  • I will echo GreatGig1's comment from two years ago that you are the "Mistress of all Things." I love this video.

  • @robertpina99 thanks Robert, I sort of miss the *innocent* days when all i had was a webcam and a rusty 10 year old Dell! xx

  • BRAVO!!

  • @myjourneytoraw *curtsy* :D

  • i came here thanks to therameenthree, and I only can se that i absolutly agree with him.

One of the best imprevisation i've seen before, if not the best one....

    AMAZING.

  • thank you for such a thoughtful comment. Theramintrees is one of my favourite you-tubers - not just because he is so generous and shared my video, but because he is the real deal.

    thanks again

    Lesley

    :)

  • I hate YT more and more everyday!! I didn't know about this!! :-(

This is a wonderful update of pure brilliance! The title of "Mistress of all Things" still stands!!! :-) xoxoxoxo

  • I never saw this one either. You do an amazing job with your characters. And what a powerful message.

    That there's music...

  • I never saw this before. This is really fantastic.

I can't believe you were just winging it. That's really together. Creativity can overcome so many limitiations. Once again. Phenomenally inspiring work.

  • Thanks Jason- improvisation is so much easier (for me) than doing something scripted. Apparently writing scripts is beyond me as well as that's what I'm meant to be doing right now for school and here I am on YT! LOL

    :)

  • I remember this. I'm glad you remastered it because it's a brilliant work. I really don't think many people understand (or possibly even care) how intertwined all things are on this planet; how the death of one life form, has a slow but sure effect on everything else. And by "life form" I also include oceans and rivers, mountains and deserts, anything and everything that has evolved over eons as vital appendages of Earth.

  • Thanks Marc. I think there are indeed enlightened people who embrace the concept that we are connected to everything - unfortunately the people who are shouting the loudest are the nay-sayers.

  • Totally David Lynchesque! For a sec, I thought I was watching Eraserhead. Love it!

  • Hey Dave! thanks for that - hope you are well :)

  • thank you for watching! :)

  • A wonderful re telling for 09 of the colour they lost, and so longed for. You are a masterful portrayer and loved this again!

  • Thank you cookie - and thanks for the lovely message you just left me on my channel, resident poetess!

  • Brilliant!!

  • Thanks Danny. 100% Recycled- I'm doing my part! ;0

  • Very well acted!. Greetings from Miami.

  • Thank you Miami! :)

  • "We are part of the Earth and it is a part of Us. This we know. The Earth does not belong to Us. We belong to the Earth. ~Chief Seattle~

"What the f*#k is global warming?"

    ~George W. Bush~ aka "Toxic Texan"

  • I think we need to go whoop some butt down in Tejas. ;)

  • Sweetie, I live in Tejas and like The Dixie Chicks...I'm ashamed he was ever our President! The only reason he got his foot in the door as Governor was because people thought Ann Richards had it made. They didn't get out to vote. He never really served his time, because he immediately left the State to campaign. He was our Governor only in Title.

"Whoopin'" is too good for him. Hanging is more like it!

  • Mesmerizing.

  • thank you for watching, very much appreciated!

  • Stunning. I love what you did and why you did it. No matter how much I promised myself no new subs, I had to click the yellow button.Thank you for this video. I hope it goes viral.

  • Thank you for that and for breaking your own rule! LOL

  • Amazing!! You are a very gifted actress, writer, makeup artist. This is the reason I got hooked on your videos back in Italy.

You really have that special star quality that only a few have been gifted with. You shine:) Cindy~

  • Oh Cindy you have been such a wonderful supporter of my videos and you've also made me think about what my core niche is here. Thank you so much. I owe you a lot. xxx

  • This was/is amazing. And so is the performer. You are remarkable, Lesley.

  • Thank you Ann. You needed a break from MJ. ;)

  • It's a LeSaMilano video that taught me poetry in digital format, that beauty resonates long after the computer is turned off, and fish and chips goes better with a pint of ale. Peace and love. Thank you for the magic.

  • Robert. you are a comment guru. Love that. Thank you swami.

  • Silent Summer, Fall, and Winter, too.

    Damn?

  • Damn Nation.

  • Beyond Quality.

  • noice!! ta v much

  • Pure genius! And this was your first? Nobody does it better!!!

  • well my first acting gig...had made just a few videos prior to this one - most of which have been binned! You'll thank me, believe me.

  • Something old, something new, something borrowed...

And this was before formal training!!! This is your Mr Werk, or whatever they call it!

  • Roquefort?

haha - I tried my damndest to re-werk the sound pops and crackles from my old web cam but to no avail - so I just added more noise!

  • I'm lost for words.. or maybe just lost.. :) :)

  • You could make a model of a map!

  • No need to make them, you can buy them as ready made accesories in any scale down to 1/72.. :) :)

  • No, you're right here. Well not right HERE but right here>>> XOX

  • According to my son I have never been quite right.. Not that I have a clue what he means.. :) :)

  • Lesley your videos always surprise me not just the ideas you come up with but the thought and work i know you do making them how entertaining they are. I cant think of one video that didnt give me enjoyment to watch.

  • Thank you Kim, I am so flattered! wow!

  • Me lo ricordo benissimo questo tuo video. Uno dei migliori che ho mai visto su ytube :))

  • Grazie infinite Laz. xx

  • I too, remember this video and it was as much a masterpiece then as it is now.

  • Thank you Tam. It's wonderful to have such a good reception for a recycled video! LOL

  • I never saw this then but am very glad i've seen it now well done:D

  • Thank you! It's been quite some time since the original upload...I couldn't believe it when I realized it was done well over two years ago. TIme flies!

  • THIS was Fabulous!

    What a post-apocalyptic production.

Your make-up and characters were terrific, and as a woman I can appreciate the courage for donning that holocaust look. And the teeth....ha ha!! Awesome!

Is this a peek into our future,....... I wonder.

  • Thanks Lisa! You've been so prolific lately- and have inspired me to start making new videos again. You're so wonderfully creative.

  • This is STILL one of my fav vids....

It is a true work of art ;)

so sad, so many look down on the native Americans - but I fear they got it right - Seven Generations is now a green product with the philosophy of being mindful of your actions...I just hope it's not too late, or else this vid could become our reality....

  • You can't be serious.

  • Serious, 'bout what Stefan?

That this vid is a work of art or that we need to take care of mother earth ('cause she's all we got)? :)

  • Amen.

  • No. The work is art. The earth is cooling, not warming. The ozone layer is unaffected by humans

  • Resources, pollution of land/air & sea...or is there not an island of plastic the size of Texas in the Pacific?

All I said was we must be mindful of our actions, think of future generations & the impact - such as resources...you live in CA, you know we are having a water shortage - are we mindful of these things? Or does our ego say - to hell with it - I want beautiful green grass today? :)

  • Say what?!? Isaaaaaaay "whaaaaat?" Let's just say 'She makes a lovely video' and leave the suedo intellectualism for elsewhere? Shall we? No? ok

  • Well now see, there is two things we can agree on - It's a great vid & that this is pretty silly, isn't it? lol

  • Lesley made the first video that told I could make my own art. She might be the first friend I had here.

Now, 300+ videos later, she still inspires me.

  • Yeah, she's cool that way... ;)

  • aw shucks!

  • Comment removed

  • Ditto!

  • I still love ya Stefan Meeder - I wait! theres more! I still have that video clip you made for me which will show it's face one day in a special collab. :)

  • Its twice the size of Texas!

  • Thank you Ali! I wrote something about the Seven Generations brand toilet roll in another reply before I read yours- Loved reading the debate below.

  • this is still one of the best YT i've ever seen Lesley & it's great to see it again :)

  • wow thanks Andy! It took my old Dell 16 hours to render this is the larger wide format - so needless to say I won't be 'remastering' anything else for some time! LOL

  • This was an iconic work for me when I saw it a couple of years ago — staggering range of creativity and insight in this piece. And just like a good wine, it only improves with age!

  • Thank you:)

Speaking of staggering - I do believe a nice bottle of red is awaiting my presence!! LOL

  • You know Lesley, this is the first time I have seen this-I cant believe I havent seen it till now. I love it.

I love how you decided to keep the ball rolling by organically developing each character.

  • Thanks Ben. This was really a turning point in my you tube 'career' - I realized I still enjoyed playing dress-up! LOL

  • Wonderful now..and then. Hugs, Chris

  • thank you Chris, in so many ways. I love always knowing you're here. x

  • I remember this well. Nice to see a remastered version.

    5/5

  • You wore a gown of gold I was all in blue

    Am I getting old?

    Oh no! Not you!

How strong you were, how young and gay

A prince of love in every way

Ah yes! I remember it well

    :)

  • ok now ... lights out ... nighty-nite - sleep tight! mmmm-ah!

  • knock knock...it's morning ....here's your caffe

  • whew ... back in kansas - such dreams, already!

  • I loved this then and I love it now. You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you. Much love, Van

  • Thank YOU Van. you're one of the people that inspires me most here and I have learned so much from you by way of your compelling vlogs, humor and wonderful sense of style.

    xox

  • Lesley, the original video was why I subscribed and this remastered version is a perfect example of why I continue to watch every video of yours to this date.

Second time around and THE COLOUR BLUE is still an eye-opening masterpiece of improvisation and thought. Very effective and with this edit, it's become a truly polished, affecting short, worthy of any film festival prize there might be.

    Hugs, Caleb

  • You are truly a gentleman Caleb. Funny I watched a few of your films not long ago and can't believe you've not been 'discovered' yet. Keep going...you are going somewhere!!

thanks for your lovely comment. my friend

    xox

    :)

  • Oh...This piece is only one of the many reasons I love watching your vidz!

Keep on truckin Leslie sugar! xoxox JoJo

  • thanks dahlink! Remastering this took quite some time because I didn't want to mess with it too much - but I did shave off nearly three minutes (shhh- no on has noticed) and I think that gives it a bit more watch-ability for the short attention span theatre of You Tube! LOL

  • You should seriously consider submitting this film... Its screams Global Warming to me.. it would others. Its amazing Lesly, I remember this was the first video I ever saw of yours and I subscribed immediately. Ive been a fan since. You are a wonderful woman, you inspire. Much love to you as always. xxx

  • Thank you Tess. I actually was going to submit this to a couple of film festivals - still might do that when I iron out just a couple of kinks that I see in it. Thank you so much for your kind words- AGAIN! you're lovely xx

  • the air was so polluted and full of dust in Phoenix last week that this almost describes the feeling we had of impending disconnectedness.

is that a word? excellent video.

  • I love the impendingness of disconnectedness. Phoenix is not fun when the dust kicks up.

  • I loved this both times!

  • thanks Huey. How you dorin?

  • You put so much into this. Great makeup, great ecclectic story line. Lobster Bisque is still my inspiration

  • I prefer crab, but the method is the same ;)

  • It's all so very overrated, this video making thing. I mean, what's the point?

  • Yeah. Shouldn't you be trying to make money from your endeavors? ;)

  • I already do that.

  • The videos

  • Nobody is going to pay me for that.

  • YouTube is a video sharing website on which users can upload and share videos. Three former PayPal employees created YouTube in February 2005. By November 2006, YouTube was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion.

  • Lesley this is such a brilliant video, thanks for reposting it and reminding me (it has been tucked away in my favourties for a long time, good to dust it off!!)

  • I have wanted to redo this video for a while to keep up with You tuber's bigger video format - now that it's bigger I may need to do more dusting! haha

    Thanks Mary :)

  • Not only is The Color Blue one of the best vids on YT, it's one of the best ever artistic statements on our responsibility to the environment ... I don't think you could improve it -- but you haven't hurt it -- haha. Les, it's been awhile and I've slept since then but this makes me remember how much I enjoyed discovering your vids back in the "old days." You're still a genius with concepts and it's been a pleasure to see your technical skill grow over the last couple of years -- love you girl!

  • aww Liz,*blushes* thank so much. I am happy so many people have responded positively to this video - over and over again! Time for some new material - how about 'the Colour Blueish ? ;)

  • So compelling; a stunning piece!

  • thanks Marie - it's one of my early vids so sound was a bit iffy to deal with - so I just added more! LOL

  • The previous rendition (on my faves) shews over 13000 hits. fab.

  • it's still plugging along...thought I'd freshen it up a bit!

  • Third! - or is it eigth xx

  • first in my book! :)

  • .......[goes and staggers into wardrobe]

  • Great to see this again in remastered form!!! I love the Indian thing in the description about the 7 generations. Too few people even think one generation ahead these days, much less 7:(

  • Yea only a few of us dwell on the ghosts of our past... Look what it did for me...

Wait... Better find a better example

    vbg

  • Thanks Blink - nowadays it seems the only thing people *may* know about the 7th generation philosophy is what the label says on the toilet paper brand '7th Generation'! LOL

  • I always thought this was very imaginative and genuine... Good to see it again...

  • ps you can see some blue on my last vid VEG

  • thanks Pappy. I am getting too anal about the black bars on the sides of the videos! LOL

  • First!!! And now I shall go and view the masterpiece that awaits me:)

  • turkey!

    he he he

  • Dang it!!! Oh well, I guess there's worse things in the world than being second to PappyStu. I'll have to be a little quicker on the trigger next time.

  • you weret first... foremost... and always

  • I was reading the timestamps wrong it appears. Looks like you must be back from your fishing trip with Battlebaub. At least I assumed you guys were going fishing. Hmmm, I see you've made a couple of posts and I'm as usual far behind.

  • Yea I'm taking him to the Airport this morning... Rufus Woods had an 85% increase in anglers this year when the news got out of a busted fish pen releasing 35,000 fish and they nailed it hard... So the fishing was not good... But he saw some sights...

  • agreed

  • turkey spam! ;)

  • aha! you beat Pappy by a nose hair. Or a turkey feather. LOL
