Considering both MGSE and MATE, Mint 12 looks to be a very significant release given all the upheaval surrounding Gnome 3 and Unity; it's going to provide a calm harbor for many users who haven't come to grips with the relatively sudden loss of their beloved Gnome 2. The Mint team have done a great service to the Linux community at large, and as a platform I trust it will only get better as Gnome 3 and it's various extensions mature.
