I guess you should read it again then as u cleraly must have missed the chapter about how the palestinians got expelled (wich is the the main thing about the book)! How once can come here and praise Papes book and then say that the palestinians left freely in 1948 is just beyond comprehension.

It's in chapter 4, "Between Nakbah & Independence", specifically pp. 129-131 "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (March-May 1948)". I didn't miss those three pages! It's just the Morris line of thinking. And I do not deny not aknowledge it. How can I know?
I praise Ilan Pappe's book not because of those three pages. But because of the 278 pages in which he succesfully traces the history of Palestine from the Ottoman times to the present day. It's a brilliant account.

Bullshit, have you even read Ilan pappes book? Or any book on that subject for that matter. Sure that was the israeli version once upon a time, but that narrative got proven a lie as far back as in the sixties, and few modern israeli historians claim that nowadays. The palestinians got etnichaly cleansed and expelled from their lands as Ilan Pappe, Benny Morris, Norman G. Finkelstein and other historians have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I have read Ilan's Pappe's History of Modern Palestine, as well Dershowitz's "The Case for Israel". Both are very enlightening and inspiring.
No-one rejects Benny Morris' claims of ethnic cleansing.
The real conflict is not between Israelis and Palestinians, and not even between the Muslims and the Jews. It's between the moderates of both camps on one hand, and violence, extremism on the other. Mr Finkelstein belongs to the latter, not the former. He's as much a radical as Meir Kahane!

What's important is what will happen from now. 76% of Palestinians and Israelis are in favor of a two-state solution. That's good news! The population is fed up with the politicians and ideologists, who have been unable to put an end to the conflict. They are fed up with extremists on both sides.
I know that one day, the voice of the citizens will be heard and there will be an end to the occupation, and the extablishment of an independent, viable Palestinian state at peace with Israel.

Most historians agree that most of the Arabs who left, did so willingly. They bet on the fact that the armies of the neighboring arab countries would annihilate the Jewish population of Israel in a matter of days. Then, surprisingly to everyone, the Jews won that war. They became refugees while those arabs who did not leave made a better choice.
Left willingly or forced out, the fact remains that there was a terrible war coming and those people were on the side of the ennemies.
