  • Omg the people are enjoying themselves!!!..kill them all!!!

  • "stop talking during a concert!"

(proceeds to yammer about bullshit for 4 minutes)

  • did he say the guy he "attacked" was devendra banhart???

  • @iamnotchemistry No he just said the guy looked like devendra banhart, so aka your typical hipster with long hair, and he didn't really attack the kid by the sounds of it. He was provoked by the kid grabbing his face from behind, and so jeff being the kind man that he is graciously escorted him off the stage.

  • Im so gagged out by the way the crowd are laughing at his EVERY word, funny or not. Nothing worse than a sycophantic, over eager audience.

  • @flowerdoodle exactly. so fucking obnoxious.

  • @flowerdoodle SO true, you hit the nail on the head, the audience sucks and he talks way too much and from what I've heard Wilco hasn't released anything interesting in the better part of 10 years.

  • @lmrdjm275 Yes....well, their best work, as far as I can tell, is Yankee Hotel Foxtrot--its a masterpiece to me. Some songs on Sky blue Sky are really good. The last one, w the camel on the cover, stunk

  • @flowerdoodle Really? It was similar to their older stuff. It wasn't bad at all.

  • Does this guy actually play or is he a comedy act? I've clicked on 3 or 4 or his videos now and every single one is him talking. I think maybe he should consider taking his own advice here.

  • @stuco Vicodin makes you talk a lot. :-)

  • I don't care if he shits on the audience --the guy is a genius. So pay your money and play by his rules. Maybe if you were seeing some weak shit like Wavves you could complain, but this is a different league.

  • @vealcutlet, my thoughts exactly. Wouldn't you rather be completely immersed in the gig instead of only giving the artist half your attention and trying to capture a photo that, nine times out of ten, just comes out like a blurry mess? Why not just treasure the memory? It shits me the way every single moment has to be recorded by the youth of today, as though they aren't there to just enjoy it, they're there to prove something. I say good on Jeff for this. More power to him.

  • Hey, maybe Jay was right.

  • was at wilco gig last night. Jeff was a dick and said no one was allowed to take any pics or any vid of them. A person took a pic or something and he freaked out and told the security to get the guy. I lost a lot of respect for him and do think he is a bit of a pre-madonna. He kept saying it was rude???? how is it rude to take a picture of a band you like when you charge 20 pounds (not dollars) for a gig. He needs to relax and appreciate the fans for paying his bills!!!

  • @trailofd3ad I dont think you ever stood on a stage with flashbulbs going off.Ever lost your vision by a camera flash going off in your face? Imagine trying to perform your best in that situation and If your paying 20 pounds for the show would you want the entertainment distracted by people needing that photo of validation? Think outside the box and sorry to tell you your take on the situation is selfish. I believe he his just trying to be a professional, trying to give his best...

  • @inspirationx1 Actually I've stood on a stage several times as a musician. And as far as the flash going off. There was no flash on the camera! Even if there was, it would have been greatly overpowered by all the storbe lighting and smoke machine!!! Besides it was a fan paying to see the show. It would have been enough for him to say please no pics, but he went on this big rant and then played as song and then went back to his rant against the kid. This is anything but professional.

  • @trailofd3ad

So true. This guy is infatuated with the sound of his own voice. Empty words dude. Yawn.

  • @druickd Yeah, the crowd really seems to be hating it.

  • @druickd So true, the success went to his head big time.

  • @trailofd3ad Why do you feel entitled to take a picture? If the band feels that it will detract from their performance, that's their prerogative. If you don't like that Wilco doesn't want pictures taken of them, you have the right to not spend your 20 quid and stay home. It's their show. It doesn't make them arrogant or dicks if they want to create an environment that allows them the best chance to perform at their highest level. Leave your expectations at the door and enjoy the great music.

  • @vealcutlet

Dude. When I pay 20 quid, it IS all about my expectations. What?

  • FWIW, all I know is some chick at Folk Fest this year said she used to date him and that he was a major asshole. Whatevs, his set was great.

  • @Soopahmahn -- Oh, well if some chick at Folk Fest said it then it must be true.

  • I don't know how anybody could believe that I guy like Tweedy would ever attack a fan. He seems like the most chill guy in existence.

  • Yeah if somebody comes on stage while you are playing you never really know what they plan to do even if you are a nobody like me. It's a good way to catch a bass guitar to the face if you get too close. I'm sure "big names" are even more paranoid after what happened to Dime.

  • i don't want artists normal per-se but i do like it when they're relate-able.

  • I was there in Springfield, MO when it happened- stupid kid had a gleeful look on his face like he was X'd up or somethin' and he was happier than shit to be on stage with his heroes...

He thought it'd be great to give Jegg a hug from behind while he was playing prolly thinkin'- I LOVE YOU MAN!!!!

    BIG mistake...

Tweedy felt real bad about it afterward and it showed.

  • @yoursaxman Jegg = Jeff... oops!

  • micey poo thats a retarted comment on every level. especially if u think about the amount of well known artists whose personalities u actually now, vs how many u dont. how old r u. theres no way ur making it much longer

  • FUNNY!

  • I keep hearing things about how Jeff Tweedy is arrogant, or an asshole, whatever, but man, I ain't seeing it. I think he seems like a normal dude with incredible talent.

  • You are right, people expect artists to be like normal 9 to 5 joes. Tweedy's an artist, If they were "normal" they would be your co-worker about to re-fill their coffee cup. Artists don't see things the way most people do, that's what makes them an artists and other people spectators. People say that about Michael Jackson, "oh, ok he's been acquitted but isn't he weird?" Exactly, I like my artists weird. I don't want normal people artists.

  • retarted statement

  • way to articulate. a lot of people respond to things they don't like by saying "Ohhhh, that's stupid" then start launching personal attacks.

  • i'm with you dude, i find him hilaroius. from the beginning of my wilco fanhood i thought he might be an asshole cause i read about all the former members and lineup changes, but he just seems like he really enjoys what he does

  • agreed. he's a humble spirit.

  • @joe44850 people hate geniuses

  • I don't know much about this guy, yet, but I have to say, the ability to talk to a crowd as well as he does is a big plus when people are paying for a performance. I was entertained just listening to him speak, let a lone the music I have heard.

  • "Next day: Tweedy attacks fan!" LMFAO

  • That guy deserved to be punched. For all Jeff could have known that guy could have attacked him. Its important for concerts to have security for reasons like this. If any random stranger came up behind me and put his hand on my forehead and kissed me on the cheek, I would probably punch him too. And I'm a very passive person when it comes to conflict.

  • long live tweedy!

  • Jeff Tweedy is the man.

  • I was at that show in Springfield and I must say that I felt very bad but at the same time I loved when Jeff hit the dude

  • What's with all the anti-Tweedy sentiments here? He's a cool guy, and he did what any performer would naturally do. I don't get why this upsets people so much.

  • Airline to heaven. Whoo? Please curb your woo-ing.

  • Heaven forbid a talented musician tells a story on stage...

Go listen to Nickelback and Staind if you just want to bash the guy. Wilco is a great band that doesn't get enough credit from the mainstream. Not that they need it, I just think they should be rewarded for making great music.

  • I was at the concert in Springfield. I am just glad that they didn't stop everything down right then and go home. They fought through it and I am glad.

  • all these haters and dissenters are idiots

  • are you in love with him?

  • sooooo awesome.

  • fuck you.

    asshole, below me.

  • i love jeff.

  • you have no soul, and you are satan.

  • You've not got a talent for spelling have you?

  • I saw Wilco a few years ago in London, they were so quiet, I got told to be quiet about 10 times by members of the audience for talking too loud. I was a bit squiffy at the time.

  • He's hilarious.

  • I saw him in Glasgow during the summerteeth tour. He was a bit of an ass, not a happy pup.

  • jeff tweedy is a legend complete nutter like

  • Tweedy is cock.

  • That was the right thing to do. What would you do if someone comes up to you in the street trying to grab you?

  • yeah...i was at that springfield show at the shrine when that guy jumped up on stage. he kissed tweedy on the cheek too.

  • Tweedy is God

  • omg that is AWESOME. jeff, you rule. good for you!

  • he vanquished the jackass

  • no your a jackass you twat

  • Jeff tweedy is quite the badass, you mean. You spelled BAD incorrectly. It's BAD

  • the both of you can calm down

    *dumbasses
