Prakasadharma, is from a Lao Language if you know Laos people last name yull understand , Lao name is long syllabes , no other asian name has that many syllables.And that is true history!!!!

cham is belong to malays not mon/khmer even their physical quite same however their cultural, religion n most importantly language is not mon/khmer but malay n most similar to achehnese.

Về Lịch sử: VN ngày nay ko phải hoàn toàn là do người Kinh sáng lập. Trong 3 nước cổ đại (Phù Nam, Champa, Cồ Việt) để hợp thành VN ngày nay, thì nước Cồ Việt của tộc người Kinh và các tộc người khác ở phía Bắc Vietnam hiện tại là có chủ quyền và vùng lãnh thổ sau cùng nhất, đến gần cuối thế kỷ thứ X.

Cham people have their own culture and Land, does that mean its time for Kinh people to give back Cham people's land so they can have their own country to be different from the rest of the Kinh people. To my I look at them as Vietnamese, not Cham or Khmer. Although they may speak the langauge that I won't understand, and if u want to divide them out, let the nguoi Kinh and nguoi Cham live separate out. I would agree with u, if U say nguoi Kinh took over the Cham land.

I think u don't get my point. I live here in the U.S althought, I wasn't born here in the U.S. but soon my children will. By then my children will be known as Asian American not Vietnamese American. The same here in Vietnam. My grandfather is from India, I only my goverment document paper is saying that I'm Dan Toc Kinh. Like I say if U were born on that land called Vietnam, so U r Vietnamese, no Cham or Kinh.For those r not Kinh, what does it say on their passport? Cham or Vietnamese?

WTF u said it's not Vietnamese culture? I was born in the South Vietnam. So only North Vietnamese are Vietnamese, the rest of us are not Viet. I don't give a fuck if u r Cham,Viet, Khmer, as long as u was born on that piece of land called Vietnam U r Viet. Stop this stupid act. We fought together to fight off the inviders. I'm of partial Cham descent, and I have met several Vietnamese people in Viet Nam and the U.S. who they that they are indeed saddened and ashamed for their ancestors' destruction of Champa. These have been very moving and heartening conversations. And their realizations occurred when they visited Champa's temple complexes and marveled at the culture that preceded them.

The thing I do not get is that why do Vietnam(Dai Viet) would even claim that Cham people are part of them ? Cham people were indigenous to South East Asia along with the Khmer, Mon, and Malays way before Dai Viet even migrated south.
