heres the funnier part when i was underground FAR away from a 4g tower *about 24 feet underneath solid rock i still got a 3g signal with the dual mode.... i know the limits of Clearwire.... Give it a brake Discontinue the service if you don't like it I like it cause it still is faster then 3g in almost all areas sometimes i get 10mbps down sometimes i get .25 it just depends where your at It states even that Speeds are not Guarranted common senes much? like 3g it goes out to......
clear does suck BIG TIME.im in dallas and had their service for 4 months. Im paying $70 a month and cant even move around in my house or take my laptop outside somewhere... Their sales person flat out lied to me! Since I have had them I have had a modem over heat and melt, when it rains internet is completely GONE for hours... And worst of all ITS FREAKIN SLOW!!! My download speed is 1.6mbps upload is so slow cant measure it..

They switched to 4g about a year ago here in Killeen, Tx. Got crappy speed with the home modem. Switched to the latest USB modem and got crappy speed. Complained and they sent me a USB dock (USB powered antenna) and it is halfway decent now.
@cacaman01 I had crappy service with the home modem. Switched to the latest USB modem and had crappy speed. They sent me a free USB powered antenna and the CNIR went from 14 to 29 and it works fine now. Get burst up to 7.7 gbs.
For the record, I have asked what are the optimum settings for this specific service are, i followed the instructions to the letter....it is still Slow, I even decided to test their knowledge and asked, what is the mtu (Max transmission unit) size is for this service, to multiple staff, they couldn't tell me. for those that dont know the mtu is the size of each packet sent across the network. for some networks or isp's changing this to the right size does wonders.
all im saying is to anyone looking for an isp and they have a choice of cable,dsl or wimax......DONT GET WIMAX....it truly is a gamble especially when they charge 50 bucks a month! with results just like in the video.
I've tried many locations in the house, all proving to be the same, it only works good when they seem to let it....even in the middle of the night like today it doesn't work all that great, i even asked tech support to send a techy to help find a prime location, but again they said no, "sry we cant do anything" I even asked how many ppl are on the tower, the first time only 39! when i know the tower can safely handle 200 to 300 users on one tower, the second time was only 9 users.
I have something very similar, through Bell Canada, its called Bell wimax i have the fastest package available for me through my isp, which is 3 mps down and suppose to be 0.50 up ...I never get these speeds, my comps not slow, i live 3.7 Kms from the tower, the acceptable range is 5Kms. and my speeds are horrid, very similar to what you show in your vid. customer support, they told me they can do nothing my comps decent, its an e8400 4gigs with a nvidia gtx 280 vid
well thats very unfortunate for u to say the least but the clear isp is not all that bad. i get around 4.90mbs down and 90 mbs up and i dont even have full signal strength.. only 5 bars.. i use the usb modem btw but i use it on my desktop

I have it in Vegas. I get three bars and my service is terrible. I would never get this service again. The service is really hit or miss and mine is a miss.
lol i live in new zealand and i get atleast 10 mbps download 1 mbps upload to the dallas server in texas and i live 7450 miles away. My real download is 18 mbps down 1 mbps upload
I'd also like to add that I live far outside of town, so my only broadband options are clear and satellite. Satellite is just plain awful and costs like 5 times as much. For the price, clear wimax is definitely worth it for me.

I have the 6 down as well and I'm only getting around .56 and upload is as bad as yours. Maybe it works for some people and at first I loved it. I still get full signal and Clear tech support has no idea why my speeds are so bad. They have changed my modem out 4 times and now I'm back to the first model modem I started out with. I have everything turned off I've done all of Clears tips to fix the issue and the Clear tech couldn't fix it. The Clear rep stated "We have no idea why you speeds are so bad and we do not have a solution" = fail I'm only 2 miles away from the tower and I have a 2nd tower 3 miles away. dude stop downloading while running speedtest. You are obviously running Utorrent. In your prev. post on the youtube test, I was able to catch you with utorrent on your computer. If you STOP downloding while running test you will see your speeds increase. I get what i pay for on my Clear service.

I don't know, I've been getting excessive random outages lately too. Just no reason disconnections. And its still slow... it must be because this is a rural area and they just don't care to get it up to par with a larger market.
The clear wire does suck.But with the USB modem when its next to the window its perfect signal.You can use it on the bus,city,coffee shop,office,whatever!

@clearwireblows lol do you guys not realize that you need to be with in 2 miles of a tower to get a good signal? and speed? i barley have a signal where i live.... so i dont use it when im on the go i use it..... if you want the home service unless you are with in half a mile of a clear wire tower..... its a digital not an analog signal....... shoot if you wanted perfect service ask clear to put a tower every 5 blocks.....get a cable provider or dsl stop blaming clear wire for your speed

@clearwireblows look at my videos... when im on the go....... i get good speeds at peak time big deal really......not for gaming but to download stuff in general yes...... if your in a major city yes

I don't know, I've been getting excessive random outages lately too. Just no reason disconnections. And its still slow... it must be because this is a rural area and they just don't care to get it up to par with a larger market.

The clear wire does suck.But with the USB modem when its next to the window its perfect signal.You can use it on the bus,city,coffee shop,office,whatever!
Its also cheap for like 2 years its only like 30$

i'm from libya i have a wimax service it's kinda good during the day download speed up to 2 Mp and up speed is around 20 to 50 Kps but during night time every thing changes the begin to collapse i don't know why

I still have this crap internet only because I'll be moving soon and I've patched up several holes in my wall because I threw that stupid modem at the wall >:(.
