@someguynamedmatt Who said i went to school???? Who said anything about English grammar... We are talking about cars... and a "motorade" commercial....
@Archer28M Maybe you went to a special learning disability school. Dude if you're going to post a comment it should at least make sense so that normal humans like us can understand what you're talking about. What the hell's a "motorade"? I've heard of gatorade and powerade but not motorade hahahah.
@pojo205 Writing or speaking languages it,s completely different task to do. It,s not easy thing to know.... But any how i,m proud to be able to communicate with 6 different nations.
Both cars & bikes have their advantages & disadvantages, bikes are good for speed as long as it alone where as u can have 4 in Porsche & have a fast drive.... On the other hand ninja is abt 10 times cheaper to porsche
so most of the comments i see compare bikes to cars. i love my gsxr 1000 but you can only get so much power out of a 1 liter motor. but who really cares what machine is faster on a "track"? what track? is it full of sharp turns? what about long straights? sweepers? oh and most importantly the rider? long story short the driver/rider makes or breaks the race. end of story.
Also, its much more rare to see a really good rider on the street on a 1000cc+ bike that can really ride and or has any track time. 5th Gear UK had a good race around a silverstone I think? But anyway cbr1000rr ridden by James Toesland vs honda civic type R driven by Tiff Needel and guess what, bike walked the car in the straights but car run the bike in the corners and braking. So its all relative to what your doing with it where your riding and who the rider is.
Gotta Agree with snoopy1311, at higher levels where the HP/Weight ratio of the machines is closer or above that of a bike or in the case of f1 cars where the downforce and and contact patch and power to weight well exceed a motorcycles ability to accel, corner, and stop. I love riding, I love bikes, street cars are easy prey for most stock open class bikes but you start getting into track or purpose built cars and the bikes will fall back in corners.
Sorry but you are dumb as long as you're compareing Moto GP bikes and street legal cars. Moto GP is peak of moto sport as is F1 in auto sport - try compareing them.
Or if you want best times of street legal bike/car on Nurb:
20,832 m 7:46.70 Suzuki GSXR 1000 Tim Roethig May 2008
20,832 m 7:24 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Horst von Saurma Sport Auto (11/2010)[10]
A car like 4x4 911 would easly beat any track bike on a twisty, bumpy, wet road. Most non-sport bikes have poor top speed (just above 200km/h aka 120mph) and 911 easly spanks them on highway (having above 250km/h top speed).
If you are curious: yes, I tried to race some decent sport cars with my 84HP suzuki gsx 650f and guess what? I won only when power to weight ratio had anything to say. That is on short straights and long, easy curves.
@fastviperPL <you really can't compare a GSF 650 suzuki with a sportsbike. The 250 km/h topspeed of the Porsche is easiely beaten by a 600 cc sportsbike, so think about what a 1200 cc can do!
@fastviperPL The reason some might argue the point is the fact they never reach the limits on anything they've ever driven or rode. On the twistys I'll take my street tired dual sport over a sport bike anytime, if I wanted to I could keep up in my Camry, both are about the same speed on a down hill twisty here, a bit of Deal's Gap sort of road. I have an R1100R and an old GS Beemer with over 100K miles on it, the 1100 never gets ridden, the GS kills it in the corners.
Dude, my old 636 has over 120hp and I topped it out @ 292 on a highway when I wqas racing my buddy on the same bike. 200km/hr is nothing by todays modern standards. The zx10 I have now does about 170-180 in first gear alone, 300km/hr is easily reached if you have the room. Just saying that your comparing apples (your sport touring 84hp gsx) to oranges (modern day liter with ~175hp), they are in no way comparable. ;)
@fastviperPL Here's a top speed run on a 2006 zx10, our speedometers only read up to 299 but with gps I've seen them tracked at about 314-316km/hr. The Hyabusa, zx12, and zx14 will go up and over 320km/hr.
Just an FYI dude hahaha
Type this in as I can not ad a link to the comment, its the first video listed and it's in a tunnel. Enjoy.
Yeah, cars will always be faster on tracks because they have 4 wheels. You can really throw the car around the turns and 4 wheels = more grip = faster laps. No way bikes can keep up with cars through turns, but they will usually burn them on straights.
I love both bikes and cars though, don't really have a preference. Both are very fun in their own ways.
@Undertaker3879 That literally has to be the biggest failure of a comment about bikes vs. cars Ive EVER read. Im sorry but PLEASE try to compare Moto GP and any supercar race and tell me which is easier to spin out. Obviously cars like Bugattis or anything over 230 mph can beat a bike on straights but if youve even watched a full motorcycle race youd be blown away by the turn entrance speed.
I dont like calling people stupid, but studying the slightest bit of motorsports goes a long way.
@Undertaker3879 Youre calling me retarded when youre the one that thinks having 4 wheel will ALWAYS give you better grip? Im not sure if youve heard of "drifting" but those guys have 4 wheels and still slide out. And if youve actually watched a proffesional race like American Le Mans or any Euro Series, you still see drivers sliding off the track. "4 wheels = more grip = faster laps" LMAO whered you read that, on a Hot Wheels box? RWD, AWD, and FWD is only determined by driver skill and tunes.
Did I say 4 wheels gives you ultimate, perfect grip all the time making it impossible to spin out, drift or power slide? No I don't believe I did. I said 4 wheels give BETTER grip than two. What makes you think that 2 wheels could have more speed through turns? Cars have so much more rubber on the track and therefore have a big advantage in braking and cornering.
@Undertaker3879 Omfg self contradicting now huh? Youre trying to win an argument against someone who races a Kawasaki Ninja every other weekend in a local series. Believe what you want kid, im just recommending that you learn a thing or two about tire traction.
Wow you are beyond stupid. I never once contradicted myself for a start lol..You can keep believing bikes have more speed through turns, with less rubber on the track and a higher center of gravity. But whatever, only a moron would figure that 2 wheels gives more grip than 4. And you never give any reasoning or evidence behind your arguments. Bikes lose traction as well not just cars so you can't use 'cars spin out'
I'm pretty convinced you're a troll actually so, 9/10.
@Undertaker3879 I'd just like to point out that having more rubber down then you need is actually bad. Too much friction. If you have good, well inflated tyres then your contact patch only needs to be small. Also, the bike's whole dynamics change when going through a corner because of the gyroscopic effect. They are more planted, plus the center of gravity is a lot lower then in a car. Thinking a car can outrun a bike is ridiculous, bikes are the ultimate track machines.
Another thing I race high powered bikes and cars at my local track as well, which is quite a windy track with not many straights which aren't long. All my fastest times are in my cars, and the track record is set by a car...
@Undertaker3879 just to set some things straight. its not about how many or how wide the tires are so much as it is psi in contact with the tarmac. weight suspension. etc. maybe the people who ride on your track suck. watch the video of the bmw s1000rr vs the atom super car. look how amazing the car has to be the beat out that bike. because other cars cannot touch it. and they are BOTH professional drivers/riders. look at motogp and tell me if an average car could take those turns at 100mph+
@Undertaker3879 cars and bikes take turns differently. bikes lean. car steer. overall total domination on the ground. formula 1 cars. 2nd? motogp. on average a good rider can take a turn faster then an average/above average driver. try doing both. bikes take much more finesse to handle in a turn. not trying to start an argument. just bringing up some points that anger may have not let you BOTH see.
