Andy - I will explain this as best I can. You would simply take a higher deductible on your insurance, which would cut your payments. The money you would save, you would put in the account. Then, not only would you be able to save money on premiums - if you don't use the money in the tax account you spend it as you see fit at the end of the year. And, you get a tax break. It really is a good idea, but the media will not discuss it because they have their own agenda and it is Obamacare.

Another option instead of obama's socialist health care is to give us tax deductions for having a health care savings account so we can spend our own money on routine health care instead of turning to insurance. All of those things should be tried before wrecking our econony. The United States has prospered BECAUSE we aren't socialist like other countries. Andy - I will explain this as best I can. You would simply take a higher deductible on your insurance, which would cut your payments. The money you would save, you would put in the account. Then, not only would you be able to save money on premiums - if you don't use the money in the tax account you spend it as you see fit at the end of the year. And, you get a tax break. It really is a good idea, but the media will not discuss it because they have their own agenda and it is Obamacare.

You will still have health insurance premiums, but on top of that, you will be taxed in all sorts of ways they have not disclosed, like the food you eat if they deem it unhealthy, beverages, etc. Then, you will have taxes to pay for the health care on top of that. Compared to practically every other country in the world, his plan is about as watered down as a far as government involvement as a health plan could get. I don't see many people complaining about Medicare. That's socialized medicine. What about VA benefits? What about social security? When the government takes over an industry being run by the private sector, then taxes the private sector to operate it...it's socialism. The so called mainstream media doesn't report on the alternatives being talked about...there are alternatives. Instead of Obama's socialized health care: Expand medicare to cover those who don't have insurance. End the insurance protection racket and let us buy our insurance from anyone we want, not just companies within our state. That is the law now...and it benefits insurance companies. This will create competition, and competition will lower prices and increase the quality of service.

No, I got them from the Census Bureau report. The 12 million represent people who either do not have employer coverage, are unemployed , do not qualify for Medicaid or cannot afford to purchase coverage, In either of the cases, I think you would term being without health insurance coverage is INVOLUNTARY. Before ridiculing others, perhaps you could spend a few minutes reading the CB 2006-2007 report on Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States.

You lose thew point to the whole thing the federal Government in Canada does not control the health we receive it is done by the Provincial Government . They do not have access to our bank accounts and they do not have the final say in what is done as far as our health s coverage and what our doctors can say and do. The federal Government gives the money for health care to the province in the form of a transfer payment and a percentage of that transfer payment goes to health care

The estimate on the military vote is ~55-45. Hardly overwhelming and surprisingly close given McCain's (heroic) service in the Navy.
Obama is generally very popular among active military. Maybe not among F-22 pilots, because he's finally stopping construction on a plane that has yet to fly one mission in Afghanistan or Iraq. Another example of sensible--as opposed to bought--leadership.
