Stunning, Katharine! At the end of Idol, she had lost 30 pounds and her voice was better than ever! I'm so glad her BF-- now husband convinced her to try out and made sure she got to the audition. I love watching her career blossom in so many directions and hope her 2nd cd will do very well!
I'm a retired pro musician who's worked with many TV names in the UK, learned my craft at the Royal Academy (keyboards), I retired young so still current. This lady has it all, its obvious she's voice trained with her breathing, posture and pitch spot on every time.I checked today and she's and she's gone blonde, what a stunner. I've also noticed how she can handle low register notes and phrases which is so hard to do, I doesnt get any better than this. God does give talent and gifts to us..

I agree. I always knew Elliott was a wonderful singer, but on the show at the time I found him pretty boring. But once I got to know him a little more, heard his own songs, went back to re watch his performances, I realized he's really good and a really nice guy so I respect him a lot more.
I've now accepted that Taylor Hicks was the fourth best singer behind Elliot, Chris, and Katharine. Taylor won because he had the most charismatic personality of the bunch.

I love katharine McPhee is so awesome! I saw her in my hometown of Franklin Tn with Kelli Pickler dancing the night away not long ago. She was so nice to everyone... usually nashville gives the stars their space but everyone at the tin roof was wanting pics and autographs with Kat.. She was so nice to everyone.. FYI she is more even more beautiful in person!
Katherine apologists...she was outperformed AND outvocalized in the finals. Excuses are for losers. I would have a more thought out comment but I'm feeling a little under the weather. By the way, listen objectively to her from 2:30 to the end of the song...not good at all.
Katharine had burst a blood vessel in her vocal chords, and on the day if the finale, she had really bad allergies and lost her voice. She could barely talk let alone sing. They had to give her a cortizone shot for her chords, which made her voice passable, but yeah it was really hurting. It was really dangerous of them to give her the shot because they aren't healthy for the voice.
I think she's amazing! I'll admit that she didn't sound good in the finale, but that was only cuz she was sick...I felt really bad for her...otherwise she would have totally won!
Yeah, she blood vessel in her neck burst a few weeks prior to this. Then she she had an allergic reaction and lost her voice completely the very same day of her finale performances.
And she still outsang Taylor Hicks. He just had more energy, and being "Idol" was more important to him and that came across. Kat was content with being #2

i think she sprained her vocals just the day before. she and carrie are 2 awesome people to sing like crazy people in the finale despite their vocal problems..carrie had some kind of problem with the throat..however, katharine sang much easier songs and did not need to force her vocals too much.

Singing when you're sick is not that hard.
Singing when your voice has been overworked and is tired is. Katharine was just fatigued. This competition ripped her voice to shreds.

Yeah, she blood vessel in her neck burst a few weeks prior to this. Then she she had an allergic reaction and lost her voice completely the very same day of her finale performances.
And she still outsang Taylor Hicks. He just had more energy, and being "Idol" was more important to him and that came across. Kat was content with being #2

My gosh, she is soooo gorgeous, exquisite beauty, and wow, what a heavenly voice...
she looks like a 5000 times prettier version of Sophia Bush..
She should of have been on like America's Next Top Model or something..and would've won!

i just love this song, i hope her next album has some songs like this on it, her debut wasn't as good as i thought it would be, thought still is great.

wow i was totally oblivious to the fact that she was on american idol! she deffinately shouldve won! taylor hicks, like where is he now? and does anyone else notice that the runner up always seems to be the bigger star? well except for kelly clarkson and Carrie underwood.

How could Taylor Hicks win? I love this song and I love the singer as well. She is my favourite runner-up and I hope that she has a long and successful career.

i think she sprained her vocals just the day before. she and carrie are 2 awesome people to sing like crazy people in the finale despite their vocal problems..carrie had some kind of problem with the throat..however, katharine sang much easier songs and did not need to force her vocals too much.
