  • why are there so many different numbers in this video? 480lb? definitely not. 385? i only see two 45lb plates. that can't be more than 300. still decent for someone who doesnt train weightlifting

  • @atgcuz There are 3 45s each side, but it still doesn't add up unless the plates are weird sizes. I think the 480 stems form him using some fag-max calculator to make up a max.

  • @EndlersaurusRex oh shit there are 3 plates. this guy is pretty strong

  • @atgcuz Disgusting technique, but yes, very strong.

  • i would love to see all the haters just unrack that weight....

  • @gnuttenftw Why so lazy? Pick it up off the ground to start the set it's really not that hard.

  • He gon' SNAP SOM SHIT UP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'll be postive about this video--so as not to be called a "dumbass": if he turns his elbows he'll have the sweet 500 for sure. Very strong kid/great athlete. Could have a better coach.

  • Split the difference if he's doing this with "bad technique" think what he could do with some coaching !. But his football coaches need to have him pump the brakes on that exercise IMO. Beastly display in any event though.

  • Haha good luck with all those herniated discs. Get a real weightlifting coach

  • retard strength

  • if he gets a better drive through the hips and elbows up he has this shit at least 12 times.. monster

  • Really hope no one uses this as guidance for doing a hang power clean. Worst form on YouTube? I think it might be.

  • where the fuck did the 480 come from ? It clearly says 385 lbs, 8 times, and then 480 ? You know that although the weight might SEEM like it's getting heavier with every rep, it actually isn't . You know that right ?!

  • @kw1213 Pretty sure he used some conversion chart; i.e. if he benched 350 for 10, some chart would tell him that based on averages, he could max like 450 or something. The 480 is a projected (albeit probably wrong) max.

  • @EndlersaurusRex im talking about average competition lifters, not world class lifters

  • @ThatDunneKid190 Average competitive lifters (I do not consider amateurs real competitive lifters) still do significantly more than this guy for a C&J. I'm not saying he's not strong; he's incredibly so. I just think the people who are criticizing him so so because he form is horrendous, not because they're jealous.

  • WHATS THE STRAPS FOR

  • ewwwww.

  • im not complaining bout form or anything, cause hes a man, but how does this add up to 480 exactly?

  • absolutely awful technique! you're killing your back. cleans are all about using your whole body, not just reverse curling the bar up then holding it up there with your back.

  • @gcgamble15 How is he not using his whole body? Explosive movement start at the legs, "jumping movement" with upper body exploding upwards and following through with the arms. Nice FOOTBALL lift.

  • yep. hes slinging it out instead of actually pulling the weight up

  • Horrendous form and not 480, but great show of brute strength nonetheless.

  • its funny how even olympic weightlifters will bug you about your form, when the real reason there pissed off is because they are pissed that your doing more weight than they ever could lol

  • @ThatDunneKid190 Any good Olympic Lifter can Clean and Jerk this weight with proper form. People similar size to this guy who Olympic Lift have done upwards of 200 pounds more on a Clean and Jerk, and commonly do 150 pounds more.

  • @EndlersaurusRex He's also a football player and just swung 175kg around 8 times with absolutely no leg drive what-so-ever. Oly lifters train twice a day 7 days a week on these lifts as well, so obviously he's not going to be as strong as them.

  • @RandomStevie I was trying to suggest people who are critical are because of his form and that Olympic lifters can do more because they are both (likely) stronger but primarily because of form. I am not meaning to demean his strength levels in any way. He's ridiculous.

  • That is the ugliest form I've ever seen.

  • didnt shoot his elbows through, and tooo wide (his legs)

  • where is the 480 hang clean?

  • He's definitely strong. I don't know shit about the clean, but from observation, it looks like he needs to get under the bar more. At the peak of the lift it seems like he's kind of curling it toward him. I bet he could do even more weight if he could 'drop' faster/more.

  • Why is it when a white dude does cleans with like 600lbs, nobody cares, not even his friends they are just like "good job bro." then a black dude does cleans with like 300, and they start flipping out and slinging shit and going "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and tearing the place up. And then he proceeds to walk around like an animal in heat with his chest puffed out and stares off into the distance as though someone is carving a statue in his honor. Their megalomania is immeasurable.

  • @VikingII

i think it's more your racist tendencies that are immeasurable rather than "their" actions

  • haha. Malice.

  • Comment removed

  • Straps? Cheating.

  • this is a hang power clean 385x8, not a 480 hang clean. still very impressive though, even with the poor technique because if he fixed that he would be able to lift even more.

  • I see bad form. But considering you got 200 pounds over my 280, I ain't gonna talk. Well done!

  • awesome foot work throughout the whole set, just awesome dude.

  • I dont't know if i could be anymore tired of ^^^^ dickheads who talk about form. form is important BUT ITS'T NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD. so go make your pityful feelings better by not critiqing a absolute beast of his form. esspecially when he's lifting twice your weight?

  • i want to see you do 480 cause you cant realy

  • lol faget i was doin that much in 9th grade

  • @Roxxzor816 i just did 480 pounds and i am an aborted fetus

  • i can do that one time im a junior in hs

  • Lol there's no way he could do 480. pERIOD.

  • This dude is getting a crazy workout . The only part that looks like it could hurt him is when he leans back at the catch and tight abs very well may be getting him through it.

  • Wtf, of all the horrible form on Youtube, this is great. He kept his lower back flat and the weight over mid-foot. No one should have **** to say about this except that it's scary.

  • fucked up technique bro!

  • Very powerful. Judging by the distance he pops up the bar from hips, I'd say he could squat clean 200kg probably.

  • get off the steroids.i know your taking them

  • can you front squat that even?? prob not, but still pretty neato

  • Fuck you jealous dumbasses. He is not training to be a technical weightlifter. You all couldn't even hold on to a 385-lb bar for one second.

  • @StephenAnthonyMusic You DO realize he's using straps....right?...

  • @StephenAnthonyMusic So someone it doesn't matter that someone deadlifts with a rounded lower back, or squats on their toes. Because after all, their not training to be a technical powerlifter. Form>Weight always ALWAYS. This guy is going to injure himself as well as other people by your stupid philosophy. I've seen ten year olds with better technique than this guy. His form is crappy by all standards, even standards as low as football players.

  • Everyone in the room is white. Must be D3 S&C.

  • I'm sure once he tears an acl or snaps his wrists, he'll start working on his technique...

haha who am I kidding? No he won't.

  • @swimstudzs Football Lift > Olympic Lift

  • @swimstudzs Yep. he'll start working on technique as soon as he stops hang power cleaning 400lbs for reps and ripping people in half on the field.

  • @RandomStevie Yeah. I guess. Whichever happens sooner. I'm betting on injury

  • haters all over this video

  • good night, sweet wrists

  • its harder to do hang clean if you dont drop down all the way to a squat? and you dont have to either, nor with the power clean, people just chose to do so.

  • that was awesome weight

  • why does this have any thumbs down.

    .

who the fuck in these comments can clean even half that weight?! you youtube warriors couldn't even deadlift half that weight.

everybody shut the fuck up, this is very impressive.

  • Great jumping mechanics

  • Strong but could improve his technique vastly.

  • how tall is he and much does he weigh?

  • ugly

  • Why so many dislikes? This guy seriously just tossed near 400 lbs on clean for reps. So what if he didn't use your version on "text-book" form, he got that weight up and unless your posting videos of yourself doing MORE weight for MORE reps than respect this man on his accomplishment. You people are as dense as bricks.

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer this is youtube... were perfection or nothing... apparently they think its nothing lol

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer Well because I could do 1/4 squats with 400 lbs and call those "full squats". See the problem?

  • @Raptorel I see what you're trying to say, but he's still moving it from point A to point B. The fact he has bad form just makes it even more impressive.

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer I know, but it makes him look like a douchebag. Using a heavy weight just for the sake of bragging with no regards to proper technique.

  • @Raptorel I'm not so much an Oly lifter, I'm much more sure and accurate about Powerlifting Lifts, so please explain what he's doing wrong in his hang clean technique so me and others will know?

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer Well, I'm not in a position to teach others as I have a sucky technique myself, but I can recognize a good one when I see it. Here his catch is very bad but his pull is not that bad. He has this "spread the legs" catch that's "unathletic" and potentially dangerous (the knees load a lot of tension with this catch as you can see them going forward a lot). He spreads his legs in order to get a lower center of gravity when in fact he should catch lower in a normal stance.

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer because as responsible and educated weightlifters we have an obligation to discourage the use of poor form, especially when "justified" by allowing you to lift more weight in a dangerous fashion

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer Might have been the music.

  • nice

  • That is amazing, but he doesn't seem to be catching the weight properly. It must be hard on his wrists.

  • whats the point of doing this with a belt

  • @oStealthKiller do it with a belt and you will see the difference

  • Roided up, retard strong, retard form.

  • lol

    @TBW92

  • terrible form. you make the comment sure yo uhave good form lifting heavy, but what you don't understand is that good coaches should be teaching proper form so when you get to heavy lifitng you do it the proper way so you don't hurt yourself. it's not a knock on the kid. i mean what he is doing is amazing. it's a knock on college lifitng coaches who want heavy weight regardless of how you get it up and that causes injuries.

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...etc

  • i remember the first time I did an improper clean

  • @alexwhitej Yeah but your improper clean was probably about 4x less weight

  • @alexwhitej yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo youuuuu idiot broooooooooooooooooooo improper??????????? he lifted twice your weight. youu couldn't lift that in your lifetime!!!!! go fuck yourself. how can you say that man you are classless OMG

  • @alexwhitej I remember the first time I saw a youtube warrior... stop hating... I bet you can't even pick up 385 off the ground...

  • once again another football player with horrible form

  • @33652dom Once again another hater that cant even do half this weight.

  • maybe 385-415...still a hell of a lift

  • I would not follow a theoretical weight table based on your multiple reps. Some people are just genetically better at repping things out instead of doing a real heavy single.

Also he should work on his rack position a little bit to get a bit more of a rest I am sure doing that many from the hang is already taxing on the grip.

    Real strong lift though, gratz

  • Yeah, last time I checked, 2x45 + 2x25+ 2x10 + 2x5 + 2x2.5 + 45 = 220 lbs. lol

  • Terrible form, shame on the coaches who teach this.

  • wtf is it 480 or 385?

  • the fact that it's not perfect form makes it even more impressive because it would be easier with perfect form, right? try throwing up 385 lbs with iffy form from a hang position. i couldn't do it in my dreams.

  • horrible form im a freshman and i have better form

  • @LAWNMOWERFREAK90 yeah, im sure you have good form lifting heavy ass weight to huh?

  • @stingray8881 no bad form here, this would be like any of us "avearge" wwight lifters trying to clean 225 8 times, by the 8th rep form is horrible

  • @stingray8881 I know its confusing to some people but "good form" in olympic lifts such as the hang clean and power clean help you achieve higher amounts of weight in the lift. The term "good form" implies that the Olympic lifter lifted the weight in a motion such that maximum momentum gains are made and maximum muscular system involvement is included. This guy, albeit strong, has bad form because the maximum beneficial motion is sloppy.

  • @stingray8881 now try doin that with a front squat after you get it up

    thats power clean nigga!

  • @LAWNMOWERFREAK90 he's also most likely a football player where not necessarily form but the strength matters, but yes it isn't perfect form, is there even a such thing as perfect form?

  • @LAWNMOWERFREAK90 suck my dick better

  • Dang and this school no longer exists..

  • hes doesnt front squat it at all he just spreads his legs

  • No denying that guy is strong, form however, is just horrific. If this guy spent more time working on technique, he would be able to a) Lift more weights more efficiently, b) decrease chance of injury, c) Do way more reps.... But again, He is a strong guy. Respect for the effort!

  • Comment removed

  • 2-100's, 2-45's, 2-25's, 2-5's and 2-2.5's and bar= 400lbs. thats more than he thought

  • @MrDauminator I don't see the 2.5's. But even without them it would be 415. I think they're not counting the bar though.

  • lol at claiming that weight is 385lbs. Also, nice form hahaah

  • that guys back is going to be fucked

  • @dsquaredmlg

If by fucked you mean strong and jacked, yes.

  • @dsquaredmlg it looks pretty strong to me

  • @dsquaredmlg not if he's wearing a belt.

  • @MetaIhead89 i hope that is a joke? i can't tell if it is...either way I laughed

  • Good that you moved the weight but your technique is terrible your pulling your chest back every rep instead of keeping it straight up and down. Its much harder keeping it straight up and down.

  • @unknownxxaznxx I would rather be able to do heavy weight several times than just once. It's called strength endurance.

  • @alphonzawill why use a power movement then?

  • @GoMrNick It's something along the lines of Max = Weight * Reps * 0.0333 + Weight, so =385*8*0.03333+385=487

At least that's how I do it in Excel to keep track of my stuff.

  • thats not 385....there are only 2- 45's on there...it might be 300...HUGE difference

  • @duanelars actually more like 290 and dont try to say those are 100 lb plates.

  • very powerful athlete here

  • im not saying i could do better cuz i couldnt. but he splits his feet, which is a big no no. does an overall good job of driving his heels into the ground though.

  • @ty78ty What do you mean splitting his feet? Like widening his stance when he catches it? How is that bad?

  • @djacklowery hmm. to be honest im not sure how its a problem. but ive always been taught that you shouldnt do that. feet should stay the same distance apart through the lift. thats how i always been taught. but whatever you guys wanna do. im not lookin to start an arguement lol. just how i was always taught. but if thats what you wanna do.

  • @ty78ty Yeah I was just curious. I split my feet out a couple inches per side when i drop down to catch it. I feel like i'm a little more explosive. I see what you're getting at though.

  • this is very good but i guarantee you with his technique he can not do 480...

  • @unknownxxaznxx the multirep chart is legit so he definitely did get 480

  • I only saw 385, where is 480???

  • This is an insult to weightlifting, you should be thoroughly embarrased this is up there with the worst hang clean techniques I have ever seen. It shocks me that your coach can just stand there and smile.

  • Very impressive, but I'm still waiting for the 480lbs.

  • @Squrely92 I'm in high school football as a junior and I'm sure weightlifting and proper form is more vivid to me considering I did hang clean yesterday...and try and tell me my coach is teaching us wrong when he won competitions a while back.

  • Very impressive strength. Far from the worst form I've seen . I'd rather see 3 good reps though.

  • doane!!!!!!!!!

  • @unknownxxaznxx

yeah when you do multi reps that compare it to a chart its really only accurate for about the first 3-4 depending on the lift.

  • this is very impressive and all but the max rep really isn't that accurate for hangcleans.... its really not even close to actually hang cleaning 480

  • This guy seriously should try out for UFC heavyweight division

  • RAW

  • RAW

  • that's sick... so what if form isn't completely there.. that is just raw power then.

  • He definitely needs better form..that was awful.

  • he is very explosive but if he dropped into a full squat he could do alot more.

  • Using a max-rep calculator for the Olympic lifts? Now that's a good laugh.

  • @Squrely92 obviously u have never done a hang clean before. His form is fine in developing the target muscle group

  • @LokiTheSinner Guess what dumbass? I used to play high school football and did both hang and power cleans. And no, his form is not fine in developin the target muscle group. The point of O-Lifts is triple extension and this guy doesn't even come close to triple extension!

  • So what if form was not correct, the was Explosive!

  • The worst form I have ever seen. That is far from a textbook form. Hell, it's even far from passable. And guess what maschurros, if you can't do a weight with perfect form then it doesn't count.

  • @Squrely92 is that bad if your legs get wider if you jump?

  • @BROWNIEBOI22 If they get past shoulder width, then yes it's bad. A little wide isn't too bad. In the video above, the guy is leaning back like no other almost doing a split. Not only is the form horrendous but it is also dangerous especially using the weight this guy is using.

  • You try and do that when you are doing that much weight it's hard to keep good form his was actually good in my perspective.

Stop beig jeaulous and criticizing cuz u have no idea what it's lik

  • that does not equal a 480 power clean. post a vid of him doing a 480 one while keeping his legs from doing the splits then IT WILL be a 480 power clean

  • that's impressive, but your form looks dangerous. be careful so you don't fall back with the weight

  • rep max calculator does not apply to olympic lifts. i can see this guy going low to mid 400's but no way 480.

  • horrible form

  • his form is actually damn good. if it wasn't, he wouldnt be doing 385 for 8 reps, and if his form were so bad youd see 100s of youtube videos of guys doing 385 with the "proper" form. oh wait but you dont? so shut the fuck up and learn from someone who is smoking all your asses. pussies

  • why is the music so sad :(

  • Enjoy the fame now and the surgeries later.

  • he needs better form, he's using more strength than he has to with his shitty ass form

  • that's a funny looking 480lbs

  • That's nowhere near 385 that dudes weak!!!

  • thats not 385 lbs.. i see 2 45s, a 10, a 5, a 2.5 on each side thats nowhere close

  • @RobbyFingler there's three 45's you fool

  • @RobbyFingler three 35's its shitty quality

  • His elbows must be baddddd, forearms not even close to parallel with the floor, and he's not catching it on his shoulders at all. Doesn't matter that he's a football player and not oly weightlifter, good form is good for everyone.

  • seems like it can so easily herniate a disc...

  • The first 4 werre actual cleans...if he didn't muscle the last 4 of them and use his back to get underneath the weights...he gets 4 good one.

  • I foresee some horrible elbow tendinitis in the future.
