It seems unlikely that he would have intentionally copied this unless he saw it much later. Remember he was cast in "NYPD Blue" and the not-that-bad movie "Kiss of Death" first and didn't act anything like this in those.

Hm, the similarity is not THAT obvious but now that you mention it I can see what you mean. CSI Miami takes itself way more seriously so it's a lot less curt, but there's that glasses act and the one-linerish.
