This was a pretty decent plot, although this version of Moriarty is a total ham. At least his goons can put up a fight. Also was that a total copout ending or what? Hound, Watson et al just disappear and despite Lestrade getting the statue, Moriarty still got away with most of the gold bars (there were still a few in the plane).

He's a narcissist? I think that explains his reasons rather succinctly. He's just being decidedly moreso in this instance. In general, though, he seems to sign everything, either with an 'M' or a doodle of his head. As for the other questions... That is curious. No real closure to this one, really- no epilogue with the kid or anything..
