  • @sausage1ish I’m proud of a restaurant chain I’ve opened that caters to seniors with no teeth. My restaurant is unique in that it serves pre-chewed food. Seniors without teeth who’d normally be restricted to a bland diet, can now enjoy all sorts of delicious meals. The start-up funds came from generous fellow Christians after I submitted a business plan. It’s called Gummy’s. See my channel for details. • My Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines pretentious as making an unjustified or excessive claim. What Daniel is talking about is getting value for your money, not being disappointed with your meal. Pretentious is not the same thing as Fancy This is a special occasion restaurant, most people would not eat here on a weekly basis.

  • goooood attitude - i'd love to eat there

  • I love it... Down with food SNOBS....love the food, Yes the food!

  • I would love to dine at one of those restaurants. However, I'm afraid of being treated funny for being black.

  • @haqi9fly i think you would be treated hospitably at daniel, other nyc fine dining experinces; i agree you might be. but go try daniel!

  • @zachgoldman It looks like a restaurant for millionaires. I could never afford something like this place. However, I can definitely see why it is so expensive. The cleanliness, the atmosphere, and of course the food quality. At least it is more affordable than MASA. MASA has balls charging what they do.

  • loook - koool!!!

  • Looks like my kind of place. Food looks very good.

  • That is a really nice restaurant ! I was a server for a local restaurant and happened to move around to other restaurants in Lower Manhattan and I am thinking of leaning more towards the restaurant business becus of the great atmosphere I felt while working there (: If you are looking for any hospitality Industry careers or restaurant careers may I suggest east coast. I know its sooo cliche ! But the restaurants are completely amazing and the settings (for most anyways) offer a amazing xperience

  • If I go to a restaurant where the cook hates me, and I order something small to eat. What is the worse that the cook can do to my food order because that person at the moment hates me??? (:

  • @NorthSideCartel real restaurants do mess with your food... they have respect for the food and the people

  • Very elegant restaurant Dumbo Movers would love to assist in your relocation service...

  • Isn't this restaurant owned by someone that looks like a monkey?

  • I respect wat he says in this video, but that food does look a bit pretentious. I would love to eat there but his whole speech about not being pretentious is a bit off.

  • Unfortunately you are exactly right here, landis69. He is the archetype of pretentious.

  • "i hate pretention"

  • Travelled over 3,000 miles for Dinner from England with my partner, its was worth every second of travel. From entering, to meeting Chef, the depth of flavours & textures, the excellent Service it was amazing, in relation to Europe top restaurants it is up there. Was also first trip to USA loved it, next day we hit a fab deli. We loved the diversity of the City, many memories as both our birthdays celebrated whilst there. Thanks to all

  • @funchefGary hey mate.... listen i have a question to you! since i have never been to New York and i would love to go someday and live there, but since u have been their what where would you prefer to live and what is more enjoyable england or new york?

  • very nice...

  • My favorite restaurant in NYC. Order the 6 course menu with the winw pairin.....its totally worth it!

  • Must be expensive to order from this restaurant

  • looking at the comments on most of these American Fine Dining restaurant's is making me lose faith in American's as people. So ignorant in the ways of food. seeing a Mc Donalds post on a French Laundry video... it kinda makes me sick.

  • @maamfaec7 I think that maybe you are being a bit judgmental. great food is great, and mcdonalds is well, mcdonalds. But people are allowed to like what they like and it is no harm to us. We do not need to eat mcdonalds just like not everyone needs to know who thomas keller is. It would be great if we could all eat out at amazing restaurants, but without lesser establishments, what would make these places so great? Im not trying to be argumentative, but maybe you are being a bit dramatic.

  • @maamfaec7 well then, have a good barf and eat it up. i'm sure that coming from you, it's exquisite.

  • @maamfaec7 Do they serve the McRib? Thought not.

  • i work whith daniel the food is good,

  • Just was went to his place in Vegas. Awesome!

  • If you are in US search for "Indian restaurant locator"

  • italian food is crap......

  • italian cuisine is good yes....but its also the easiest one...

  • This Resturant is Very Good Like it alot

  • He says the restaurent is not pretentious yet he names it after himself.......contradiction personified.

    I'd rather eat turds.

  • Go hit up a McDonalds pal..... Weak

  • thats so awesome

  • is that the restaurant where they make the sea bass and wrap it in a potatoe peel

  • pause at 0.59

  • it's actually a dish from le cirque, but daniel led the brigade for a while there, so he probably took the idea a bit.

  • where are the girls?

    Californication girls

  • he could french touch me any day

  • I saw him on Top Chef as a guest judge. I think he is an excellent chef.

  • Michelin guide should stay in europe, let the europeans worry about the guide...its a whole differant ball game here in the NEW WORLD.

  • lawls

  • ChefMED very good point/comparison.. Do you find that restaurants always tend to do one of those two things? Do you think it's still god to have both kinds of restaurants? I take it you prefer pleasing the quest?

    Peace

  • In 2006, my first fine dining/French restaurant experience was at Daniel. Upon arriving slightly late for my reservation, I was greeted by whom I later recognized as Daniel himself. After getting over the sticker shock of the 3 & 5 course meals that French restaurants are designed, I had a 3 course which was excellent. The service "at every turn" was impeccable.

I would highly recommend dining at Daniel for first the experience, then the food & service. I got some great pictures also.

  • Very good impression I have.

  • "French touch" in N.Y :)

  • Thank You Chef Daniel your view on pleasing the guest instead of trying educate them is a nice touch on customer satisfaction instead of customer knowledge......Merci

    ChefMED

  • Wow, what a room!

  • One of the best chefs there is. A class act.

  • Daniel Bulud is best chef in the world. He's as good as they come. I would love to work there. GO San Diego Culinary Institute.

  • He only has two stars...he is good but not at the top tier as is Keller, Ripert and Ramsay.

  • BULLSHIT !

As a Chef in NYC who has experienced the cuisine of ALL of the above mentioned Chefs, NO ONE's cooking has inspires me as Chef Boulud's has.

  • That is your opinion and it is completely valid. But the opion of brert54321 is also valid. I love Boulud's restaurant, a personal favorite, but everyone has their own tastes.

  • He has 4 stars you plonker!

  • im a chef in nyc worked for daniel for a couple of years, and daniel has 4 stars ny times, and daniel, le bernardin, and per se all have 28s in zagat, as far as the michelin rating system its not relevant in nyc like in europe.
