In this context, marriage between a man and a woman, and having children together, lies at the center of God's plan and is a core purpose and reason for this earth and our life on it. Hopefully, understanding that Mormons have these beliefs makes it easier for you to see why we want to protect the institution of marriage as the union of a man and a woman, and for you to understand that our church is not anti-gay but pro-marriage.
I can't wait to take my girlfriend to the Temple... it is definitely going to be an awesome day that we will never forget. Temple Marriage is the only way to go :)
It sounds like you have never visited any LDS temple. You should go see one when there is an open house near where you live. Everything is open and available to be seen and you are welcome to ask questions of the representatives there. :)
why are there never videos of the actual ceremony from a temple wedding? there are tonnes from catholic, presbeterian, jewish, hindu, buddhist but never of the LDS temple marriage ceremony, seems fishy to me... but congrats, may you have many happy years together.
The thing about the temple ceremony;s are very very sacred and are for you and the person you want to share the rest of eternity with you can invite people into the temple with temple reccomends but a select few....it is so special...
Thanks for your great question, sarakai! I'm going to try and explain a little more about temple marriage :)
A Temple Marriage, or Sealing as it's a little more commonly known as, is one of the sacred ordinances and covenants you can make and receive within one of our temples. A sealing unites a man and woman for time and ALL eternity, instead of it just being "til death do you part."
An eternal marriage can only take place and become just that, an eternal marriage, within the House of the Lord by one holding the Priesthood. By being married in the temple and receiving this blessing, not only does it seal a husband and wife together forever, it also establishes the family unit as an eternal family. Any children that are born to the couple would be considered as being "born in the covenant." If there are children before the temple sealing, they can have them sealed to them.
So, as you can see, we consider this to be a holy covenant being made between ourselves and our spouse and with the Lord also.
Certain ordinances and covenants can only be made inside the temple. That is the main reason why you won't see a temple sealing/marriage ceremony online. It's also why those who not holding a temple recommend and aren't members aren't permitted inside.
This is such a beautiful video. My daughter is getting married in Germany this fall, so we look at videos to get ideas for hers. Your wedding looks so lovely. Thanks for sharing. We are Catholic, and we LOVE the Mormon temple marriage videos on YouTube. They are all just stunning. Best wishes. You look like a great couple.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God.
