Ahh... I bought their debut album (on cassette---yes, I said cassette!) in late '92 during my Senior year in high school. I loved every track on that album. I didn't hear this version (or see the video) until in early '93, and I was blown away. Sure, the women in this vid are showing some skin, but none of them look like hoochie mama hoes, either. And this is near Crenshaw Blvd! But it sure does remind me of hanging out w/ my boys just checkin' out the "honey dips" back in the day.
90's summer.......this track is one of the few that truly represents life back then- no bling, beautiful sun, happy faces, guys looking for their honey dip!!- so innocent!:)
@latnach78 I agree with everything you said....This song represents the ninties...the full feel of it.. I feel so lucky to have been in my teens during this time and fully engulfed in music.. i use to hit he store for cassette singles... U could get them cheap... At walmart somtimes for about two dollars.... Music was grooving..It wasnt all about sex...
@antnee1980 Cassingless? Damn, I was in the army when this was out. I remember hitting the club with either my karl mani or cross colors outfit getting my groove on to this.
I used to wear this song out. I wanted to marry any member in this group. I was obsessed with this joint. You tube is truly a blessing. I will always be a portrait fan forever!!!
Back when Men soul singers voices sounded like Men the Underrated soul singers of this day sound like men Like Anthony Hamltion and Musiq Soul Child but in the 90's it was better
one of the best groups in the 90's....damn where did they go..they had class and represented the young black man really well. too bad are young brothers dont get this. and i loved the song they produced "for you" by shanice on the meteor man soundtrack.
Michael Angelo Saulsberry at his absolute best. This beat and Shanice's "It's For You." Perfect compositions!
