  • oh my goodness vevo is trash.

  • Little Wayne ad on a Sikth vid? Makes total sense, aint that right Vevo?

  • singers voice is like fingernails ona chalkboard...

  • Toadie from neighbours? 0:41

  • THEY'RE GETTING BACK TOGETHER

  • FACEBOOK COM/SIKTHOFFICIAL

  • SikTh have an official page on facebook. Go like it.

  • @sonicslaughter

    Do as this man says!!

  • oh, hey there System Of A Down. I didn't know you were a band anymore.

  • @shredhammer777 I was just about to say this is very SOAD - however they have reformed, whereas sadly SikTh are no more...

  • OMG SOUNDS LIKE KORN

  • Get Rihanna the fuck away from my sikth video. Seriously.

  • I for one love Mikee Goodman. Without him, the band would just be good. He creates something that completely sets SikTh apart from everyone else.

  • Vocals remind me of SOAD...

  • @blackshadowbass I was going to say the same thing. It's like what SOAD would have become if they hadn't started sucking wiener.

  • @JacoTheSkunk Precisely sir. 'Tis a damn shame.

  • I want to like this band so much but the vocalist is just so bad!

  • fuck vevo

  • people who think their musical tastes are superior really bother me

  • u know how i know vevo is gay? cuz they like coldplay

  • why cant this band exist anymore : (

  • The album version is so much better, vocals are a tad different here

  • @ExNihilMetal

I think pth has been called PTH since they started when they were like 13, and I know sikth has been around longer, it just sounds like both of those bands combined haha I'm sure both of those bands were influenced by sikth I know PTH was cuz they said so.. it's pretty interesting music actually

  • you all can hate on this comment all you want but 2:30 on reminds me of from autumn to ashes. and dont feed me that shit about listening to a gay screamo band cause ive been in to djent and death since i could walk. just save your breath

  • @SilenceSoSudden

Well, Djent has only been around for about a decade, so that means you must be twelve.

Also, deathcore is not Death Metal. If you want Death Metal, listen to Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Possessed, the Swedish lot, etc.

The only reason I'm "hating" on your comment is because you're being antagonistic towards people merely for reading what you're writing. You can be as much as an emo bitch as you want to be, I don't particularly care, and wouldn't usually comment on it.

  • @ExNihilMetal dumb ass .. i said death for death metal not deathcore, and djent for proggressive metal ... and i was only being antagonistic cause everyone hates on from autumn to ashes.. and im not fuckin emo either. btw when i said i could walk it was a figure of speech. i was born on october 9th in 1988

  • @SilenceSoSudden

Sure man, whatever. I typically don't believe people who say they listen to Death Metal as well as "Autumn to Ashes"/similar. They usually mean bullshit like "Suicide Silence" or "The Faceless", or any of these stupid 'core bands.

Also, you're a couple of years older than me. How come you're so retarded?

  • @ExNihilMetal yes i am older than you and i have listened to death metal since i could walk not djent. what i dont get is how u can be on a sikth video complaining about genres. being this is one of the more mature bands around

  • @ExNihilMetal, the faceless is technical death metal not a 'stupid core band'

  • @jscottizabeast

No. Decapitated are technical Death Metal. The Faceless are fucking gay. Just look at a photo of them, for christ's sake - emos and hipsters.

  • @ExNihilMetal agreed... there is absolutely nothing about the faceless that is technical in any way

  • @ExNihilMetal agreed... there is absolutely nothing about the faceless that is technical in any way.... more just random shit played fast

  • @punkrockdrummer I disagree, I think The Faceless are one of the more technically proficient death metal bands around at the moment. And I think with the addition of Evan Brewer they will prove that in their next album.

  • @punkrockdrummer If you say The Faceless is random shit played fast you probably listen crap, sorry dude, but that's the truth. This band is just priceless, but again, you're probably not ready for their music. Too bad for you

  • @djawme that or you have a different taste in music.... the faceless blows. i like music that takes skill not just joey-jordison-esque speed without skill

  • @punkrockdrummer Considering your name I can see why you would like stuff like this over The Faceless, but as a musician you should be able to tell that The Faceless is anything but "joey-jordison-esque speed without skill". Go look up Lyle Coopers drum cam videos and you'll see the music from a drummers perspective. Assuming from your name that you are actually a drummer.

  • @punkrockdrummer The Faceless proved their quality and skills in technical death, and also proved they could produce beautiful tracks. They might use some deathcore breakdowns in a couple of songs but that's it, and it's not even unpleasing to hear since they use them in a coherent mixture of melodic, progressive and even slam death metal.

"joey-jordison-esque speed"? come on man, why the fuck are u even commenting on a sikth video if you don't like being guitar-raped, u'r on the wrong page

  • and i like sikth anyway wtf are u talking about

  • @ExNihilMetal, so you judge bands based off how they look?

  • @jscottizabeast

    Correlation =/= Causation (and vice versa), i.e. don't be a smartass :)

  • @ExNihilMetal Have you ever seen The Faceless live, they're anything but "-Core." They're quite amazing. They're very technical and each part of a song has a part to play, just listen to Xenochrist,, The Ancient Covenant, or anything off of Akeldama. If anything, they're more experimental.

  • @ExNihilMetal what a pile of crap you've just said about The Faceless. Judge from their music, not from the first pic you open on google you retarded fuck. Plus the faceless IS technical death but i bet you only checked 2 songs

  • @djawme

I did judge from their music. I then thought "I wonder what these guys look like - I'd better find out, so that I can kill them on sight", and proceded to find a photo. Suddenly, everything made a lot more sense...

  • @ExNihilMetal the pathetic thing about you is that you take the time to look at my profile and list bands of my videos to try and bash me .. i typically laugh at ppl like you. So let me get this right since i listen to all genres of metal im less of a human being than u are? or u have better musical taste? give me a break. ya i listen to core bands .. i listen to real death as well as progressive metal, djent which is more of a style than genre, and progressive hardcore like born of osiris

  • @ExNihilMetal im sorry that dungeons of darkness or judas priest are even worth my time to consider listening to them id rather stick to good metal whether old or new .. youre probably one of those kids who think cause their bands are from an earlier generation that youre so much cooler when really ur that much more pathetic .. old or new metal will forever change as well as the ppl who listen to it hopefully u just quit and listen to shit more suitable for ur personality like three days grace

  • 4 people have minds to small to understand the complexity of this artful genre of music.

  • thing i like most about this band is as soon as the riffage starts im like fuck yeah sikth!!!!!!!

  • It's like Mindless Self Indulgence meets Protest the Hero hahahha

  • @disnig69

Protest the Hero are later than Sikth, though I think they were a band under a different name from about the same time as Sikth formed.

  • these guys are ahead of their time.

  • @markhitsdrums waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of their time man. very much agreed.

  • @markhitsdrums Were*

  • is that Toadfish at 0:42???

  • Fucking shit. Why did they broke up? :@ I'd love to hear some new songs from them. They're amazing :(

  • BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, guys :D Check out the band called "Subscribe" their Sikth-inspiration is obvious. with the singing over sick riffs and the double screams. :D

  • @AyumuNarumi123 EEExactly :D Well said.

  • This only having 47,000 views is so wrong.

  • if you werent so perfect....maybe i could get over you...

  • No I used to, back when i was 17 and still liked SOAD. Its like like listening to korn now. Sorry but they suck.

  • @Irishlager5 lyrics wise theyre pretty epic dude.

  • S.O.A.D. SUX

  • @Irishlager5 soad is awesome.. not technical but catchy

  • @maju36able BS their vocals are very difficult!

  • @Irishlager5 You suck

  • That spaffs on the album version

  • wicked vid

not used to this version but it's still all good x)

  • vocals make me want to stab my life

  • so much win

  • why did you split up :-'-(

  • Toady, I remember seeing him on the bus at Falls festival when Tool played.

Someone gave him shit for being Toady and he nearly got in a bus brawl.

He must have good taste. Good on him. More lucky cunt for being immortalized in a Sikth clip.....

    RIP Sikth....

  • Is that Toadfish from Neighbors?!

  • @ShanfredMetalface That's what I thought! 3:33!

  • @0:40 is that the guy thats in Neighbours?

  • Pretty saddened these guys disbanded.

  • New to these guys... and i love the way they write. Heard Bland Street Bloom and loved it. But the way dude sings in a few parts of this tune sounds Fred Dursty. Yuk. But only in a few parts.

  • pin with an sg low strap next to his hips lol

  • Everybody check out Pin's New band search for ALIASES on facebook and myspace and any other social network they have got there first song up "We Never Should Have Met"

  • Vocalist reminds me of Jonathon from Korn for looks, and Serj from System of a Down for sound. Love it (y)

  • cool bass!!

  • some of the vocal parts remind me of early system of a down

  • 0:43 isn't that Toadie from neighbours?!?!?!

  • @Mukla67 i thought that (not the name tho)

  • @Mukla67 yes it is toadie from neighbours

  • REUNION! PLEASE!

  • sikth = EpiC

    Plx come back :O

  • wow this sounds different from the version that ive heard.

  • sounds pretty much like lostprophets

  • is this the album version, it definetly sounds different

  • @blobbum This version was on the EP Let the Transmitting Begin from 2002.

  • 4/5? Garbage. With time signatures, you write it the simplest way; or the wrong way. There're plenty of time signatures changes, but it's a mistake to think that there are any far-flung rhythmic concepts worthy of an irrational signature here. There aren't complex cross rhythms either, you could arrange all the notes on a grid of 16ths and it'd mostly line up. It's like saying a 4/4 piece is in 128/128 for no reason... pretentious over-complications are easy to spot, and very annoying.

  • @murraytaylor123

the simplest way is not always the right way. 6/8 and 3/4 are very different feels.. each one populates a technically different occupation. that said, calling something 8/4 time is stupid because that is just 2 bars of 4/4. However, 8/8 time could have a much more obvious eighth note pulse so 8/8 might be different then 4/4. nonetheless, 4/5 obviously does not exist. the only numbers ive ever seen on the bottom would be 2 (rarely) 4 8 and 16.. .

  • @fLKommotioN 6/8 and 3/4 are a bit of a special case though... 6/8 has the feel of 2 strong beats per bar whereas 3/4 typically has 3; they're not considered variations of the same thing. The numbers on the bottom of a time signature are typically anywhere from 1 (semibreve) and upwards (ad infinitum) in powers of 2. 4/5 does exist, but it's a very high-brow, postmodern thing to use.

  • @murraytaylor123

yes, i suppose irrational time signatures would exist but i cannot see how they would affect anything other than to make the writing of the music unbelievably difficult.. regardless, i said 6/8 and 3/4 are different.. the different feel indicated that i meant they were not same, not interchangeable. could you explain to me what you meant by "(semibreve) and upwards (ad infinitum) in powers of"?

  • @fLKommotioN 4/1 would be 4 semibreves per bar (worth 4 beats each), as I say, the number you'd find on the bottom of a time sig (disregarding irrational stuff) would be 1 or 2^x, e.g., 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc. But of course you don't see many of the latter examples very often; it's difficult to find a practical use for them. Consider the number on the bottom as an indicator of how many of that particular duration would fit into the space of a semibreve.

  • @murraytaylor123

i was more concerned in the definition of semibreve. it turns out it just means whole note. I understand the rest, exponential growth on two being the common divisions. and yes, almost all the examples past 8 go unused. i know how time signatures work, your language was my main confusion.

  • @fLKommotioN u guys dont know anything hahahah

  • @murraytaylor123 uhahahahaha

  • @fLKommotioN u need to read more.

  • @p6rn6g6thic

    why do you say that?

  • @murraytaylor123 this is bs hahahhaaha

  • haha they were right, these guys ARE crazy but fucking awesome =D

    i love these guys =D

    SECRET HEADBANGER!!!!

  • sounds like newage Christian rock to me

  • Man I miss this band. Like too much.

  • @markydeeks yeah I did, and you're right no honor.... but lots of laughing

  • i cant believe this is sikth it sounds kind of limp bizkit

  • @bluefAng This doesn't sound like rap-rock at all, and Fred Durst has the most annoying voice ever. Mikee just has the craziest

  • @bluefAng i know

  • WTF is Toady from neighbours doing in a Sikth video 0.42?????

  • @BoogieManPHD hehe do you mean toadfish? i know there is no honor in being right on this one,

  • @BoogieManPHD hahahahaha =D it really is him! fucking hilarious!

  • Why do I feel so weak when I'm with you? Why can't I get you out of MY HEAD?!?!?!?

  • Its important to remember that time signatures aren't real.

  • RIP to a truely outstanding uk band, plus Toadfish @ 0:42, how metal is that! \m/ Amazing!

  • Watford pride. :)

  • Wow- amazing vocals! It's all by one guy?

  • hahaha golden virginia lol kickass shit!!!

  • yes, it is toadie.

i miss these guys so much.

    <3

  • Toadie from neighbours, agreed

  • 0:44 dude from Neighbours? o.o

  • oh shit i like this version

  • Wow... they were so different back then.

  • Preemptive... Just so nobody "freaks" out. I'm totally down with polyrhythms. I know what's up. I didn't mean to piss people off with the whole "timing" statement, but then again if you have a brain you wouldn't even need this explanation.

  • Ok, honestly who really gives a fuck about the timing. This music is amazing and so is many others. That's the point. Enjoy the music. Stop arguing. Arguing is VERY ignorant. It's impossible to understand these tunes and be a retarded ignorant fuck at the same time. Pick one and be on your way.

  • I can't decide which version I like better

  • And I wonder now, what you are

    epiiiiiic

  • fucking love the first verse

  • holy crap, this is amazing!

  • 0:42 is that Toadie from Neighbours??!!

  • wow it might be lol

  • @goldmeistergeneral swear to god, if it is I have a new respect for Neighbours.

  • hahahahaha, sure looks like him!!!

  • how the fuck does he do the bit at 0:31

    It's insane!

  • Polite gentleman.

Why is it ok to throw all manners out of the window on youtube comments boxes?

And yes, I think rrwwe has got it right, we were both wrong as its 5 hits in a 4 beat bar, so 5/4.

  • i think u mean 5/4 not 4/5 or 5/5, there is no such thing.

  • 4/5 is possible its part of the Irrational Time Signature family to quote a wikipedia entry: "one beat in 4/5 is written as a normal quarter note, four quarter notes complete the bar, but the whole bar lasts only 4/5 of a reference whole note, and a beat 1/5 of one (or 4/5 of a normal quarter note). This is notated in exactly the same way that one would write if one were writing the first four quarter notes of five quintuplet quarter notes." I'd assume it's more of a 20th century modernism thing

  • 5/5 should be possible as well though would it not just be easier to express 4/4 with quintuplets?

  • @Jeppetoh oh nvm yea i guess it does exist.

  • @rrwwe : I do like my odd time sigs, and once pondered what 4/5 would actually work out as. All I got was a headache.

  • @443556inflames if it existed yea. i mean my band writes stuff in 9/8 and 11/8 and its not a headache at all but trying a time signature called 4/5 which makes no sense u r bound to have headaches

  • @rrwwe Oh... but there is a 4/5! Four beats, with each beat being a fifth of the current quarter note. Irrational Time Sigs: Google it.

    :D

  • @ZeiShou Sex.

    On a bun.

    With ketchup.

  • @rrwwe These guys can fucking make it if they want to. That is, if Dream Theater, Meshuggah, or Ron Jarzombek already didn't.

  • @rrwwe yes there is, called "irrational meters"

  • Its quintuplets guys.

That basically means that the hats and cymbols etc are 4/4 whilst the kicks and other drum fills are played at 5/5.

I like the quintuplets, bot something I am capable of myself, I would just naturally find myself doing triplets instead.

Really good drummer, should session for big bands.

  • so basically is octomom drums beats

  • Lol

  • @GregInme

Well isn't this a coincidence? It's Ollie from the forum=p Showing off your polyrhythmic knowledge eh? The drummer, last I looked, was playing in a shiiiit band that's way beneath him.

Fancy a time signature challenge? Try 'Alien Hip Hop' by Planet X.

  • Dude... 5/5 isn't even a time signature. Wtf are you talking about?

  • fucking idiot! you mean 4/5? fail at trying to sound smart.

  • 4/5 isnt a time signature either, smartass.

  • @sheoftheserpentskirt What are you talking about? 5th notes are all the rage now a days! Everyone uses them! xD

    Haha jk

  • Comment removed

  • What the fuck are you talking about.

I said the exact same thing as you did. I made fun of the queen who thought that 4/5 was a meter.

Yeah, sure, theres irrational meters, but most people just change the tempo.

  • You obviously have no understanding of musical theory. 4/5 is a possible meter. The five on the bottom makes it so that the rhythm would follow a pattern of fifthtuplets (like triplets but with 5 beats). I would give props to any band that has the ability to write in a 4/5 signature. Suck it.

  • meshuggah can write in much more complex times then that.

  • haha the ironic thing is they use a 4/4 base for everything, so though Meshuggah is an extremely technical band, they would not really be associated with time signatures such as 4/5. They're not gonna stray from a 4 base. So they may use 23/16, or 13/8, etc, but it'll keep a 4 base.

  • haha the irony just keeps building up, not only is meshuggah playing in more complex times but they are playing 4/4 on top of that, ie polyrhythm

  • I think technically meshuggah actually uses polymeters. I may be wrong, but here's the way I view it: Polyrhythm is playing to rhythmic values on top of eachother (i.e. triplet and sixteenths played together, or quintuplets and eights), where as polymeters consists of using multiple time signatures on top of eachother (i.e. guitar plays 23/16 while drums play 4/4). I may be wrong, that's just the way I interpret two terms I've heard. Feel free to call me out If I'm wrong :P

  • the drums arnt in 4/4. only thing in 4/4 is hit hat or whatever hes ridding on, snare and feet are in completely different times. along with the guitars.

  • yea I know that's what I mean, I was just generalizing. But still, one thing (hats and snare) playing in 4/4, and the other thing (gtr/bass/kick) playing 23/16... isn't that a polymeter? because it's all sixteenth notes, just different Time sigs. I see polyrhythm as different rhythmic values (i.e. hats/snare playing triplets, bass drum playing sixteenths), where as this is two overlying meters. I dunno, this is just how I view things. Is this correct?

  • only hithat/crash/china is in 4/4 and snare/kick is usally in something like 23/16 or something like that along with guitars. i dont think he plays much polymeters its mostly polyrhythms

  • yea that's true. Sometimes the snare follows the guitar/kick (TMLWYB), but sometimes it actually just follows the 4/4 cybmals (bleed). What's your interpretation of the difference between polyrhythm and polymeter?
