I just heard on CBC radio yesterday morning about some kids at a high school in a small town near the city where I live who built two motorcycles starting basically from scratch. They had a bit of frame and handlebars, but did the rest themselves. (They were mostly machine-shop students.) Their teacher sounds like an amazing guy.
Oh, and the motorcycles run on the used french fry oil from the school cafeteria.
