If there is a God behind the big bang and all, then he led the universe's evolution to give humans the tools to create a God with exponentially converging technologies. Think of it like having a child. You and your wife/husband decide to have a baby. For a while you can control the baby. It's intelligent but is still bound to you for it's survival. Would Human 2.0 the upgrade to human 1.0, us, even be organic organism? Would they even have blood? Without needing blood and only energy, i.e., electricity harnessed from lightning, we would be the first species ever to redesign our bodies, because we would create our our organ systems. No more organ harvesting stigma. One question remains.
How would we future Borg or androids reproduce? Would making reproduction accessible mutually exclusively finally solve the gender devide?

I guess you have never heard of the Cylon God refered in the new series of Battlestar Galactica? The replicant's of that show have a monotheistic system of belief, always with phrases like "God's children" or "God's way". So, I agree that fabricated life cannot have the concept of God (since I am a Pagan and I don't believe in God), in their minds (minus the chips and AI). But I'm optimistic that they will form a religion on their own. No, I'm in no need of an upgrade wahtsoever.

This era will define us much so than the previous one in so many ways; as we built more intelligent machines that cater to our every whim. Us as species must recognized that as machines begin to create an identity all their own, maybe become a race, we must acknowledge the fact that what we create can create itself. Like the Jewish fable of the Golem. And with the sophistication of medicines and technologies, people will indefinitely take advantage of that for their own selfish preservation.

This show was shot in 2004 and the guy who was working on the Quantum computer said he'd have built something useful in 5 years or so.
So far I've heard nothing about him completing a working Quantum computer (rudimentary or otherwise) in the press. Has anyone heard anything?

Wrong. If I "uploaded" my mind while I was still alive, there would be two simultaneous instances of my mind. This shows that both cannot be me and so therefore the copy is ONLY a copy. Other body modifications are certainly possible, but would you really want your mind to be stored in a machine? Imagine a corruption of the data; you just lost your childhood. Some sort of EMP wave went off, you just died.

Ona mor personal note I didnt believe in God, though there was a time when I almost drowned scuba diving & a revelation hit me that was so tangible trust me it was not a chemical reaction from shock, I KNOW about Chemical effects on the body I just asked God 2 help cos who else could, & I saw& Felt him, this helped me, but there is already enough evidence4 transcendent intelligence in our symmetrical world

Think of it like having a child. You and your wife/husband decide to have a baby. For a while you can control the baby. It's intelligent but is still bound to you for it's survival. You may delude yourself into thinking you can control it forever, but unfortunately the day will come when that baby will begin to express it's own will. Same thing with A.I., except that instead of a human baby, we would be giving birth to an intelligent entity capable of developing god-like powers/abilties.
