I just fixed my psp for the first time, original faceplate was all cracked, had 3 stripped screws, all replaced, I think I'm pretty proud of myself for it lol.
Just find the number of your PSP either 1000-2000- or 3000 and then look up the type of PSP you have. Match all this info up in your search and also compare the pictures with your old screen. ( I took my screen out to do this) and watch out for the connectors for both screen and backlight as they r VERY FRAGILE! break these and you are screwed. they open by a small lever over where the wires plug into. search PSP (PSP number here) screen replacement and you should find vids here.

I wouldn't get a go because it costs more and i get less. Plus downloadable content is a bitch to manage if you want to play it on another psp. They don't even have all the games available for download.
@jet100c I dont know much on how to fix PSPs but I would think that issue would be that button or the mainboard i'm sorry I can't help much. I only did the screen by following a video tutorial. maybe you can find a vid that helps. also try google.

You buy the right screen from an online retailer such as amazon and then you remove the front cover of your PSP (This will void your warranty) and then you remove the old screen and put this one in and then you re assemble your PSP and you are golden.

your battery has reached the end of its useful life you need to replace it. if you don't want to pay ask someone if they have a spare but it might be an old one. but you never know. a PSP battery is about 20-30 bucks but it's worth it. a new battery will las nearly forever depending on what you use it for. you can get a higher power one but it's bigger in size.
my psp light wont come on i dropped it twice and i turned it on ( takes about 6 secons to turn on) and the light wont work i charged it no orange light but my psp works fine
does it still charge just you don't see the light. the circuits to the LED are probably damaged. I wouldnt mess with it if the PSP still works. it's all surface mount crap that's not fixable. that what's wrong with today's garbage you can't fix or mod it. remember stuff from the 80's that you could just change out a part and it's good as new. not with today's stuff.

well you need to hit the web and find one that fits your PSP when u open your PSP check the connectors on your old screen and match it with a new one and the PSP number will help. (Mine was PSP-2001) this is found on the front of the PSP when its on the table you will see a sticker with a barcode on it. if you dont have it then theres a sticker under the battery with the number.

if you can get the UMD disk to stay in there and then rig something to hold it in place that might work. I'd hate to say mod your PSP with CFW but I dont recommend that. or you can maybe find a new door I'm sure there are sites that sell repair kits where you can buy what you need for your PSP.

I have most of the songs in HD mp3s and all of then in raw WAV file. use that MFaudio program and the MUSIC.WAD file in the music folder on the game disc. interleave is 18000 in MFAudio. offset leave that alone.

Are you on the latest firmware? Theres alot of things you can do with it like use all the ram on it to browse the internet. It's like a billion times faster than the normal browser thats in it.
No I have firmware 5.02. I doubt its any better than what I got b/c I hight doubt that sony is gonna allows use of all of the resources of this thing b/c they hate homebrew. I cant even play games on my PSP even if I wanted to my Drive is fucked.

no.... the new psp 2000s are unhackable due to their new motherboards inwhich prevents it from being modified into a CFW but yes, you can play ISO's by using CFW installer for the new psp 2000 and for the psp 3000 you can use GEN-A to play downloaded ISO's

no and I dont think I would but id love to watch youtube on it via wifi w/o downloading and converting the videos to mp4 and w/o PSPTube Sony needs to get on that, they did it on the PS3 why not the PSP.

Are you on the latest firmware? Theres alot of things you can do with it like use all the ram on it to browse the internet. It's like a billion times faster than the normal browser thats in it.

No I have firmware 5.02. I doubt its any better than what I got b/c I hight doubt that sony is gonna allows use of all of the resources of this thing b/c they hate homebrew. I cant even play games on my PSP even if I wanted to my Drive is fucked.

Well if you where to put cfw on it then you would be able to download games straight onto the memory stick and play them from there.

on your PSP? I surf a lot of my psp like when i just want to look at pics on google or something on wikipedia but some sites dont work and the ones that do sometimes theres too much and theres the dreaded not enough memory errors GRRR cmon sony make a good product. Im sure the PSP has the hardware ability to play youtube but sony wont allow it but that would be awesome if i could watch youtube on my PSP and not via psptube but by the browser and wifi.

I might if i get another one then ill put something on it where i can play doom and duke and NES games but the UMD drive doesnt work on this one. if i get a new umd drive and a new psp ill use this one for ripping games for the music.

well the one youll probably find is the 3000 but i think theres a 3001 PSP too thats the US psp.

no.... the new psp 2000s are unhackable due to their new motherboards inwhich prevents it from being modified into a CFW but yes, you can play ISO's by using CFW installer for the new psp 2000 and for the psp 3000 you can use GEN-A to play downloaded ISO's

yeah it is, actually my nephew got me into that song b/c he recorded the audio from the video on the internet on his tape recorder and he sang it alot so i went on there and downloaded the video and song. im gonna probably use this song in a lot of my videos once i find out if its ok on here i will be redoing my duke music mods video with different songs b/c one of them is pretty close.
