@WitnessMySk8inPower I have Sonic Generations for the Playstation 3 and I bought that SEGA Genesis controller as quick as I could! Just go to the SEGA Genesis platform that is above the Green Hill Zone area and play away! Of course you can beat the game if you wanted to.

@TheAnimate123 To be honest they are two completly different games. It has a different story, map, music and levels but i'd say this is deffinetly the most fun out of the two.

Dude this is Sonic, even though everybody knows the genesis version. I had a more magical appeal for this one then the others. Why, cause not only this is the first sonic game I played, Its also the game I ever played. It got me to into an hobby that I will never quit. :)

The Sonic series I grew up! This was in fact the very first Sonic game I ever played; I remember getting totally miffed at my brother for selling his Master System and this to buy the Mega Drive (with Sonic 1 included) and as such bought my own Master System (with this built in) so I could play it again.

One a side note: This version of Sonic 1 was the FIRST Sonic game to award players with an extra life every time their score hit 50,000... 100,000 etc.

I'm a COMPLETE noob to the Sonic franchise, so I have a few questions:

1: what game should I start with (I have a Wii, so I can download)

2: What is the difficulty level?

3: It IS a platformer, right?

1. This one is a pritty good one to get you used to the sonic type gameplay. Or try the genesis version which has different levels.

and, if you have a nds, theres a game called sonic classic collection witch has this game, and 3 others, i recomend that one if you want to get it, but playing it on the wii is even cooler. its just a matter of oppinion i guess, advanced graphics little screen or 8-bit wide screen.

this looks nothing like sonic for the genesys, the graphics are worst "of course", the music is different, the special stages are different, the sounds are different, and the bosses are different: 5:30, wth is eggman stupid? he is using no weapons to kill sonic....

I know a "cheat for the first act! When you get the invincibility before the slope that sends you flying,spindash,then don´t let go of forward. Done right, Sonic is faster than the screen and you get to the goal unharmed.
