yeah so it looks like i was replying to saintly19 but i was actually replying to another person. why doesn't this fucking comment/reply thing ever work properly?
This song brings me to the point of realizing how terrible todays economy is. My girlfriend just told me she wants to go all the way with me, my friends want to do some pot with me, and we've been getting a little drunk now. It's all great...through the eyes of someone who likes this stuff...but for someone like me...it's all the most confusing thing you've ever and will ever expeirience.
ah just lots of shit goin on. my first year of college. surrounded by all sorts of drugs. kind of considering layin off the ganja permanently. don't really know what i want to do with my life. come home to find out my grandparents barely know who the fuck i am. and on top of it my once well off parents are struggling to pay for anything. probably not that bad compared to a lot of people but definately a lot of change at once like you kind of mentioned. anyways this song is somewhat comforting.
that's sort of weird how similar that is to my story. My family's havin' trubble payin for things and me and my friends are experiementing with drugs and drinkin and shit and this song some how gives me nolstalgic thoughts that remind me how inisent people can get caught up with drugs and shit. Sorry, you prob. are just barley following any of this. But ya, to many problems to take on all at once it's crazy. And I'm only 14 so I have barley any experience to start with.
yeah nostalgic is great way of describing this song. it's wierd how this vid can bring out so many past emotions. and past thoughts/memories too. but yeah im not one to give advice or anything but i know i wish i would have got more of my experimenting done in highschool. therefore i wouldn't feel so obligated to do it now. im not encouraging you to do more now but once you're out of highschool you have to choose some sort of direction. and im not condemning against all drugs either.
i think people do tend to exagerate the effects a lot of drugs. but the thought of doing all that shit later in life gives me the chills. anyways my other post didn't end up here. hopefully you get my whole respone. but im sure ppl are sick of reading this so i'll quit my rant.
no dude it's totally fine. I love hearing people who I can relate so much to them talk about how much their life is similar to mine, it's weird, but it's cool to know that I have multiple out there who know what I'm facing, not to make it sound like a big deal though
Pity they removed the nuclear explosions clip to this song - it suited it, although this one does too. Nice use of black and white :) - 3:27 is the best bit.
This song brings to my mind a post apocalyptic world, destroyed by human kind, only structures and solitude remain. A weird feeling of nothingness rules this earth after all life ceased to exist.
For some reason I fucking love that sound that accompanies the beat in a few sections. A table being moved across a metal floor or something? He really knows how to make beautiful stuff out of noise.
Other than Rhubarb (probably my favorite piece of music ever created) this may be Richard's best song. The melody in this song is just ridiculous and that snare drum, where the hell did he find that beautiful sound? He is a modern day musical genius, an errant genius with a warped sense of humor but a genius no matter.
Ditto, some of the videos for this tune are really distasteful. No moral code can justify showing someone kill themselves without warning. Especially for something as meaningless as a youtube video.
this song reminds me of a train ride i took through DC. very dark, gray, and industrial. However, it was incredibly calming just to listen to this song and watch factories and graffiti laced tunnels pass
nevermind. I had to post a text comment so I couldn't watch the vid. Not your fault--I've lived this so many times in my head that no actual visual can take it's place. I'll just write an irrelevant e-mail instead. Peace.
Here, have a refund. Take it to your local Wal-mart and they will bend space-time within your local area so you can spend your five minutes doing something more constructive like sitting and humming.
Nice video, I agree with the comments about the shakiness though. Absolutely love this song, the bit with the waily noises about 2:49 always sends shivers up my spine dunno why
