or you could look at the bottom card, remember it and slit the deck so the bottom card is on top of the card they put on the top of the deck then when you look through the deck their card will be right next to the card that was on the bottom

i do this trick but other way, i put their card in the top of the deck, then i use a sybil cut variations to shufles the cards, but i know where the card is xD then i do the search for detectives and then i see theirs card

...... im going to very quickly explain how to do this trick 500 times easier.

Shuffle the deck yourself, and get a glimpse of the top card.

get them to select a card then put it on top... and then get THEM to cut the deck.. this way their card is next to the one you know (know breaking required)

then ask THEM to select their favorite card.. say the queen of spades... go threw the deck and get the 2 black queens out... its not very hard to at the same time cut the deck so their card is bottom

haha. Despite how easy it may seem I'd still find it pretty hard to break it and bring the six to the bottom, let alone, removing the 6 in the end to reveal the two dectectives + the desired card. I think when the time comes for me to throw it..I'd probably bring the 6, along with half the deck. lol. Then again, Im guessing it would just take a bit time and perfecting.
