I, personally, enjoy the tobacco and alcohol related videos. I don't smoke or drink, but they were still very interesting to me. I always learned new stuff from them :P. In all honesty I think those two hobbies make you seem more sophisticated. If kids don't have the will power to not smoke or drink JUST from watching your videos, they will end up falling to peer pressure or something else and become drug addicts anyway. I think you should keep doing them :)
First off, congrats on the healthy lifestyle. Watching your weight, eating well, exercising, all good. I'm sure you've heard, for an adult, having 1 to 2 drinks per night, is not only ok, its actually beneficial to your health, heart health, etc. And smoking the occasional cigar or pipe is calming and a good way to relax, in no way related to someone who smokes 20 (one pack) of cigarettes or more per day. You could always put a disclaimer on some vids that are "only meant for those over 18".

Jeff, I'm going to be 100% honest with you, if you were ever picked up by a network and given your own half hour long television show be it on PBS or Outdoor Channel, I would sit down with my children and watch it with them. You are by far the most informative, honest, fun, funny, and wholesome person I watch on youtube. And I support your choice and will always watch your videos no matter the content, even if you turn to just cooking.

I had been a smoker for 15+ years, and have smoked dam near everything you can smoke, both legal and illegal, but have been contemplating taking up the pipe again (for tobacco use only) because of its mad style, and sheer relaxation. This is a choice that I made before your videos.
It sounds like you are just trying to justify this to yourself, either to make yourself feel better about this or just to make an exuse to not do these vids anymore. Your tomato sauce would have been healthier without the salt or meat. Risk can sometimes be the spice of life. Children eat mush and read trite stories because they ARE children. Adults have a different standard for themselves, which involves weighing costs and benefits in more complex ways. Hey I'm 13 and I honestly enjoyed the alcohol and tobacco videos. This is because I already had full intents of smoking a cigar or having a drink with my dad and grandpa at the age of 21 but just to let you know us kids who watch aren't even old enough to buy knives and lighters and gun our selves or even carry them. So you should make smoke and tobacco videos. It's your hobby not ours.

Jeff if it helps at all I drank and smoked tobacco before your videos ,the only thing you taught me about when it comes to drinking an smoking is that I should drink less and drink responsibly and smoke quality tobacco and only smoke rarely as opposed to everyday like I'd been doing.

before the pot video even comes out, all research points to the fact that pot smoking does not cause cancer. Pot smokers, even heavy pot smokers have the same rates of cancer as non smokers. Having said that, pot smoke is still bad for your lungs.

Jeff I'm 14 and you're my largest role model. I won't smoke underage and I enjoyed the pipe videos and cigars videos. It actually educated me in the fact that there are other types of tobacco products. Also, I understand drinking at my age damages growth and basically is stupid. I feel like losing these videos is like losing a part of you.

Jeff, you are a kentucky colonel, one of the straightest guys i know (as far as i am knowing you through your videos) and most of the time you think about others. Young people today have been stuffed, pretty much since Kindergarden, with all kinds of total bs from the anti-smoking, anti-drinking, and health nazi crowd. Further.. in all honesty, you will never avoid offending people. Even if you dumb down your opinions to such an extent that you have absolutely *nothing* to say, some oversensitive git is going to take offense. Even you reviewing whiskey and tobacco, you're probably the most positive role model that any kid is going to see. You actually present things in a sane, balanced fashion, which is far far better than this "be terrified of anything "bad"" nonsense the rest of the world seems caught up in.
Pipe smoking is actually quite interesting. There's so much that goes into smoking, such as the amount to pack, just how packed it should be for proper flow, the various types of tobacco available, the pipe materials, and the concept of resting a pipe after smoking. Do what makes you happy. Part of the reason many people watch your videos is due to your personality and your interests.
I dislike smoking, but I love to watch the pipe videos. You are a great guy jeff, you teach us things and you are viewer driven. You have been my favourite youtuber since youtube. I'm sure you've heard, for an adult, having 1 to 2 drinks per night, is not only ok, its actually beneficial to your health, heart health, etc. And smoking the occasional cigar or pipe is calming and a good way to relax, in no way related to someone who smokes 20 (one pack) of cigarettes or more per day. You could always put a disclaimer on some vids that are "only meant for those over 18".

there are certain people in life you should care about what they think...but...those are the people in your life such as family,long time close personal friends etc...it's ok to disappoint people...you will never be able to go through life and make everyone happy...if you want to truly be yourself then you need to let go of the idea that you might upset someone...you're going to...sorry to hear you will be self sensoring to please some people :(

Jeff, you're not their parent. Own what is yours, not other people's dysfunctions. Young people today have been stuffed, pretty much since Kindergarden, with all kinds of total bs from the anti-smoking, anti-drinking, and health nazi crowd. A lot of them have been taught to demonize people who smoke or drink.. and frankly, that's just wrong. And your'e right.. you shouldn't feel terrible. Further.. in all honesty, you will never avoid offending people. Even if you dumb down your opinions to such an extent that you have absolutely *nothing* to say, some oversensitive git is going to take offense. Even you reviewing whiskey and tobacco, you're probably the most positive role model that any kid is going to see. You actually present things in a sane, balanced fashion, which is far far better than this "be terrified of anything "bad"" nonsense the rest of the world seems caught up in.

Pipe smoking is actually quite interesting. There's so much that goes into smoking, such as the amount to pack, just how packed it should be for proper flow, the various types of tobacco available, the pipe materials, and the concept of resting a pipe after smoking. Do what makes you happy. Part of the reason many people watch your videos is due to your personality and your interests.

I dislike smoking, but I love to watch the pipe videos. You are a great guy jeff, you teach us things and you are viewer driven. You have been my favourite youtuber since youtube. Don't stop being yourself because thats who you are and thats how you are going to stay. At the beginning I only watched your channel for knife reviews, but thanks to you I know like hot sauce. lol, your the best.

Just keep doing what your doing. Yes, i understand your concerned for the kids BUT it is the parents RESPONSIBILITY to WATCH their kids & what they do. Kids will do what they want but it's just common sense that parents NEED to take care & monitor what their kids do. Don't stop what you love man. Keep the vids comin :)
