Yes lab has found EPO in 8 of his samples, his team (US POSTAL) was caught and filmed by TV reporters dropping a bag with many used boxes of doping products and perfusion kits on 2000 TDF.
Look how much improvement the later cyclists have made. Even Eddy Merckx's hour record, set in Mexico at elevation was closely approached by female athletes (Jeannie Longo of France & Van Moorsel). Merckx rode 49km and the women rode 45 and 46km, respectively. That's not too far off.
Improvement have been made since blood doping is commonly used : EPO and blood transfusion. Just ask Lance and Dr. Ferrari who prepared blood of Moser during his hour records.
There's no doubt, SHOULD be no doubt in anybody's mind that Lance was and IS dirty! EPO is not needed, blood doping with his own blood has the same effect!
He can store up his packed red blood cells and freeze them during the fall and winter, RIGHT NOW! In the summer He can race with a hematocrit of 55% and transfuse his own plasma volume to get a lower reading of 45%. Saline can also help with this! It does not take long for it to go back up!!
come to my place to kick your ass shit head biatch come ass i will kick your ass on mountain or road fucker.....no EPO no FROZEN PLASMA just my legs ass hole
Being from Spain, It is understandable that you take the stance that if he was not caught, he did not dope. Just like Valverde. Just like Contador. And just like Nadal.
Also, it is spelled loser, not looser. You should know how to spell that one.
0:4 - fuc§ed him hard this year on every mountain stage and at both individual time trials and will do it again next year. and the best thing - I will see it live just as this year in verbier.
99 tour - EPO!!!!! his luck - in 99 there were no methods to prove epo - but they did it in 2004 with 6 of his "99 tour" frozen urine specimen - and in all of them they found epo. again his luck - to disqualify him they need an A and a B specimen and as 5 years later only the B specimen was left they couldn't do anything but show the world that he is the biggest cheater in world sport since ben johnson -at least his teammate franckie andreu had the guts to admit that he doped during the 99 tour
Lance is just super serious, more serious then any other cyclist out there today. We are seeing legendary stuff...love it, cause it dont come around too often...
sorry, but you have no idea of prof. bike racing. the greatest of all time is eddy merckx and no one outside the us would even argue. armstrong never tried to win the giro and tour in one year because only the truly great ones can do that. it is like the grand slam in tennis and it is nearly impossible to stay in top form for 3 months (may - giro / july - tour) and only guys like coppi, merckx, hinault and indurain did that (2 or more times) and anquetil and pantani once but not pharmstrong
armstrong: 7 tours, 0 giros, 0 vueltas, 1 world championship,
5 monuments of cycling: 0 titles
merckx: 5 tours, 4 giros, 1 vuelta (makes 10 big titles in the big 3 week races - 4 times 2 titles in one year), 3 world championships
5 monuments: 5 liege - bastogne - liege (record winner), 7 milan - san remo (record winner), 3 paris - roubaix, 2 ronde van vlaanderen, 2 giro di lombardia
armstrong didn't win giro, tour or vuelta in one year because he couldn't!!!!!!!
he had the oportunity during the 7 years he won the tour and he didn't even try. why? because he knew he was not able to. otherwise he would have at least tried. don't be ridiculous - a guy like lance armstrong tries to win everything. thats his character and if he didn't do it (even try it) than because he was not able to. no one has ever focused so much on only one race (and no one ever had a team like he did with big tour winners like heras working for him)
armstrong is the most succesfull tour de france rider but he is not even among the big 5 (coppi, merckx, anquetil, hinault, indurain) - and even armstrong himself considers merckx the greatest of all time without any doubt. his overall palmares can not compete with the ones of the 5 all time greats. 0 giros, 0 vueltas, 0 wins at the 5 monuments, 7 tours + 1 worldchampionship= 8 important wins.
merckx? 32 titles at tour, giro, vuelta, worldchampionship, 5 monuments.
and i'm not even belgian, i don't really care where one comes from, but that armstrong hype is ridiculous. it's like considering a guy the best of all times who won 7 times wimbledon and there are other guys who won 5 times wimbledon, 4 times the french open, 3 times the us open and 3 times the australien open. why are laver, borg and federer considered the best of all time and not the wimbeldon record winner sampras? because sampras was far away from world class on clay
and to win on clay and gras is only possible for the great ones (borg won 5 in wimbledon and 6 in paris). and as hard it is to win on two surfaces as different as clay and gras as hard it is for a cycling pro to keep his top form over 3 months and win giro and tour or vuelta. armstrong had the opportunity to proove that he can do it and didn't. even contador has done this in his short career, but thats another story, oh contador, how hard will he f&§k armstrong next year?
But to be fair, professional cycling is completely different now to what it was in Merckx's day. Riders target certain events and try to peak for them, rather than just maintaining the same level of fitness the whole year. Also, races are faster and harder. I doubt that if Merckx were cycling these days he would have anywhere near the same palmares.
I agree with you, Lance did not win both, but his 'Greatestness' comes as much from what he does off the bike as on. He gives people inspiration. No one, I mean no one can touch Merckx, but Lance is our hero, now.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
exactly - and only that makes you one of the big names of cycling history (you named them + anquetil)
btw, i saw armstrong in the mid 90's and he was a nobody at big tours (ridiculous at time trials and in the mountains), even the year he won the world championships and then suddenly the whole peloton suffers the consequences of the festina case and mr armstrong becomes the super rider one year later with all his "special authorisation for medication" PHARMstrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats Lance! Big fan! I'm really excited for next years tour de france. Its going to be the most watch tour de france ever in history! Mark my word!

franrafuki 2 years ago
you mean 7:4 (if the 7:2 refers to the wins at one of the big 3 week races - giro/tour/vuelta).
but it can also be 0:1 if we look at how many times did a rider win two 3 week-races in the same year (only at hand for the great ones).
or it can also be 0:4 if we consider what they have won at the age of 26.
0:4 would also apply to "what have they won without doping"... ;-)
donreal1975 2 years ago
Hahahahahahahhahaha you are very funny
How can you compare the Tour of France with the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España? Are you silly?
It's as if we compare Wimbledon with Cincinnati's Masters Series in the tennis.
Certainly, ¿How many World Championships has Contador?
Sorry for my english, I'm Spanish.

hahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahah
5 years later¿?The experts in doping said that a few samples of urine that have more than 5 years aren't valid because they can be defective.
¿And where is the sanction? The UCI and the organization of Tour de France give me the reason;)
PD: And it's the same if he has 7 or 6 Tours, continues being the record;) But he has 7 and he's a winner and you are a looser. Don't cry.

Man do you like ready yourself?
This is NOT about tennis.
In the times of Merckx it was the "tour de Benelux" plus some Spanish and Italian bikers not a worldwide event....
By the way:
Your Merckx couldn't even "walk" a marathon.
Lance is the best Biker, Mountainbiker, het can run a good marathon, he wil do the Iron-Man....(!)
Now, that's a (complete) athlete!!

Don't dig that old Merckx out of the pit again please!!!
This man LANCE ARMSTRONG is a true hero of THIS moment....
He's superhuman!
And for the Merckx fans: He won the tour and the giro ... yes...
But cycling wasn't a world sport....
It was the tour of Europe....
Nowdays its far more international. Americans... Australians...
And bye the way..... I'm from Belgium!
Greets. And congrats Lance.

Lance never won the giro and TdF in the same year just because he dont try it!
5 years ago im 100% sure he wins both of them but he dont started in the giro,so nobody can say he failed!

LoL I think YOU have no idea!
Lance started in the giro the first time this year AFTER A BREAK OF 3 YEARS AND A BROKEN COLLARBONE and he finished 12th!
Comeback to the tour and getting 3rd with an age 37!!
And you wanna say he wouldnt win both in his prime 5 years ago!
YOU ARE A JOKE!
But its ok, either people love lance or she hates him!
FOR ME HES THE BEST EVER!
