月は私の事だ…。

  • I loved this series! ^_^

  • "One soundless mid-day,

    the wind was so cheerful.

Flower petals sway in the breeze

    as if they were sleepy."

  • I just settled my baby son to sleep with this song, and it hit me later in the day when I was playing again how much i loved this anime when I was a teen but how I fantastised about this song and how much it was a lullaby for a child, living the dream now I guess, crazy looking back and remembering that now but the song is still a success and relax's both of us.

  • Man, the bass line in this song is amazingly smooth.

  • This song... I dont understand a single word, yet it fills me with a feeling I simply cannot find elsewhere. A sad longing for something words dont seem capable of expressing. The Anime was very well done as well, all around, I am glad I was privileged to grow up watching Outlaw Star.

  • This is straight nostalgia

  • @sbtg728 yup

  • Ahhhh this is one of the lost gems in anime.

  • @Talonusx2 lost gems? get the fuck out.

  • @958933 Lemme guess you must be one of them new age Naruto anime style lovers. Outlaw Star was a really good series not Gundam Wing good but it had a solid story. When this was around all the junk u liked was still in the comics. The only reason this fell off was because the creator died. So have some respect young buck. :)

  • @Talonusx2 i am just saying that you're cheesy.. " lost gems" :)

  • @958933 it seems the youngsters have fashioned a new meaning for "fuck".

  • @Momentum139 get the fuck out, you random bastard

  • @958933 YOU FIRST. MEAT-UH-BAAAARRRGRRH.

  • Wow the last time I heard this I was in elementary school. Back then I would come home after school and watch toonami, I can't do that now because cartoon network sucks. How can a channel go from having a bunch of great shows to having only a couple okay shows??

  • @egyptspivey777 the rise of reality tv

  • Brings back great memories when Tv was great. Thanks toonami for the greatest toons ever! I first and second that!!!!!!

  • lol whoops i meant the artist of the pictures not the song

  • This song is magical... Does anyone know who the artist is? his/her style is very unique to me idk why

  • 32 ppl need to fall into a black hole.

  • i miss being young

  • @surgerryy yea man. those were the days.. ahh the flashbacks.. years that can never be relived or revist..sigh .. =(

  • where is arai akino-sama?????

  • when i was young i would stay up against my parents rules cause i love this show now that im older i still love it and the ending song i love but i dont know why it gives a final fantasy feel

  • I hate the Cartoon Network for what thye did, they took off all of good cartoons like these to replace them with nothing but garbage!! Take off the damn CN for good!!

  • I tried to sing this as a kid. xD

  • The girl in 2:50 reminded me of a friend of mine who lost her life from a car accident right in front of me 20 years ago... We were friends since 1 grade and we started to grow fond of each other... Till it happened.. She looks so much like her when I saw this while watching Outlaw Star when it aired on Toonami... The song just gave it more feeling. -_-'

  • the artist is a visionary. i hope one day we could venture and explore the universe in as far as we can

  • What happend to all the great anime of the 90's? I watched this as a kid and have yet to forget the theme songs or shows, despite the fact they never are on these days. It's shows like this that I miss.

  • check out Toonamiaftermath they air it sometimes

  • 31 ppl never had anything to watch on tv after school

  • sometimes i would just listen to this song and just gaze outside at night

  • such a beautiful song!

  • man toonami brought u the best stuff, now CN have shows with talking chicken ,wat a joke

  • For anyone who asked a few months ago: the artist is Hicaru Tanaka. There's an unupdated website. Search for "gallery infinite" to see some other pieces.

  • Someone suggested that this song replace my hands on FFXIII's english version. I wholly agree.

  • japan rules :D

  • @elijahdarkblood Man don't i agree

  • ahhh memories, great times in front of the TV as a kid.

  • what an nostalgic beutiful song

  • After hearing this song again, I think I need an e-hug. If yall want to hear a rendition of it, there's subscriber on here name CryHog. I think it is wonderful, but that's my opinion. Go check her out and let her know what yall think bout her version of this song.

  • So many memories.

  • i remeber watching Outlaw start when i was like 14 in 2004 and i used to watch Samuri Jack first, then Outlaw then, Big O,at 11pm (sometimes if i missed outlaw star id watch it again at 4 am, even on a school night lmao) does anyone remember watching these programs ?? seems like yesturday coz now im 20 and i miss it like an old friend ;) they should either make and outlaw star 2 or bring back toonami and play outlawstar again.

  • @XHighVoltsX I miss catching a show i missed at 3 and 4 am.

  • I saw this back in 2001 or so when it first broadcast on Toonami, I saw Tenchi Muyo and Dragon Ball z on Toonami also, that was more than 11 years ago.

  • @musoshi Holy crap. You just made me realize how old I am.

  • @musoshi Childhood was good.

  • @musoshi ughhh such good times. I would stay up and watch all of them. tenchi and outlaw star were my favorites. I always wanted outlaw star to be longer

  • @XHighVoltsX Yeah i was 16 in 04. Such amazing shows. Where as the time gone lol

  • @XHighVoltsX I feel the same way. Outlaw Star brings back so many memories

  • @XHighVoltsX I remember the programs, and you're not alone; I want them to bring back my old friend too.

  • @XHighVoltsX I know what you mean although the morning after totally sucked. I got yelled at for falling asleep in class more times than I can count. LOL :-)

  • @XHighVoltsX I'd definitely opt in for another Big-O or something cause just hearing those words "It's showtime" you knew an asswhoopin' and that shock wave hydraulic fist of win was coming.

  • @XHighVoltsX YES YES YES!! I did exactly thiss! I must be a sadass, but yes I remember it being on again late and i'd get up late just to watch it lol even tho it was a school night too!!! You were not alone >^....^<

  • @XHighVoltsX Exactly wut I did, makes me feel good I wasnt the only one

  • I remember being 10 years old and specifically running home from school to watch this anime; especially this ending song. It was the first Japanese song that I ever heard and I was instantly hooked. I adored the pictures in this song.

  • Ahhh, love, LOVE this song! Thank u very much for bringing this song/video to Youtube. I was going through a rough time in my life when I found anime....watching & listening to this video brought peace into my heart....^^

  • Anyone know what this song is about? I have no clue lol.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this with the actual illustrations--I fell in love with those drawings and to this day I can still remember how amazing I thought they were.

  • this was my wedding song in japan ahhhhhh

  • @ff7fan25 I'd do the same when i get married someday...haha someday

  • @ff7fan25 that really kicks asx seriously

  • @ff7fan25 No kidding? Splendid!

  • @ff7fan25 that's cheesy

  • @ff7fan25

Congrats and its was a good choice to use Hiru no Tsuki

  • @ff7fan25 congrats

  • @ff7fan25 I admire you so much.

  • After listening to a song like this i can fade away and not give a care in the world to what is happening. it is the best feeling to just sit and not care what happens to you or anyone around you.

  • Toonami Line up Dragon Ball Z Gundam Wing Sailor Moon Tenchi Muyo Inuyasha Kenshin YuYu Hakusho Cowboy Bebop Trigun long live legends past
  • @1Akarikotsu Inuyasha isn't terribly old lol. Well I don't think so anyways. I love Inuyasha. Oh,and Trigun lol.

  • @1Akarikotsu I totally agree. OMG I miss this lineup so bad.

  • i love this song... each time i hear it i feel like im at home... and at peace... :')

  • I just now realized this is the same tune as Melfina's Song. This is what happens when you space out listening to this beautiful music :P

  • Avantasia's song "Blizzard on a Broken Mirror" reminds me a little of "Hiro no Tsuki."

  • I think this and tsuki no le are the best drawn anime endings I really like the whimsical drawing styles.

  • every time I see the 5th picture of this video it makes me want to drift to outer space not giving a care around me (:_: )

  • lol

  • @ivanra omg so true!

  • i still get goosebumps listening to this song brings back memories

  • Dammit!! 10 years later and I still get emotional from this WTF

  • @iXomby me too, i keep coming back to listen for comfort and hope

  • Yeah this anime was all that my man pointed out to me a few years ago that I looked a lot like this Melfeena chick I think especially when I had bangs at the first second it comes on wow =)

  • i have not watched the outlaw star in 12 years just watchin this made me cry this anime is specile to me it was my first anime i ever watched thanks for showing me this^^ this is the begining of my anime jorney

  • this always makes me cry every since it was on CN..

  • This takes me back 10 years...the old Toonami days. The first time I heard this I thought it was one of the most beautiful songs outside of Cowboy Bebop..I still feel the same about it.

  • I remember, I remember very well after watching Outlaw star and hearing its ending. The pictures would make me think of how large their universe is. The traveling to distant stars and planets .. It all made my mind expand outward. After not hearing this song for awhile, I listened to it again now, and I can feel that same feeling. That feeling of the universe around me, and maybe one day watching my grandson or great grandson fly off into space..

  • @LanceRyanWilliams I feel the same way ^^

  • @LanceRyanWilliams this song back when i first heard it all those years ago, always brought a tear to my eye an i could never sing it without choking up. an now years later, i hear it again, and it helps me relax and find peace of mind and serenity.

  • @LanceRyanWilliams I felt the same. I 'm glad im not the only one :)

  • @LanceRyanWilliams

    i can absolutely relate

  • @LanceRyanWilliams Total ditto on this man. These ending scenes were a catalyst for my dreams of space travel. Where would we go? How would we do it? When? Just how far would we travel?

  • @LanceRyanWilliams I get the feeling our time has passed and the infiniteness of the universe keeps going, with or without the presence of sentient beings like ourselves, all the while i'm yearn for self preservation as my minds as watches my existence fade into nothing, back to the star dust I once was. I do not believe in the afterlife, religion is a crutch for a dieing mind, one must find except the inevitable one way or another. An after life would be pleasant but I don't have my hopes up...

  • LMBO!!! yo thts the truth- such a shame; I missed Tom. ws a kool kat, cruising in his spaceship. still stuck out in cyberspace somewhere... hopefully they'll bring it back. (with great doubt of mind)

  • @LanceRyanWilliams Dude, you put my words on this page. I felt the EXACT same way as soon as I heard this song on the TV. I recently watched the entire series again and hearing both the ending songs, I just want to imagine that space could be normal life while at the same time thinking it as fantasy.

Why is this such a good song?

  • @LanceRyanWilliams I love your comment...I have the same sentiments....and man do I love astronomy also......

  • @LanceRyanWilliams same youre romantic too ;)

  • i have heard this song for 3-4 years iits so T-T

  • My sister has the box set with all the episodes in it so we can watch Outlaw Star whenever we want lol. :3

  • Man, when I first heard this song for the first time in ten years, I cried. Simply beautiful.

  • 31 people haven't watched outlaw star

  • The most beautiful song ever. Even as a elementary schooler not knowing Japanese, this song evoked such strong emotions from me and I remember it till this day, 11 years later ♥

  • my god so many memories, my first GF and I watched this together so many years ago.... Oh fifth grade where have you gone.

  • I remember as a kid I just to sneak downstairs late at night to watch uncesored Outlaw Star :)

  • i used to be little n come home from school i never watched outlaw star always just caught the ending of it and this song wit the art was my escape to another world for a few minutes then it was DBZ time hah

  • @frybreadbitch damn u cartoon network we should all riot

  • google toonami aftermath and click on the first link i couldnt believe this at first but take a look everyone and enjoy :D rate up so everyone can enjoy :D

  • I WANT TOONAMI BACK ON THE TV

  • it is sad that toonami is gone :( did any of y watch toms good bye.

  • I used to stay up late everynight just to see everything on Toonami..I was really pissed when they stopped doing it..Now its adult swim..But they did bring some back on saturday nights. Cowboy beebop and bleach but it's just not the same.

  • No matter how sad I am, or pissed, or even if I'm in the middle of a long winded rant forged of pure rage, hearing this song will always, ALWAYS, make me shut up, sit down, close my eyes, and in teh end, leave me smiling and also teary-eyed. That's the power that this song has on me.

  • Such a great song, such a great singer.. She's AMAZING. :D

  • The CN should be ashamed of them selfs for what they did, who ever is in charge should be fired for they destroyed as what the true CN was. And turned it into nothing but garbage as is not even worth watching any more!!!

I stopped watching it when they took TOONAMI off for I knew as what was going to happen and they sure enough did it, they took the CN to hell as soon as they took off TOONAMI!!!

  • @curlyknothead101 I couldn't agree more...they used to have anime on every night on Adult Swim now its only on saturdays...and a majority of it sucks...Cartoon Network is so frackin terrible to watch v_v I miss my anime.

  • @curlyknothead101 From certain vids I've watched, it looked like airing Naruto was what made Toonami and the rest of CN go downhill. And apparently CN wasn't enough.

  • @NewRedNinja It wasn't so much Naruto itself as it was the fact that they over-aired it, they over-aired DBZ as well but that was back when they still had a weekly timeslot so it wasn't that bad. Over-airing something that is one once a week is not a good idea though. Once Toonami left the weekday timeslot, the entire block was handled pretty poorly truth be told. Like they showed Prince of Tennis and MAR out of order along with all of the over-showing and over-advertising of Naruto.

  • @GaiaPhoenix I think what CN was trying to do was replacing DBZ since it ended... when? 03ish?

  • @curlyknothead101

They are not the only network to get rid of anime. G4 also had an hour of anime on Fridays and so did Showtime Beyond.

  • @curlyknothead101 they did add Adult Swim which airs pretty good anime every now and then

  • @curlyknothead101 Agreed... I had so many memories as a child. Now, it makes me mad when I flip into that channel. They air shows that aren't even animated... Biggest contradiction and let down ever DX

  • @curlyknothead101 I also stopped watching CN after they took toonami off. Not to long ago i tried to watch CN again but i couldn't, its just lame now. CN is just a former shadow of itself. Luckly i have this and Tenchi muyo box collection and a few Sailor moon dvds. I'm still working hard to look for the other shows that i loved in my childhood.

  • @PrincessAki2009 look up toonamiaftermath

  • @curlyknothead101 if CN wasnt ate up with pokemon itd be ok. I miss Gundam Wing

  • LMBO!!! yo thts the truth- such a shame; I missed Tom. ws a kool kat, cruising in his spaceship. still stuck out in cyberspace somewhere... hopefully they'll bring it back. (with great doubt of mind)

  • the song is beautiful but the pictures are so creepy, i'm sorry

  • @blazingkatana It's the eyes.

  • Who did these drawings??

  • @GreenLantern2xXx I think the production company that made Outlaw Star. If I remember correctly, they were the background for the ED credits. But I could be wrong, it's been like a decade since OS haha

  • @GreenLantern2xXx EXACTLY. I NEED TO KNOW. WHO DREW THESE BEAUTIFUCKING BEAUTIFUCKS

  • R.I.P. Outlaw Star.

  • I love this show dis ending, So i bought the show man R.I.P Toonami for sure!

  • God, I love Arai Akino. So beautiful <3

  • the new generation will never understand outlaw star and the other shows on toonami

  • Serioulsy

  • After 13 nears, Europe's finally getting the Outlaw Star collection on dvd (Region 2). I've pre-ordered it and I'm gonna have an Outlaw Star marathon when it arrives! :D

  • @MaskoftheWraith For real? XD I cant believe it took that long.

  • @SeeSayLeki

    I know! It's taken aaages >.<

  • ah how nostalgic.... loved outlaw star, loved this song. thank you.

  • Im surprised some company hasnt tried to make a subbed anime channel, it would get insane amounts of watchers.

Then again half the stuff would have to be cut unless it was only played after 9pm, tv censorship sucks.

  • When they showed the last episode of Outlaw Star before they took Toonami off the air, I sung the ending and was crying. I miss TOONAMI AND OUTLAW STAR *goes in corner and cry*

  • @AnsleyV2010 I miss it too

  • @AnsleyV2010 you my friend need toonamiaftermath might wanna put in a request for this show

  • @AnsleyV2010 your not the only buddy, TOONAMI well always be the best place where we watched our childhood expand. still feel bad about today's young generation they get to see crap things on the TV

  • @WatchGamer It's not crap, it's bullshit. smh
