Technique and strength go hand in hand, you can't beat someone twice as strong as you with just technique. And bringing your body down is really for rotational strength and saving your joints from injury. The only way to really use your body is to literally hang on someones arm and if both your feet are off the ground the other guy is obviously too strong for you anyway, plus that would be cheating.
