"One night he made a very great concert in Paris, a marvellous recital, and some friends invited him to have a dinner, and I was invited too. [During this dinner] He told us he was invited in Uruguay, in a city called 'Trentatres' (Thirthytree) because it was founded by 33 people - 33 men, maybe queer, maybe faggots, nobody knows, but they were 33. and he arrives there after 500 km of train in this village and he sees these banners "benvenida claudio arrau" ->

, "benvenida al gran pianista" (which mean "welcome c.a. / welcome to the great pianist").

and so he was invited to the town hall, he goes there, there was this party, with champagne, a big buffet. after some times he said "i'd like to see the concert-hall". "si maestro vamos". they go there by car, he goes on the stage and ask "where's the piano?"

they answer: "the piano? no tenemos".

And Arrau comment: "I felt like an idiot, then I made 500 km ->
