taste somewhat like sierra nevada pale ale but still not nearly as good.
i paid $6.50 a 6 pack and in my town sierra nevada pale ale is $8.45, wouldnt drink american ale over sierra nevada but all in all its a decent pale ale and i sugguest everyone tries it.
This beer may make some people who dont like ales actually make them enjoy ales but still its a weak version of a good micro-brew pale ale.
I brew my own beer and i think my own pale ale is better than this but i pack cascade hops
Other interesting things that I'd like to point out are that AB was working on this beer months before they were bought out and I was also surprised to find that the American Ale wasn't a twist-top.
I bought some of this American ale last night and was pretty excited to try it out. The bottle said it was supposed to be an amber ale but unfortunately it didn't taste much like other amber ales I've had from craft breweries, but I guess I should have expected that. The amount of flavor and bitterness that I got was pretty weak which was disappointing, but again I guess I shouldn't have expected a company like AB to come out with a beer that had a lot of flavor.
Sorry I haven't seen this one yet to try. I also see I accidentally said Corn I meant to say rice I didn't meant to imply that the American ale uses anything other than malt.
I'm surprised that I didn't hear of this since I am a fan of AB products. Not strong beer, but consistant beer. Anyways, I'll definately try this when I see it come out!
I bought a 6 pack of Shock Top Belgian White at a local gas station about 2 weeks ago and I noticed that it was a AB product witch surprised me as it was actually pretty good, not great but drinkable. So I'll most likely be checking out the American Ale to see what they have come up with.
It is actually a pretty decent brew man!
For an AB product, there is not a whole lot to bitch about!

Don't forget beechwood aging which they love to promote in their commercial.
