i was one a zeke fan boy but then i began to study the zekes, they gassed fellow spacenoids, dropped their fellow spacenoid's colonies onto earth killing innocent people(multiple times), they are infact space nazis(minus holocaust of course), they invaded earth not for self defense but because zeon didn't have the resources to support itself, frankly the federation isn't perfect but they are without a doubt the good guys in my opinion

The poeple of Zeon believe in demagouge leaders. Yes they wanna be separated from the earth federation but the Zabi's true reason is to return to the earth becuase the colonies are vunerable. And claiming the entire space only to themselves just because they live in space is very mean and bad. And do not forget the way zeon fights. Killing an entire colony(spacenoids) just because they were allied with the EF and then crash it to Sydney(around 90 million civilians)

The fact that there are so many Zeon fans on YouTube - despite the Principality's genocidal tendencies against not only Earthlings, but the very Spacenoids they claimed to be fighting for - shows how successful Tomino and the Gundam universe was at making an atmosphere of moral ambiguity (where neither side are completely the "good guys", or completely the "bad guys."

Depends on the anime: In MSG its best to join Amuro (less suborbinates / comrads die), in Zeta they are both protoganists, and in CCA they both died (due to thier love for Lalah), so it doesn't really matter.

Maybe the side 6 option is not to bad?

@Tuning3434 It was a retorical question, as in neither side is good but both sides have good people. So you can like "choose" the main character if you understand what I'm getting at. Also in CCA only Char died because he still loved Lalah, Amuro got over Lalah in Zeta Gundam(Amuro says it to Kamille) and has an actual gf in CCA(unlike Char's "cover").

Didn't that dude(the one that lived in side6) that loved Mirai survive? Let's say you either die or are unhappy for the rest of your life =P

@ChaosKeyBlade27 The Federation didn't turn into oppressors until the Titans came to power and even then, the average Federation soldier was actually fighting AGAINST the Titans and there was also the Earth based Karaba.

Zeon's "War of Independence" was a sham to cover up their imperialist goals and this attitude seems to have developed and flourished with in the colonies even after the Federation took a hands off approach to the colonies, giving them what they wanted, independence.

Zeon's grounds for their declaration of war are not totally baseless, but there is also no law prohibiting Space Born from returning to Earth. On top of that, Zeon directly attack ALL the colonies except for Side 6 and Side 7, the latter declaring neutrality and the other being on the other side of Earth.

It think it is one of the most interesting features of the UC universe that no party is really completely good or bad.

The Zeon, under the rule of the Zabi's, performed some terrible crimes. But Zeon also stands for spacenoids who try to free themselves of the oppressive Earth government, like Gato, Char, Bernie Wiseman, Rambo Rall, etc.

The Federation does not resort to such extreme war efforts, but Zeon's claim of its corruption, oppressiveness and arrogant nature are quite true (MSG & 0083)

Don't forget that both Neo-Zeon states launched and succeeded in colony drop operations, while the Federation's own sole attempt, under the Titans, was a complete failure.

If you look closely, things went bad when Revil was killed for the Federation, along with all his officers and then things went even worse with Operation STARDUST launched by Zeon Remnants.

In the end, they fulfilled what they preached, ironically.

@Tuning3434 The Federation Titans gased a colony and attempted to gas another one in Zeta so I would not say the Federation were not extreme at times. Also used Starvation tactics to force Side 3 back into the Earth Federation before the One Year War as well, in fact it is the main reason an extremest Family known as the Zabis well took over the Republic of Zeon thinking their loved leader Zeon was too pacifistic to get the job done.

1:37 is a scene from MS Gundam: if I recall correctly it shows the deployment of GM during the Char's attack on Jaburo.

the GM cannon was not shown in the 0079 series and OVA's, so I didn't include it: but I think it is an official MS Variant.

Yeah, I just found that pic on the net. Quite a nice one don't you think. About the cannon / sniper. I've stumbled on the GM Sniper as a consequence of adding the GM Sniper II (0080 appearance) and when snoofing around mahq, i've stumbled on the Sniper I. You're indeed right about the GM Canon, it shows up during the Jaburo drop (and one is shot by Char if i remember correctly), but this being Zeta caused me to leave it out (I hesitated about Sniper I, also cause of lame picture).
