  • thanks to blackberryjuice1 and listening to this again I must say I may revise my comments on the holocaust as I research more

  • Paula, as you probably know by now, it's actually a sound installation by artist Max Neuhaus commissioned by the city. It's called Times Square. No, you're not going crazy and no, it's not the rumblings of a ghost world, LOL! Hope this helped.

  • are u serious? It is not an exhaust fan?

  • No, I promise. Google it "Max Neuhaus Times Square".

  • Maybe he intentionally modeled the sounds after Tibetan chants. I'm sure he'd be amused by your analysis, as many others have claimed to have discovered the sounds themselves. According to you, it's not just an attempt at bliss in the middle of urban commercial chaos, that is layering your presentation of Tibetan politics...

  • I just googled it...this is amazing really amazing....I thought it was just an exhaust fan and was wondering why I never heard anything like it elsewhere....can one take tours?

  • I was just now riding my bike down broadway after a long and finally productive day at MNN...I was blissing out but didn't pay attention to the tibetan exhaust fan

  • Hi Paula!

    That's called an exhaust fan.

  • have you been there? Why do you not hear this all over town as there must be such fans else where?

  • whats the desire world?

  • Hi Paula!

Very annoying that yet again, I can only view the beginning of one of your videos, then it cuts out! I would think the sound coming out of the grating in Times Square is the constant drone of "the desire world"!

  • delt thinks it is a fan
