  • Many years ago I was in an examination to join the Royal Dutch Navy. This lasted two days, an din those two days some guy played this song at least thirty times; by doing so driving me crazy. It took years and years before I could here it again. Today I like it again.

  • @LarryHSI

    Electric Avenue sang Eddie Grant.

The guy on this clip isn't Eddie Grant.

  • @nhosterrr Eddy only played guitar on it as well as writing it,it is the original vocalist with his Brother on drums

  • @LarryHSI its not eddie grant

  • Great song

    SHAME about the synchronisity here,

    Makes it look rather silly.

  • So ,.... what is HE singing?

  • The Equals also wrote "Police on my Back". A little unknown band from England covered it. Both versions rock.

  • A little unknown band??????? Do you mean THE CLASH?!?!?!?! It's on their "Sandanista" album.

  • I tear up every time I watch "Westway to the World". Joe still has that passion in his voice.

  • geile mugge

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhh baby come back ....see good music is from all eras but this shit cant even be considered as past its time is still as hectic as eva

  • this is one of the big hit

  • I definately think this looks like the original lead singer. As far as I'm aware Eddy Grant played Guitar (that twangy sounding one you hear repeatedly) & sang backing vocals.

  • Yep that was Lincoln Gordon singing!! Great singer great guy, practiced all the time, Eddie Grant tried to upstage Lincoln. I was to marry Lincoln, walked out 2 weeks before the wedding, got cold feet!! He is a true man of music!

  • @buntybunny And your name is?

  • buntybunny.

  • This is the original singer, but not Eddie Grant.

  • Watch an older but very crisp version here:

    /watch?v=_IGn0C-fk6Y

And, yes, this IS Eddie Grant. We all grow old...

  • Sehr gute Musik ! Fetzt so richtig ab !

    BEST OF THE SIXTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can forget all the stuff made since 2001!

  • The music is out of synchronization with the video.

  • @milkypirate99 ...... only bout 5 minutes off ... you can read lips, can't you? ... lol

  • @milkypirate99 the clapping isn't though !!!!

  • @milkypirate99 just a little LOL

  • super ,píšeň mého mládí

  • This doesnt look like the original Equals with Eddy Grant.

  • Awesome rythm in this song. seems to me not many artists produce music that gets you swinging that much nowadays

  • great song my friend

    love it**********

    brings back memories

    xxx

  • @rosestje sure does mate!! do you remember what year this song was shown?

  • great song, thank you! :-)

  • oi oi oi

  • Still gets yer feet tappin eh ?.

  • dig it...man

  • Haha You're cool

  • this is more than out of sync - this is the original recording (from the 60's) to a video that's a good 20-something years later!

  • when was this recorded?

  • Too bad this is so horribly out of sync! "Baby Come Back," The London-based Equals' only U.S. hit, peaked at #32 in the fall of 1968. Derv Gordon was the lead singer. Eddy Grant was one of the three guitarists, along with Lincoln Gordon and Patrick Lloyd (John Hall played drums). Eddy Grant returned in 1983 as a solo singer with the million-selling #2 hit "Electric Avenue." He had two smaller follow-up hits, "I Don't Wanna Dance" (#53, 1983) and "Romancing the Stone" (#28, 1984).

  • Number 1 in England May 1968. In the charts for 17 weeks. Great song!

  • Comment removed

  • thats not Eddie, Eddie still has dreads abd is about 3 foot taller thats Derv Gordon the original singer

  • Man, how I love this song!~

  • Check out 'Viva Bobby Joe' Reached #6 in July 1969.

  • serial COMEBACK... this is soundtrack....

  • this song reminds of my ex and and I miss her a lot

  • i thought that player sang this first

  • i though eddie grant sang this first? did he any1?

  • he was in this group formed in North London, England in 1965

  • yea i noticed that thats him lol:P

  • That is Eddie, (Electric Avenue)

  • Really? I always thought it was Eddie Grant (Electric Avenue, I Don't Wanna Dance) that sang on that song.

  • WTF xD

  • BABBY COME BACK :)

  • "LETS ROCK!"

  • Ronnie 11234 says its his Dad on every video

  • What the hell was that all about.

A 2006 crappy video dubbed with the original track from the 60's get real will ya.

They deserve better than that !!!

  • Yah, it is out of sync.

  • Welcome Home Eric! (Sorry) Sgt. Franklin!

  • Derv Gordon was and is the Laed Singer. I should know cause he is my Dad!

  • The things you learn on "you tube" this song is as old as I am, never knew the man that sang it was better looking than "The Dave Clark Five!" Great Song!

  • Please Baby Cime Back

  • Please Baby Come Back

  • God, I remember this song so well. My friends and I had many a good time listening to this way back when. I'm so glad I found it here!

  • it's only rock'n'roll but i like it!

  • Wheyyy

  • Great party song...

  • This is very good song.

  • the equals were great , eddy grant more or less

    thanks

  • i do belive you are right Devron rings a bell with me it was a good song then and its good today it has never left my mind in all those years they used to be introduced on caroline as 2 black equals and 2 white equals equals the equals !!

  • IT'S THE ORIGINAL SINGER ( I THINK HIS NAME IS DERVON(?), I DON'T HAVE A CD HANDY , SORRY.), HIS BROTHER PLAYED GUITAR, AND EDDIE GRANT PLAYED LEAD GUITAR (The original band had no bassist.), But never sang lead. This looks like someone dubbed the original song over an existing video , which , of course , is far more recent.

  • D song was released in 1968.Lead singer Eddie Grant was much younger then. It was a huge hit on radio and private parties for a couple of years before the advent of discos. Yes, CanadaAstro was right, this is not the original cast of The Equals.

  • I remember when BBC weekly broadcasted a pop-music show starting with the tunes of Baby come back. Maybe 1968, or somewhere then.

  • THE SONG WAS MADE IN 1568

  • This is NOT the original cast of the group

  • Do you know in which year it was recorded?

    Thank you!

  • 1997,germany,new year eve,lets have a party,have lots more

  • ok thx

  • recorded in 1967/68,no1 in the charts in july 1968
