I heard this once on an old time radio show and realized what a man Tex RItter was. The message really resonated with me. It is clear that so often a man's true worth just goes unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of life and it takes a special person who can see potential in somebody. I think it is for each of us to look for special value in the people we meet and encourage them while they are still on this earth.
My Dad had the 78 of this, and I inherited when he died, but sadly it got broken. it was the "B" side of "green grow the lilacs". It was always one of my favourites and I still know all the words.
@tosie53 Think it was on a album so 33 rpm. Think it was Just Beyond the Moon. My Dad had it and I copied it to cassette about 30 years ago and still have that tape.
NOBODY did a recitation like Tex Ritter...!

We used to play this at KVEG Radio in Las Vegas in 1963 when I was a deejay there. It is a great recording.

I love this old song. I've looked for it a long time. So beautiful. That's the way with us when The Master touches us. Our creator knows what to do.
