dude this same machine is in my gym n my neighborhood! im trying to dunk at only 5'9". i was a lil skeptical about it increasing my vert, but since it helped u alot, it inspired to want to start using it on the regular! i can get rim but lets c wut i can do in 12 weeks. I kno i need to lift heavy with low reps for explosiveness. when u shud increase the weight tho? every week go up 5-10 pounds or so?
@AtomicCrane Yeah give it a shot. Use this isokinetic machine 2-3 times a week and do about 8 sets each leg. One heavy, 4 medium and 3 very light. For the compound movements you can do multiple sets of 3 reps at 30-60% or pyramid up the weight and shoot for a 1-5RM for the day (just one final max set). Go by feel, if you can increase by 5-10lbs it's awesome, sometimes you won't be able to, you might even feel weaker sometimes, if this is the case do more explosive sets at lower % for that day.

@Bed1990 Actually yes! Didn't really plan for it beforehands, but I thought I would try it to prevent my knees from traveling so much forward. It was only slight changes but it felt better.
@dda030582 Well it has really nothing to do with a leg curl or leg extension machine. It's isokinetic, that means you must accelerate through the whole range of motion. It's like adding bands or chains to a squat, it's accommodating resistance. You won't get big muscles but you can train at high speeds for explosion and power. Plus since there is no eccentric, there is no soreness either.
@dgwear69 yes. These machines are used only by physical therapist where I'm from. In the US there fitness centers that use them though. "Vertinc. com" and "ocfasttwitch. com" for example.

I'd like to discuss with more about your workouts relating to the isokinetic leg curl/ext. Is there another way to discuss than through you tube?

Looks like an awesome machine. I don't think I've been fortunate enough to run into a gym that has one though
