why does everyone hate on victoria? shes brave and courageous in her own way. most people would think that Victor was lying about the corpse and think he was mad, but she didn't. granted, she did see emily, but if she wasn't so openminded, then she would have just passed it off as a dream. think about her parents. she said shes always wanted to learn piano. her parents never let her. its not her fault she never had the same opportunities. and she had to get married to that disgusting baron too.

I really don't get why everyone says Victoria is boring. Emily is allowed to be who she is, and Victoria is heavily restrained by her family, and society's attitudes towards "what is proper for a young lady" at the time, and is mostly ignored and neglected by everyone (she's not even allowed to play the piano even though she wants to and is forced to wear a corset that squeezes the breath out her lungs.) Still she's pretty bold when she's driven to it, and brave.
