Fact I think: Stealing is when you take something and that other person looses it.

Fact: When you download something and use it anyway and republish it, the other person still has it also. (Unless he/she deletes it.)

cheating the authors of what they rightly deserved? my lecturer once said that he saw someone happily photocopying his book more than one chapters and 10%, but he was okay. In fact, he said that he's happy that someone is even reading his book and photocopying it. I dun believe in copyright.

Copyright should apply to only some things, but not everything. Although your lecturer may be okay with a student photocopying the book, it wouldn't be the same when another company blatantly copy pastes the content and then republish it as if it were their own for profit.

It's a good concept for a video - too few people are aware of copyright law, but many people copy! However, in virtually all offices, there is a copyright/resources manager or librarian whose duty it is to keep people informed. In reality, if you sacked everyone who was making illegal copies of books, you'd need to sack 3/4 of the workforce. Same for citing sources from the internet. It's not a sackable offence, and most people have proposal material checked if it's that important.
