  • Brian Eno made the '95 startup sound!

  • windows vista was a beta for windows 7.Also windows 7 has the same startup sounds and shutdown sounds.

  • 2K AND ME

  • @francogbaba1 I think it's the same as Windows 7

  • @francogbaba1 same like the SUKING vista shutdown right?

  • vista shutdown sucks really sucks

  • @Desturdy2019 Why do you think the system sucked in the first place? Wasn't just the fact that the OS sucked in general. :V

  • the windows 2000 shutdown sound was only on windows 2000 server family not windows 2000 itself i will put the real sound

  • Ahh... The good old days.

  • i like windows 2k

  • Actually, Windows 2000 and Me have the same sounds and GUI, only the architecture is different.

  • @megamanfan3 "2000 and me?" i can't imagine you talking like a pc startup sound.

    :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @megamanfan3 what is the architecture?

  • @Eric9233 WinMe uses the Win9x architecture while Win2000 uses the WinNT architecture. Future Windows OSes up to Win7 all use the NT architecture.

  • @megamanfan3 Also, Windows 2000 is tecnically a server OS, WIndows Me is more like Windows 98.

  • @rcmerod52 more like "Windows 2000 is Windows XP without stuff like themes.

  • STILL LOVING XP

  • Windows 3.1 is missing the shutdown sound... I think it's "chimes".

however, WfW 3.11 somehow didn't include the tada-sound anymore, so it had chimes both for start as well as shoutdown.

  • I meant shutdown, not "shoutdown" *g*

Also, Win95 had "tada" as shutdown sound.

BTW, the Win98 sounds still don't sound quite right.

  • what are you a critic?

  • What? At least I've something meaningful to say... What do you think this comment feature is there for?

If you think I wrote that because I want to bash the creator, you are mistaken. Instead I hope my comments may be helpful, e.g. if they want to make a new video.

To the creator: I hope you're not offended because I critized your video. It's just that negative critics - supposed they are actually valid - are actually MORE helpful than positive ones, because you can learn something from them.

  • I don't hear one for 95 either, I just hear the startup one ("The Microsoft Sound")

  • Does Windows 3.1 have a shutdown sound? When I had 3.1 "tada" wasn't the startup but there was a shutdown one called "mystery.wav" it sounded pretty cool.

But the thing was that I got it used to whoever had it changed the settings...

  • Wow, great compilation! Brings back some old memories :D Thanks!

  • Windows 2000/ME Shutdown music was different than that!

  • I actually think it was one of the business versions of Windows 2000 that had that sound. I think it might have been Advanced Server, or Datacenter.....

  • Does Windows 3.1 have a shutdown sound?

  • Yes, chimes.

  • NT 4.0 startup and shutdown rules!

  • I love windows 98 shutdown....great

  • @braccobaldoroar me too

  • The windows 98 shutdown sound makes me want to cry hard ;(

  • i laughed at the vista shutdown

    its only 2 beeps lol

  • Yeah it sucks! The vista beta shutdown was very nice! It was a woman signing!

  • where did you get the windows 2000 and windows me shutdown sounds?

  • On his Windows 2000/ME computer.

Well there are some computers running 2000/me that doesn't have a shutdown sound. I dont know why.

  • By default, the shutdown sound isn't set to play.

  • Unless it is XP or Vista ... that's probably why I never heard my old Windows 98 PC playing the shutdown sound ... the PSU eventually blew up in January 2007 after nearly 8 years.

  • Windows 200/ME and I believe it was 98 were the ones set to not play it.

  • SO COOL! lol

  • lol at the windows 3.1 start up..

  • i always loved the windows 95 shutdown.

  • If you like the 95 shutdown than you like 3.1 startup

  • nice work man

    it is cooooool video

  • Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 have the Shutdown!!

Windows 3.1 has the Shutdown as the Windows For Workgroups 3.11 Startup. Windows 95 the TADA sound for the Shutdown. You, in the updated version of this, you should put Windows For Workgroups 3.11, 3.2, NT 5.0 Beta, 99, and MFE, Server 2003, Server 2008.

  • Windows Me Dose not Have A Shutdown Sound

  • yes it does it has same has windows 2000

  • yes it does, I still use it, but he still put the wrong shutdown sound. I set my sound scheme to windows default and there was a shutdown sound. I'm sure it was not modified, I had just rebooted my hard drive. When you boot windows me at first, it has no shutdown sound but if you set it to windows default, it does.

  • For Windows 3.1 you should use the chimes.waw sound since that is the default.

  • Downgrade to Windows 2000 Professional today!
