The Eisenhower administration asked Disney to make this film (and the book) to appeal to children and make nucliear fission seem fun and safe instead of scary and dangerous. Mind control in the finest form.
I have this book, I fortunately scored it for a buck at my local used book store. Never got the privilege of seeing it in school, because I was in a private school with "funde" ways.
@JokerVidProductions yes, this is about atoms, the quackedemic nuclear atoms, which do not exist. They were a bad theory which has been debunked since their devious inception. Yet this garbage is still taught in Universities and schools etc.
9:42@Aristotle Take a piece of wood. Set it on fire. The smoke released contains small particles of soot, which are rising. Small particles can rise: they don't need to fall like pebbles.
@SpaceTime4D Soot wasn't thought of as earth. Everything was considered a combination. For example, birds have solid bodies, so they must have contained earth, but because they can fly, they must've also contained some air.
It looks like he's holding a rock -- probably unrefined uranium ore. In that case, it's mostly other minerals with a tiny bit of uranium. What uranium is in the rock is probably a natural mixture of U238 (99.3%) & U235 (0.7%), plus their respective decay products in equilibrium concentrations. It would be reasonably safe to hold for a limited amount of time. Much of the radiation would be alpha, but since there would also be uranium decay products you'd probably also get some gamma and beta.
@Janktrio Lol. Uranium is not really as bad as most people think. Uranium-238, which is probably what he is holding, since it is the most common form of the element, only emits alpha particles at a very, very slow rate. Whats more is that those alpha particles would have an EXTREMELY hard time penetrating human skin... or even a piece of paper. Haha. =D
Atom, atomos = Atma, Atma-os.. undivided, check the Vedant in the consciousnes based vedic literature. mum.edu

Disney's FANTASY LAND
Pretty much says it all! Absolute mind control fantasy programming for the dumbed down masses. The nuke atom is a fraud to the core!

@FutureImagineerRCT3
Well I knew about alpha particles before but not how safe uranium actually is. Thanks for the info!
