@porcelaindollxx They're re-making PVs to generate more interest, get noticed. They're obviously trying to be more appealing to more western markets, hence their touring North America and whatnot. It's called marketing. They have to make money if they want to keep going. Have you ever tried to run a band and make it big? It's not easy work.

Their attempt to sing the songs in English to meet the demands of the English speaking audience : has really sucked.Though there is no HIDE...and the lack of their costumes: their music has transformed X Japan into a totally different creature. @tenrikyotoronto1 I've been a fan of X since 2000 and I although I wasn't around when they were actually together (I was 10 when they disbanded), I agree and have the same image of the band. I can't sing along to the new English versions of songs. Older X fans know the Japanese ones. I'm ok with it, I've come to terms with their new image, but I'm still a bit sad. At least they didn't deceive me as much as the Smashing Pumpkins did.
Got tickets for the Toronto show as well! I'm excited.

This song does sound different from old X but I am not complaining. They have come a long way to be back together. Things is no longer the same without hide. But they are one of the best bands around. For the newly joined fans, go listen to Art of Life, Rusty Nails, Forever Love and many more to appreciate this band.

wow, what a great song! Jade and I.V. took a while to grow on me, but this is the only one of the new X-Japan songs from the past couple years that I loved on the first listen. Also a great mix of louder, heavier rock that appeals more to an American audience and the more classical, ballad style X is great for. hopefully Yoshiki gives us more new songs like this.
you guys say everything went downhill without hide, i say it all went to shit once taiji was out of the band, taiji wanted everyone in the band to have an equal part and to write atleast 1 song each for every album... yoshiki wanted to write everything himself, new x japan album is gonna be gay, it has 3 new songs i.v. jade and born to be free, the rest of it are english re-recordings of other songs like rusty nail, kurenai ect, its gonna sound like the english versions of rammstein songs
Yes the whole thing was synched. I was there, but it was awesome to see the band after 15 yeas!!! :) Yoshiki spoke with the crown for a while,and that was awesome!

@Symptome666 Don't forget that Yoshiki had surgery to repair the old injury to his neck from years ago... I'm sure he's following doctors orders and keeping his drumming somewhat mellow comparatively... it definitely is X Japan, I don't see why you say it's not. Every band changes their style or they stagnate and begin hating their own music.
I think yoshiki is trying somthing new, i mean look at soe bands that have been around for so long they tend to change beacuse im sure they themselves get bored of it. Its also the bands choice cuz im sure if they dident like it they would try to change it. Maybe yoshiki is composing more of the softer songs and maybe the old style later for the album. i love this band and even if its a change they still prove to be one of the best bands out there.. I mean, if they played the same thing, and didn't experiment with new things, then, people would complain instead about it being same-y. Remember that this is the first song X have written without hide - I.V. even had the guitar track that he recorded. Personally - I like the song. No, it isn't the X we all used to know and love, but it was never going to be the same.

I am glad however that Sugizo is filling in for hide because no one else is as devoted to hide's memory or his style as Sugizo... though he does add a bit of his personal gusto to each performance :D
That's because it isn't about music anymore today, if you want to get BIG in the US you have to make lame radiofriendly Songs with an ear-catching Chorus and some lame Nu-Metal "Riffs" and of course no Solos.

I've been an x fan since 2000. Not as long as you, but not short either. This song is better than Jade and I like it. Maybe it's not as awesome as their old songs but I'm glad that they're finally back. So whatever happened I'll support them.
idk what you haters talking about. true the band has changed alot especially since hide's death but remember x japan was a very diverse band that could've been listed as several genres alternative, rock, metal, even pop (with songs like tears, longing, and my favorite pop-ish song by them unfinished) their music now is just as good as it used to be

Yes the whole thing was synched. I was there, but it was awesome to see the band after 15 yeas!!! :) Yoshiki spoke with the crown for a while,and that was awesome!

Awkward riff, just doesn't sound like the good old X Japan... Aside from that, I'm glad Sugizo is onboard, coudn't think of a better replacement for hide for lead guitars.
Still looking forward for X's next work! It's just awesome they got together again!

@Symptome666 Don't forget that Yoshiki had surgery to repair the old injury to his neck from years ago... I'm sure he's following doctors orders and keeping his drumming somewhat mellow comparatively... it definitely is X Japan, I don't see why you say it's not. Every band changes their style or they stagnate and begin hating their own music.

I think yoshiki is trying somthing new, i mean look at soe bands that have been around for so long they tend to change beacuse im sure they themselves get bored of it. Its also the bands choice cuz im sure if they dident like it they would try to change it. Maybe yoshiki is composing more of the softer songs and maybe the old style later for the album. i love this band and even if its a change they still prove to be one of the best bands out there.. We Are X!

X japan fans that goes way back will notice the difference. No more guitar solos that we learn to love. Maybe because the one that compose them is no longer with us. This song is not great but still good if u ask me.

Am l the only one that's disapointed with the new X-Japan songs? l am glad they have reunited but where's that unique rocking prog/power metal sound that lve known and loved about this band, even the DAHILA album still had that sound.
l don't mean to complain but this sounds a bit too mediocre, l don't even know what Sugizo is adding to the band's sound.

@1shoryuken He's adding a lead guitar. Bands move on, and play new music. I mean, if they played the same thing, and didn't experiment with new things, then, people would complain instead about it being same-y. Remember that this is the first song X have written without hide - I.V. even had the guitar track that he recorded. Personally - I like the song. No, it isn't the X we all used to know and love, but it was never going to be the same.

@theindiefanclub I can understnad why bands have to evolve their sound but this just sounds like generic rock. I really can't judge them until l hear the new album but all l am saying is that l miss the chemistry that Pata and Hide had in the band.

@1shoryuken I agree with missing the chemistry that Pata and hide had together. I have never seen the kind of connected playing they have in any other band... if one missed a note the other did too. I am glad however that Sugizo is filling in for hide because no one else is as devoted to hide's memory or his style as Sugizo... though he does add a bit of his personal gusto to each performance :D

That's because it isn't about music anymore today, if you want to get BIG in the US you have to make lame radiofriendly Songs with an ear-catching Chorus and some lame Nu-Metal "Riffs" and of course no Solos.
This reunited X-Japan has nothing to do music-wise with the old one.

I've been an x fan since 2000. Not as long as you, but not short either. This song is better than Jade and I like it. Maybe it's not as awesome as their old songs but I'm glad that they're finally back. So whatever happened I'll support them.

idk what you haters talking about. true the band has changed alot especially since hide's death but remember x japan was a very diverse band that could've been listed as several genres alternative, rock, metal, even pop (with songs like tears, longing, and my favorite pop-ish song by them unfinished) their music now is just as good as it used to be

X fans listen to X and can make their own judgments on their new works. I am personally a fan of this song, considering I was there and had a helluva good time, and have been a fan of theirs since '98.
I am glad their together and are making new tracks that get me rocking.
