  • I love this weapon!

  • You have a very good memory with your techniques, where to swing it and how to avoid it!

I love this art, but right now i'm more interested in posture and the way it wraps around limbs so I can shoot it out and bring it back.

  • looks alot like Wu Dang, the back round that is.

  • @jefferyAparrish

Dafawangsi (Great Dharma King Monastery), nearby Shaolin.

  • Do you use chain whips as well?

  • @Legendthehedgehog

    Yes, nine section.

  • This thing is fucking scary 0.59

  • keep it up

your clothes are pretty no use

  • So cool how he can make it shoot out like striking snake.

  • It'd be amazing to go train with Shaolin Monks, I don't know if it's even possible to though...oh well lol great demonstration, i'm glad to have been able to have watched this.

  • There's a Shaolin monk in NYC, and he holds classes, just can't remember his address though. He was featured on NGC.

  • @sybaris22

Sifu Shi Yan Ming. He's the bomb.

  • yes you can break your own bones with this..! beautiful form, deadly weapon.

  • Can a meteor hammer be in a form of a chain? How heavy can the weight be?

  • hoholilimama,

it can have many variations- chain, twin head, etc..

we usually use a rope, the length of which should be suited to your body. holding one end in your hand, open both arms wide. then let the rope hang from the other hand. the end should be just above the ground.

the head is usually made of iron or copper, and weighs 1 or 2 lbs.

  • 1 or 2lbs is a bit heavy, I've got a couple of meteors and they weigh about 200gs. Ive tried a heavier one before and it gives rope burn like a bitch.

    Awesome weapon though.

  • get a climbing rope, they dont burn

  • excellent wushu meteor hammer demonstration, thanks for posting this rare footage. you get 5 stars from masteringwushu . com

  • Amazing *-* I've been a huge fan of the meteor hammer ever since (I'm a little bit ashamed to admit) seeing Jackie Chan use an improv meteor hammer in Shanghai Noon (a horseshoe tied to the end of a rope, I believe). This was a beautiful routine. Thanks so much.

  • haha! don't be ashamed, I first knew about it from Kill Bill, and it was a Japanese girl using one, not even Jacki Chan.

  • Ha! That's right, I forgot about that. Such an epic fight. It really is a sweet weapon, isn't it?

  • What a beautifal form. I would love to go to Beijing to train with a grandmaster.

  • Really want to go to china and learn shaolin

  • you can, and will if you really want. :)

  • This looks really scary. It can do a lot of damage if you accidentally hit this thing over your head.

  • yes. shi xingsheng is a shaolin disciple of master shi deyang. these are the techniques taught at his school.

  • is this traditional?

  • yeah, it is traditional.
