I'm not ashamed. I cried listening to this. I don't know what it is about this classical piece of music, but it carries a lot of emotion and history with it. I can feel it in my heart and my soul. Mozart, I tip my hat to you good sir, for bringing this piece of music into this chaotic world we live in.
@KyleBarlow93 well!!! I brought up two beautiful daughters listening to beautiful classical music!!! One became a talented cello player and the other one is magnificently playing the piano... I'm very proud of them both.. Now, my grand daughter, age two and a half, is listening to the same music... listening to her mother on the cello... The children like what they are used to listen when growing up.. this is very important!!! SO. when you will have your children, remember this!!!
Well I got a CD box of Mozart and am discovering his music this way. This clarinet concerto is one of them, but he got so many others, it is difficult to choose. His symphonies, pianoconcertos, clarinetconcertos, operas, requiem... What a genius he was.
Oh my. I never realized this was the clairnet concerto. I had this recording on a c.d and listened to it ALL the time and loved it. I always wondered, what's Mozarts famous clairnet concerto sound like? ahah, turns out I had always known it and loved it. Guess I should start actually learning the titles of the pieces I listen to lol...
My husband wants this played at his funeral and hearing it makes me cry. It's so beautiful. And I agree with k9miki, no other piece of music touches the soul like this one.
No other song touches the depth of my soul like this song. I feel as if I'm an old man, sitting on the precip of life; all of my sorrows and longings have gathered around me- but not to haunt me. Rather they are floating away. As if I am atop a mountain and watching them float away as I sit in sweet relief and find myself renewed in life. Thank you Mozart.
No other song touches the depth of my soul like this song. I feel as if I'm an old man, sitting on the precip of life; all of my sorrows and longings have gathered around me- but not to haunt me. Rather they are floating away. As if I am standing atop a mountain and watching them float away as I sit in sweet relief and find myself renewed in life. Thank you Mozart.
In a sense, Mozart's concertos always speak louder than his symphonies, not only because of the obvious differences in lengths, but also in accessability. People all over the world know all the famous Mozart melodies, simply because of their brilliance and simplicity. The same can't be said for many other composers.
I wonder at this music. how does a sound, when all is said and done that is all it is, sound. But this particular sound reaches somewhere deep into my soul and heart. Sublime is not a word that can come near in describing its feeling. I cant begin to say how deeply wonderful it is. I am a 55 yr old man and yet I find it hard to prevent my tear ducts from going into overflow, why is that? Mozart whoever you were, I love you and your unique gift of music, it can never come again, its impossible.
I've never played the clarinet in my entire life (I'm a pianist and trombonist) but I can say with all sincerity that I don't think Mozart wrote anything better than his clarinet concerto and quintet (and that's saying a lot since everything he wrote was genius). He understood the timbre and texture of that instrument perhaps better than any other composer. This movement is as if God was speaking directly through him.
What I was trying to say is that every musician, without exception, have a period of compositional proliferation when they can write from dawn to dusk non-stop. It is the summer of their compositional life. When this period is over, they can go for years without producing anything of import. When they do, what they come up with is often a rephrasing or repeatition of their earlier work. Mozart would have been the same. Wishful thinking would make us say otherwise. He died at the right time.
@JoeTeeQue That assumes ordinary rules of composition and creativity would apply to Mozart, an assumption with very little factual backing. Mozart was extraordinary from birth. It is not unreasonable to think he would be so until death, or at least until very close to it.
Putting your blasphemous intro aside, musicians are like flowers. They start to bloom in the spring. In summer, they are in full bloom. They start to fade in the autumn and quietly die when winter comes. With Mozart, he died in mid summer. His music will always be in the summer sun through the soft brown earth that holds it forever, always young.
@JoeTeeQue Why so poetic? Whatever happened to just acknowledging good music for what it is? Just because I don't feel like writing an eloquent sonnet on Mozart doesn't make my comment blasphemous.
Clearly we both love Mozart, I see no reason for us to argue about how to describe his compositions.
@OlmoHerediaVEVO - Sadly, because most people are ignorant morons who feed off junk media, "celeb news" and/or are glued to mindless sport, when they could be listening to wonderful music such as this.
I guess this is what music is all about, pure and simply made way back and probably in a thousand years still beatifull to listen to. Makes me feel at peace with myself

What always gets me in this piece, at least in some performances/arrangements, is actually the French horn... golden notes that just make the soul vibrate as it struck.
Of course, the whole thing is great, but thats the bit that always made this stick with me. Odd, keying on the horn in a clarinet concerto.
Luverly! If you're into this, then check out the first movement of Carl Dittersdorf's Sinfonia No.4 in F major (listed under the title: C.D.v. Between living a long but unfruitful life versus living a short but remarkable life like Mozart, I choose to be go like Mozart. He may have died young, but boy oh boy, he sure left behind great works of accomplishments that made his mark.
No one who loves music would not know who Mozart is.
this is actually my school bell, and its arranged in the order of the song of each period, I live off this song. It sinks my head into a cloud where I am in my own world and no one is bothering me and no stress at all.Mozart is a genius and the clarinet player is magnificent.
@Jazzglenn now that is what describes mozrat's work of music. He has so much inspiration in my music life and devotes me to be a great clarinet player that I hope to become on day after my 4 years of high school. His music is timeless and immaculate. And you saying it in that poetic style I will never forget. You have a talent for writing poetry. I can see that.
@Patchamp13 i'm looking forward for you to be a famous clarinet player, and pray that you'll be, indeed. Thanks for the complement. It just hits me when i'm really relaxed and at peace of mind.

How amazing!
Mozart made sure these instruments spoke to your heart...
...clarinet, flute, piano, you name it...
and we are still listening...

Between living a long but unfruitful life versus living a short but remarkable life like Mozart, I choose to be go like Mozart. He may have died young, but boy oh boy, he sure left behind great works of accomplishments that made his mark.
No one who loves music would not know who Mozart is.
He lived on and on through his music.

this is actually my school bell, and its arranged in the order of the song of each period, I live off this song. It sinks my head into a cloud where I am in my own world and no one is bothering me and no stress at all.Mozart is a genius and the clarinet player is magnificent.

Word cant describe the peace i feel deep within my soul,
Close your eyes and you can imagine nature and its beauty,
at the end of music, send me chills down my spine from its endless serenity

@Jazzglenn now that is what describes mozrat's work of music. He has so much inspiration in my music life and devotes me to be a great clarinet player that I hope to become on day after my 4 years of high school. His music is timeless and immaculate. And you saying it in that poetic style I will never forget. You have a talent for writing poetry. I can see that.

@Patchamp13 i'm looking forward for you to be a famous clarinet player, and pray that you'll be, indeed. Thanks for the complement. It just hits me when i'm really relaxed and at peace of mind.
