Hoda Kotb is STILL loved in New Orleans. In just a few years, she became a brand name in N.O. Of course being on the number one station in town might have helped. But she had such a sweet personality with just a hint of spice.
The same thing happened at Arlington in July 1985 (not sure of the exact date) and the rest of that year's meet had to be moved to Hawthrome with the exception of the Arlington Million

I remember this . i was like 12 when this happened. Hota Kotb left wdsu not too many months after this, though, to advance her career.

Fortunately, it has since been rebuilt and reopened. :)
