  • gas prices are still to low in the States. The Government shult tax it higher an re finace it into public transport.

  • That marketing was so cliche!, trying to lure young people in (rolls eyes)

  • Kevin needs to wait 3 to 5 years until the range on electric cars multiplies or triples or more...

  • Gay

  • Where does a teenager get $35K to buy a Leaf? Kevin seems like a good kid, but he comes off sounding like a spoiled California bitch. Maybe Kevin's parents could also buy a Leaf for a poor Mexican kid in Orange County too.

  • @Alvord1430 The bank of Mom and Dad :)

  • its a little gay

  • @water0x00 shut up

  • Kevin, I could not agree with you more. I cannot wait till Nissan puts me on their waiting list so this 40 something "old man" can throw out the gas hog Chevy built in 2003 (or sell it) and purchase my new Leaf.

  • just use a bike and you wont need a car.

  • @cuberisLT You can't use a bike on a freeway dude.

  • @GoldRamen who uses bike on a freeway????

  • I think kids in his age group would rather have a Nissan GTR :-)

  • This is a really cute video. I wish Nissan could release a soundtrack or something because I was watching the video over and over just to hear the music!

  • Even though the car doesn't use gas, it still needs presumably a massive amount of electricity which in turn still hurts the environment, Am I right?

  • @rudewolf89

The car will use less electricty to completely charge all 48 batteries from completely dead than an average household dryer will use to dry your clothes in the dryer for 1 hour.

  • @drice847

If that's the case, that's pretty impressive.

  • @drice847

I read, that the capacity of the batterie is 24 kWh. If your dryer needs 24.000 Watt an hour I would recomend to buy a new one. You could run an average Dryer (3000Watt) about 6 hours.

  • uh no kid its the gayest car right now. and this kid looks like a fag.

  • Its cool if you wanna go green and cant afford gas prices.. but well I love the sound of the v8. Why is it that the f150 is one of the top selling trucks and at 17mpg or less.. Admit it.. we are addicted to gasoline/petrol.

  • I love the leaf, the idea and everything is headed in the right direction with the technology but the majority of 22-year old young adults (or under) can not afford a $27k electric car with a $7,500 rebate ($35k otherwise) without parental assistance. I vote to drop all the fancy menu systems as well as the nav since you only have 100 miles (optimal) / 70ish 'realistic' miles driving range anyways, not predicting the impact A/C has on it possibly dropping the range even further.

  • this kid probably has a 100000 student loan and now he wants to go in the hole for another 35k...buy a new elantra for 20k and pay off your student loan...it will take you 15 years to recoup the added cost with the gas savings

  • goodluck trying to convert the south to this

  • @garymofo2

The Nissan Leaf is built in Tennessee, last time I looked it was part of the "South".......................LOL

  • I agree with him - for OUR 20-ties old generation it is a car which should BE! :-)

  • Stop making them GT-Rs and 370Zs and I'll believe Nissan. Petrol Ftw.

  • the greatest car right now?...i”m pretty sure that an M5 is better..i”m just saying..

  • I want to hear it without any music! D:

  • I would buy a electric car if they looked like supercars.. just saying haha

  • @AsianManTi you should google "tesla roadster" best of both worlds (a bit expensive for the average joe though... )

  • This is alot of money for something with limited range

  • i am quite young so dont get me wrong, but wouldnt that cost more fore electricity bills, i still agree with the 0 gas it needs but wouldnt that take up alot more electricty? or am i completely wrong?

  • Yea. Im the kid that needs the big truck. 03' F150 with 9 inches of lift and 35" tires. We can just put this car in the back of my truck?

  • @Stihl039 We will see how quick your tune changes when gas hits $6 a gallon

  • @gardnerbm well seeing as how gas went down a few cents from the other day in my area...i dont think i will lol

  • @Stihl039 well seeing how gas always goes back up, you are one of the many americans who have a short term memory

  • @gardnerbm well seeing as how gas goes up and down......it can go both ways just saying....

  • @gardnerbm hey guess what....gas went DOWN...AGAIN 2 cents today in my area

  • @Stihl039 - So let's place some bets. Five years from now do you think gas will be less than $3.50 a gallon or more? (Just FYI for someone like me who remembers $0.95/gallon gas - $3.50 is maddening.)

I'm betting in five years the price will be higher than it is now. What's your bet?

  • I absolutely applaud Nissan, I just would prefer a Tesla Roadster or the Approach Tesla Roadster has taken, meaning Fast Powerful Efficient and Extremely "Cool" designs, this will be the ONLY way we can get the largest polluters to convert (The Rednecks who Love Power and Use High Octane Airplane Fuels + Nitro tanks etc)

Anyways I am so proud of Nissan for doing what they have done, I bet it was a legistical nightmare to produce an ALL electricinto mainstream

    "WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR"

  • 1:00 she suddenly has no belt on.

    1:06 with a belt

  • I don't care about the electric motor features and that it can save the planet. Just show me the cup holders. Does it have cup holders? If a car doesn't have good cup holders, then I rather walk.

  • using Nissan Leaf than your gas car will save lots of oils barrels per year. you save your money for gas and you also save Mother Earth..=)

  • Hybrids suck, electric cars suck. My personal opinion. I could never drive one. Im going to stick with my diesel F450

  • Oh Man Acura come on catch up please!!

  • why couldn't they make it better looking?

  • "100% electric" that means its 100% pluged into the electrical outlet wich takes up alot of resources. Then again what if everything was powerd by the anti-resource outlet?

  • if u dont go on road trips then this car makes sense

  • So this is more of a go to work and back home type of car, for 100mi of driving per charge. I live 3 hours from Miami and 1 hour from tampa so Im going to want to take road trips every now and then. That means I will have to stop 2-3 times to charge it. Nope, not for me. They're never going to make a no-gas car at a decent price that can get a decent number on mile of drive time. Because everyone will buy it and it will put the oil companies out of business.

  • Ehhhhhh......... I would rather have a corvette. But that doesn't really to this type of car

  • This white kid is spoiled. His mother works at a factory in the Midwest and can afford to buy him a new car.

  • im not damn environmental hippie but i want to save money on transportation. this car looks like the ticket.

  • @bradyischamp what about saving your money on you electric bill when you plug it in the socket to charge it?

  • The car would be suitable for majority people. The range is good enough if you go to work, drive your kids to school, go to the mall, etc. on a nice day, open the window, enjoy the fresh air, stay at the stop light without burning fuel. thats every body would dream of

  • They cost a lot more than a 1600cc turbo diesel ford focus in the UK, to buy, run, service & insure. I get 55MPG town/ 72MPG motorway driving, 30MPH/70MPH. 0-60 in 10s, 120MPH. The LEAF costs MORE to recharge and only does 80miles which is useless. The battery costs as much as the car and only lasts 3 years. Why would anyone buy one? I get the idea behind them, but they are not good enough for the UK, so none are sold here!!!!! no one buys hybrids either as they cost more to run. Work it out.

  • @urbex2007

a hybrid cost less then a normal car to maintain and the leaf battery pack is 8 years warranty and will last longer

also you dont recharge a ford focus diesel so it can not cost more to recharge!

  • Comment removed

  • @urbex2007 Hybrids are more expensive and don't get much better mpg than a good diesel, but because they still use fuel which they still cost a lot to run. And in London there are many charging places, and soon they will be all around the UK, and they will be free in a lot of places. The battery price will probably drop to around £2000 - £3000 in the next few years which isn't bad either.

  • GO KEVIN!

  • I dont know where people come up with the crap they do but i know Kevin personally, hes a very good friend of mine and he isn't from the mid-west. hes from california

  • @bcyoshi22 yeah read the first like 6 seconds. It says his test drive in Orange County wasnt enough so they FLEW him to Portland

  • @bcyoshi22 oh go eat some shit you're so full of it anyways.

  • WHATAYADOIN?! Buy American!!!

  • You rock Nissan. I've been a fan of Hondas for the past 14 years (I'm 32 years old), but you have converted me. Here's to no new gas vehicles in the near future (2030? A man can dream, can't he? :)

  • @jasonphos Honda is already making one that can go twice as far as the leaf, it's using hho dry cell technology to allow the batteries go about 240 miles they say on electric. So do what I'm doing and wait for newer technology.

  • $1500 for one year savings? it wil pay for itself... wow so he is going to keep te car for 20 years??

  • @superboy4you He will be lucky if his battery lasts 3 years and what happens when he is out and realises he can't go more than 40miles before turning back? It's a mad idea! The only thing stopping me when i go out is petrol/diesel stations and I can always put a can in the boot. He would need a generator truck behind him.

  • @urbex2007

wel if you read these wil last for 10 years or more! expect more.

also waranty is 8 years or so.. so no way only 3 years

and if you always drive not taking in to account the gas in your tank then you not really smart and going to end up at the side of the road a lot!

with any car you look at where your going and if it full or almost empty

with this car it wil be maybe a little more

  • @urbex2007

what part of 8 year warranty did you not get?

and you just have to take into account the range you have and what trip your going to make

! maybe for some trips you take your leaf and for others you take you pollutioncar

  • @urbex2007 charging stations will be seen more often. it only takes 30minutes at most to charge and besides that, why would you pay $5.00 a gallon of gasoline when you could be paying less than $3.00 per charge? some charging stations may even be free!!! i.e. Target=)

  • whats the music in the backround? :O!

  • "nissan's finally 1up'ed everyone else"

    bahaha

  • This white kid is spoiled. His mother works at a factory in the midwest and can afford a brand new car for him.

  • @heartlessvietboy What's his race got to do with it? What, he should be ashamed because somebody can afford to help him buy a car? Who peed in YOUR morning Cheerios?

  • I would like to see a crash test, I know they have to build them as light as possible to get the battery lasting longer. Just looks like its made out of aluminum foil.

  • @MTHKITEBOARDS The car has to pass crash testing like any other. What great sixth sense do you possess that tells you it's made from "aluminum foil"? I've driven one extensively and I'm here to tell you it's a real car, not some crap garage conversion.

  • Me too!! Was there last Friday in Pearland Town Center at 4pm! We love the car and yes we took picture (lots of phone pictures) and we even did a video to win the Nissan LEAF!!

  • I love it, this is the first bit of marketing I have seen that targets younger folks. No more asking for gas money! I test drove on 1-7 and 1-8 in Houston, I didn't want to look to crazy so I didn't take my video cam LOL but my best friend and i took pictures and I did the little video thing. Check it out at winaleaf.blogspot.com

  • @shawnbrig "no more asking for gas money", hahahaha ...not a bad advertising angle Nissan

  • @shawnbrig Dang it. I live in Houston too and I missed it. I was gonna go but I forgot. Bet it was an awesome exeperience.

  • Me too!

  • cool
