There are some bad doctors, lawyers, business managers, police officers, military officials and more. The fact remains that most CPS work/seizures/placements done are done properly, and are usually for the best. Removing kids from drug-houses, or abusive households is for the kids' benefit.

CPS likes to give themselves good PR, but the fact remains that a child is more likely to be harmed and killed in their custody than with their parents. @CPSSucks Actually, neither option applies to me. I am not a CPS worker, nor have I been, nor could I name one firsthand. I know of similar organizations, with identical motives, however, which get the same rap, however, and am well aware of how those national reporting statistics work (CPS is far more likely to report cases of abuse in their custody than abusive parents are likely to report cases of them abusing kids). There are bad examples for both. Fact is, some people suck at parenting.

None of the level of corruption seen today could take place unless the average citizens are DENIED remedy for tort violations and deprivations of rights like they were in 1976 by the passing of PL94-381 and Senate Report 94-204 that hid access. Many people still think this is not their problem, or that CPS is actually there to protect the children. If parents are aware of their rights, they can advise CPS of same, and get them to back off by threatening, for example, federal lawsuits, etc.

BTW, the Mafia used children's charites, etc., as money laudering scams decades ago, so there is a connection between the Mafia and CPS. Today's gangs are no doubt involved. Buying and selling children is BIG BUSINESS.

Maybe they are, right now, but so were the Mafia and the Nazis at one time. The tide can turn in a heartbeat, and when people understand what is really going on, there will be no where for them to hide. I still don't see why CPS can't be taken down the way the Mafia were.

@CPSSucks: The only reason the Mafia was taken down, and not CPS, is because CPS is government sanctioned. It will require either a mass outrage from the public, or a few violent encounters where CPS is found to be the instigator, to have CPS abolished once and for all. Oh, and the Mafia is still around, albeit underground. In many instances they work side-by-side with agencies for a common goal. The government just took over the businesses the Mob once owned years ago.

Well, maybe. But one of the biggest busts in Mafia history was the bust involving two cops who were working with the mafia. An honest cop was after the two corrupt cops for years - his persistance and fight for the truth helped bring the mafia, and corrupt government workers, to justice. Now, it's true, the gov't is the biggest mafia organization going. But I don't think it's because they ARE the mafia, but rather that they just attract so many scumbags.
