tai chi y ba gua son taoistas, ambos se realizan sobre un ying-yang de gran tamaño. al ba gua tambien se conoce como PA CUA que tambien es el nombre del octagono donde aparecen los 8 trigramas con el ying-yang dentro.
Tired of people posting without knowing what they are talking about... And in my book, Bagua Zhang is superior to Wing Chun at high level. Wing Chun is better at low level. And, of course, at the highest level, both are equal. :P
@KelGhu always depends of the practitioner. everyone progresses at different speed, and most never attain highest level because of limitations. except the individual highest, but usually not even that. also some styles suits certain persons better than others so one should try several until her finds one that suits him, and then ultimately no matter which the chosen style(s) may be at highest level one will customize it to be more of a personal style. this is common for many martial arts
@DonMega187 I partially agree here. Like Yan Chang-Fusaid, most people that do external styles cannot understand the power of softness because they don't believe in it. Most external practitionners cannot meditate and do not do Qi Gong (they just don't have the willpower). They are limited by their own thinking and will never reach a high level. Though reaching mid level is very easy with external styles giving them the feeling they know, whereas it is difficult in internal style.
@KelGhu i totally agree with you, in my neijia quan training the few times a technique has been successful both myself and my practice partner have had no idea what happened(they, through a successful technique flooring them and myself not having a true grasp of the internal power)

OH nice video, but yeah it`s baguazhang instead of Taichi, WC Taiji, Bagua. it`s Practise and training that sets the styles apart isn`t it.
I mean one week of WC training isn`t gonna beat 22 years of Taichi hardened battle experience. It`s not the name on the t-shirt, it`s how much wear is on the sleeves. something like that no?
That is very poor imitation of BaguaZhang not TaijiQuan. I really enjoyed the Ip man movies but this fight really annoyed me, The person supposedly doing Bagua is really very poor.
@MechPhantom Stop saying wing chun is better then others cuz it all depends on the fighter it self on how well it use it.Stop giving kungfu a bad name.
too bad this movie belittles so many other martial arts.. no disrespect to wing chun.. i am also learn wing chun.. but sometimes these movies send out the wrong message and wrong perception.. wing chun is same like all others martial arts.. it all depend on the martial artist how he learn and train the body..
@Terryltk it doesn't belittle. the way the martial arts community in hong kong was structured at the time something like this may have well taken place. and if you watched the first film he always said it is not the style it is the man. Wing chun just allows a person to learn to defend themselves effectively in a short time. And donnie Yen is not even a true wing chun stylist. He is a kung fu/wushu expert who trained from ip chun for the movies.
It had to be theatrical for the sake of the movie, and so that the movie can appeal to a wider audience. Bagua and Wing Chun might actually work well together.
@2jgard Actually Wing Chun, is a bit theatrical, but Donnie Yen's portrayal of it is a very possible rendition of the art. The realism isn't in the form or the application but rather at his reaction speed. I don't think I've ever seen someone with the quickness and reaction speed Donnie Yen portrays in the film.

A very stylized and theatrical version of both arts. Wing Chun and Bagua that is. Unlikely that a real fight would be that stylized.
