  • 24 ppl hate that jimi is THE best guitarist ever to date n the world will end that way.

  • this might be the prettiest thing I've ever heard.

  • Why would you listen to Jimi if you are going to hit the dislike button? The only thing to dislike is the fact that he is gone.

  • interesting how jimi through this amp has more of a SRV tone

  • @ropewalkingelephant How can he have more of an SRV tone if this was before SRV's time?

  • @Samstrat94 i know what you mean :P. i just meant the sound of the guitar, amp and recording, it sounds a lot like SRV's typical tone.

  • ooh lordy ...

  • I just wish Paul's harmonica was louder. Otherwise, this is simply brilliant.

  • If there was someone else out there that could play like this, they would not have been able to hide it !!! This is absolutely Jimi !

  • @gtrxplaya Did you mean ''No one can...'? 'Cause if you did you're a dead man.

  • You do not need "little research" ... this is Jimi WTF !

  • Oh my God, where is the rest of this recording?

  • idk how anyone with ears can hear jimi hendrix playing guitar and NOT know that it's him. WHO ELSE CAN PLAY LIKE HIM? NONE

  • who's on organ detai?

  • one....two....thre...

    liftofffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

  • Hella Jimi

  • @terb177 Jimi didn't say that, it's someone else. But I'm not saying that this isn't Jimi playing.

  • this is fucking awesome

  • Happy birthday Legend <3

  • Does'nt seem Jimi... :( It is a good player, nevertheless is not Jimi... Not Jimi touch, not Jimi riff

  • @aldoguru

its an old jimi and all the other musicians in this piece that are still alive recall it

    ie. winwood in an interview

before hednrix was found he played in bars all the time and was considered more a gospel twist on blues/jazz before the media found him however and fucked everything up

  • @igessthsisgrwnup Thanks a lot. Now makes sense...

  • @aldoguru

haha i do what i can

sorry i was fuckin stoned or something when i wrote that but it is jimi nontheless if you listen to his older recordings his style was differentish

  • @aldoguru

Sorry to disappoint u, It IS in fact jimi if your heart was open U could see that.

  • Does'nt seem Jimi... :(

  • I might be able to come up with the genius to make a time machine... just from the shear will of wanting to see jimi hendrix play.

  • And the rest is...

  • Why the fuck does it cut off?!?! I've been looking for years I mean fucking years for a longer version of Little Wing. I wish I could find a SINGLE live version of Little Wing where the song ends when Jimi Stops playing and not when it's "time to change the song"

Does anyone know if there is such a version? =(

  • @pinglauwa live in winterland he ends the song. he ends it on g though something to do with scales and all that jazz but he does end the song.

  • @pinglauwa live at winterland you wont be dissapointed ;)

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm LOVE THIS SONG

  • oh god... i'm flying!

  • Did I eat shrooms?

  • i felt like it just started

  • saw hendrix at the caffe au go go on a blues nite w/paul butterfield blues band about this same time.but for me mike bloomfield was the man.things were so laud your ears would bleed with with joy.hendrix played with a band called the blueflame but later played with butterfield.then after the show they'd all be standing at the bar across the street.butterfield, bloomfield, naftalin, elvin bishop, hendrix, drinking beer...who knew

  • It's great, but isn't the sound too good for 1968 live in a club?

  • Is there a longer version anywhere? Sounds like it got cut just as he was going in for the kill

  • @ 8:20 i bet thats how jimi used to cry.

  • The sound is just perfect, i mean after 2 notes I had goosebumps ^^

  • @0f2 His fingers are dancing on the fretboard around 0-2-3 on the high E string

  • Jimi was a fuckin alien

  • years ahead of everybody...........

  • still blowing my mind after all these years...

  • @Muzikman127 Herbie Rich

  • Long live Jimi! I don't know why the website put up three of my same posts... Sorry about that. Anyway... I love to hear Jimi playing here. It is so amazing!

  • close your eyes .... and listen..fade off to Jimi~land ....peace

  • Out of love and respect I was moved to post my cover of ("Little Wing" A Love Ballad). I was just an amateur with an old acoustic Yamaha living in my van outside of Boulder Co. when someone recorded me at an open mic. Maybe it's not too bad... Tell me what you think??? BTW I recently discovered that Jimi already knew Saraswati. Amazing! And thanbks again for this AWESOME jam. Jimi was just absolutely... well..... Jimi!!!

  • Hey I just felt moved out of love and respect to post my cover of Little Wing here (the one called (Hendrix "Little Wing" A Love Ballad). I was just an amatuer guitarist living in my van outside of Boulder Co. when someone recorded this at a coffe shop open mic. I guess it is not too bad. Let me know what you think? Long live Jimi over Yonder!

  • Good God! When Jimi plays I can hear Heaven! It is my dream come true to have lived long enough for technology to bring treasures like this to my ears!. Thank you!

  • I listened to it stoned it was great :)

  • Listening to this song...Stoned is probably the best trip one could experience.

I now understand why Jimi did the drugs he did.

    R.I.P

  • great.!!!

  • beautiful.

  • Ofcourse its hendrix! Are you even listening to that guitar? Only a god like hendrix can play it that way

  • shame it cuts out at the best part, is there a longer version anywhere?

  • just listened to an eric clapton and s. crow cover (with sax).... and i wanted to post my first negative comment in my youtube history... but comments were deactivated.....and i like clapton....but those 19 dislikes prolly come from those who liked the clapton crap.... cu in heaven jimi

  • @altiodification

    thanks for the info !!!

  • @upinmytree1 your welcome man

  • no way that is mitch mitchell on drums!!!

  • @upinmytree1 its not its buddy mile from his other band the band of gypsys

  • @upinmytree1 BuddyMiles

  • i read about this i belive this might actually have al kooper on the organ

  • Never heard this particular version before; it's a nice one! Hendrix seemed to have that knack of playing the same song a different way every time.

  • How is it not JH? FFS listen! It's got "JH Playing Style" written all over each note you hear!

  • 19 PEOPLE WOULDN'T KNOW GREAT MUSIC EVEN IF JIMI HIM SELF SMACKED THEM IN THE FACE WITH HIS GUITAR...... THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST VERSON EVER

  • Great track...doubt its Jimi though.

  • Comment removed

  • @gavincorrea And why exactly do you doubt that it's Hendrix?

  • You can hear his soul in those strings

  • oh oh i just came, MOM GET ME A NEW PAIR OF JEANS!

  • eargasm!

  • PURE GENIUS

  • Don't know if you noticed, but the date in the description says "17/03/1968" seeing as there's only 12 months in a year i'm guessing it's a mis-type.. might wana fix it if you have the chance.

    thanks for uploading :3

  • @Jimmy95x

FYI: There are other ways of writing dates than the american way... Europe uses dd/mm/yyyy

  • @DrNanase oh sorry I wasn't aware of that, just shows how us dumb americans can spend a week and a half in europe and not notice they write their dates differently lol

  • If it isn't Jimi, why do I always have to favorite this video from another source?

My last link: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by SME.

The link before that: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by SME.

(No need for a 3rd, you got it...)

If you knew hendrix story, you would know that MOST of his life's work is held by a few due to legal disagreements. One day, when these jerks are long DEAD, we will hear all Jimi's legacy. Keep on postin!

  • I love how Paul Butterfield stays in the background very restrained. It is so cool because he makes his harmonica sound like a violin at times. At least I think that is a harmonica in the background. Of course Jimi sounds as lyrical as ever.

  • Cool man, of course it's Jimi you cockless bunch of fucken androids....

  • Listen very carefully at 0:46, you'll here Hendrix voice sayin' "Yeah!". It's Jimi and it's awesome.

  • Hendrix? so a very bad day....

  • This is neat! Thank you shaneshane!

  • Music moves you or it doe's not. Hendrix moves me because he did such inovative improvisations, it was more than just incredible technique.

  • i only figure out how to play intro, does anyone know the rest of tab?

  • This is Hendrix. No doubt.

  • Well, from what I have heard of ( A LOT) Jimi over the Years..This sounded pretty different in his use of blues techniques and probably the ambient sound of the recording itself, but hey I may be wrong, P.S I play a lot of Jimi's stuff too so my doubts are there.@libsstink100, the tried to promote peace so stay with it my friend....blurting out crap at someone's honest opinion speaks very little of yourself....@ArcticEwi sorry to offend you with a typo.@dejagermeister19 ...absolutely !!

  • this is not JImi Hnedrix...the techniques are different...But all the same Jimi is my God ....

  • @cynkro This is Jimi Hendrix there is well documented evidence of the jams he did there. Listen to his off the wall style.

  • @cynkro If you listen to other Hendrix live recordings, and you know Hendrix, you would be able to recognise this as him. Also the fact that this particular jam took place is well documented. I woud agree that this is hardly a polished performance (it wasn't intended as such) but is priceless and cool nevertheless.

  • @cynkro PROVE IT AINT...YOU FUCKSTICK

  • @cynkro You cannot even spell his name correctly and you call Jimi your god?! What on earth a you talking about?!

  • @cynkro I guess you don't know Hendrix's style at all. This is obviously him and Paul Butterfield.

  • This is so beautiful and priceless - well done to the person who recorded this! What I would give to have been there...

  • grazie di aver esistito jimi

  • Where was Bloomfield? He arranged the festival.

  • It's clearly Jimi. No one else does what he did.

  • of course this is jimi hendrix if you couldnt tell your a fucking ass goblin. so shut the fuck up and enjoy the best song in the world!!!!!

  • Of course it's Jimi, unless you can't tell when it's Jimi playing...i can tell in a second!....just a jam....Great stuff...i never would have dreamed of all the clips coming out...now i can die in peace.

  • i know billy cox personally he lives in nashville he turned me on to this in the 80s i know for a fact its jimi bet my life on it besides i got another copy from harvey brooks he played bass at this gig now take that to the bank my freinds its jimi damnit

  • this isn't a concert. he's got no time frame to fit into. he's at a bar probly jamming with some friends. it blows my mind you guys are saying this isn't hendrix..

  • this is definately jimi playing, don't you hear his typical bending and tone?

  • Still dont think its Hendrix. Its odd that all the other versions of him playing this song there are always vocals and he always would keep it to around 4 min or so. Who ever is playing this version is talented but he's using a different tone, phrasings, and voicings, compared to what Hendrix would play.

  • Holy Shit. 8:22 just blew my mind

  • @almostblind21 THIS THIS A THOUSAND TIMES THIS

  • i love it.

  • this song makes my ears all warm

  • people need to understand the importance and expressiveness of dissonance...its one of the things that makes jimis music so honest and unique

  • Close your eyes. Now open. You have a front row table. A glass of cabernet sauvignon.

You're sitting there, right in front of Hendrix, the stage lights reflecting red and blue off the white Strat. The music flows through you like a blues river expanding into forever.

Raw sounds shoot forth like a cosmic musical canon.

  • this is one of the most kickass jams iv heard, and its my favorite hendrix song.... bonus

  • any Hendrix fan will instantly recognize this is definitely Hendrix playing

  • @Scumbagization my thoughts exactly

  • A lot of artists deviate from their original versions of songs when in concert and/or at a jam session and this one was at a small bar apparently. Also, they can play a different way. Ae nexample would be SRV Leave My Little Girl at ACL. He plays that totally differently than he normally did. So players aren't relegated to playing one way or with one tone for that matter. Hence, the Unplugged versions.

This is clearly Hendrix at a jam improvising and stretching his legs. Thanx 4 sharing!!

  • supa !

  • @societyforrealmusic,

Good quality live recordings weren't rare at all, the Internet Archive is filled with great recordings. Search for the 'Grateful Dead' from 1968 or something if you want proof, all live and incredible sound.

And the guitar that's playing is definetly Hendrix, listen at 1:20. Those guitar chords are Jimi's signature sound!

    They're just jamming "Em | G | Am | Em7 | Bm | Bb Am | G | F(add9) | C | D | D" all over again.

    Man, people these days.

  • wow, you can really hear the influence jimi had on SRV

  • BESTEST Hendrix! ;o)

  • I think it's super cool anyway

  • Y'all entertained me so much with your conversation

    Thanks

  • I closed my eyes & felt the world fade away as I melted into tears...Jimi Hendrix,a talent we'll never have the joy of truly experiencing again.

  • @diemutha666 With people like you around Jimi still lives. He will be in your heart forever and truly lives there.

  • @farseas I hope that true music and talents will find it's way back again from the disease that is the recording industry but thank you for your kind words :-)

  • @diemutha666 hey! try listening to Gugun Blues Shelter! it's from indonesia and i assure you, it's worthed to listen to! recommend : Woman, Spinning around me, 6:30

  • @diemutha666 I cried when I heard him LIVE too...sad to say I was born in '89 so I could only watch it on DVD...blessings

  • @alleycatjones On a lighter note,it's a good thing that he can still be viewed and heard for a long, long time for future generations to take notice/appreciate.

  • @diemutha666 Jimi Hendrix only made me cry when he died actually, as to the rest I'm always HAPPY when I hear his music, listen to his gentle voice or see him on a picture or video...

  • @diemutha666 Sorry, I did not have the chance to see and hear Jimi with my own eyes aso, I was too young when he lived. So I discovered his music post mortem and became then a fan. At one stage I danced every night to his music on my own and it was very good. I had his picture beneath my bed, it was the Electric Ladyland from Polydor, and I looked at this before I went to sleep and first thing when I woke up, every day, every day...Jimi is like no one else and cant be defined thats so faszinatin

  • @diemutha666 I understand how you feel dude. It bothers me that he left us so early

  • niesamowice zajebiste!!!

  • I learned everything I know about air guitar from listening to Hendrix and Clapton. Now I rule. :)

  • on organ ,that was a guy called jo sebby bach

  • @rikwalker917 LOL

  • @rikwalker917 LOL, Almost took it serious, man...

  • amazing

  • who played keyboards on this?

  • best version i have ever heard OMG

  • If I could breathe this music in and live off of it, I would. In place of air.

  • @morotsmannen96 Because Jimi was extremely fastidious about what he released. I was 22 years old when he died and have listened to his music all my life. Jimi's been the biggest influence on my playing, and anyway why are people getting their knickers in a twist about views that are not the same as theirs. Live and let live.

  • If you can't hear that this is Jimi, you shouldn't deserve to listen to music.

  • 7:22 he says "yeah" which is exactly what Hendrix's voice sounds like. Case closed.

  • dont care if its not jimi (prob is) this is some good shit; whatever it is its definitely got the hendrix influence and i love it

  • your all a fucked up bunch, i had this tape in the late 80s when it only circulated among a handful of us guys way before the internet and yes its JIMI FUCKING HENDRIX

  • @shaneshane316

Anyone who actually listens to him, would know lol

  • @shaneshane316 i might have it wrong but is the point of music by an artist not to be heard by as many people , how doesnt matter.

or you spoke to Jimi ? maybe he said i just make music for you alone ?

  • @shaneshane316 please tell me you were at woodstock :O

  • @shaneshane316 Is this how it ends or is it cut way short? Where can I find the full copy?

  • @shaneshane316 thank you for allowing us to .

  • I've never heard of this recording and I'd need some real evidence first that it was Jimi before just accepting it as such. If it is him then if he had lived he certainly would never have allowed it to see the light of day.

  • You guys never enjoy music, right? You just wanna let EVERYBODY know that you think this was not played by Jimi. Ok, if you magically know that he isn't Jimi, just listen to a realy good guitar player do some improvisation, that's all...

  • i commented 2 yrs ago that this is not jimi but my comments received to many negative responses.i still say that this is not hendrix.whoever is playing is 1 hell of a guitar player but the tone is 2 clean 4 it 2 b hendrix.compare this 2 the soundboard rec 2 the royal albert hall recordings n it doesnt make sense that a portable rec would be cleaner sounding n hiss free compared to a professional concert recording society4real is corect in his reasoning.+ jimi always kept this song short n tight
