  • Sid, wonderful playing of Very Early. You have great command of the fingerboard. I'd like to hear you solo to the chords. Cheers, Charlie

  • Pls which book to start studying with Jacobs methods ? Thx

  • what guitar is this? looks like a nasty mofo

  • beautiful : )

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Excelent.

  • wonderful! very musical and flowing........

  • Is the fingerstyle hard in Sid's book? I'm working on honing my flat picking style and was wondering if these arrangements could be played with a pick. I love that dreamy sound of those open string chords, Sid Jacobs' harmony concept really seems to lend itself to solo guitar playing. I'm still working through George Van Eps and Barry Galbraith books myself, great harmonic ideas from these giants as well.

  • Nice job fella.

  • A Very Nice Very Early.

  • simply stunning!

  • Actually the title 'Very Early" was given to this tune by Bill Evans because it was one of the earliest tunes he ever wrote. See his filmed interview "The Universal Musical Mind of Bill Evans."

  • Sid, venez faire un tour en France, vous méritez d'être connu !

  • Amazing Work !

    Regards From Brasil

  • I thought your title was "Very Early Sid Jacobs" like early Beatles or something like that. I knew Sid in the 1970s where he was the greatest guitar player at Lake Tahoe and Reno! One time he was playing some Flamenco riffs at an airport and drew a huge crowd. Another time, at a cafe in North Tahoe, he played Johnny Be Good really bad then slid into simultaneous Boogy and Bach. He IS a legend.

  • Kevin,

What, exactly, does VERY EARLY refer to? ;=))

    Hi Sid....

    Dolores

  • to me, anything sooner than 8 am is very early, for Bill Evans it may have been slightly later, say jazznoon (6pm) or so. other than that i think it is just a song title.

  • I worked through Sid's Bill Evans book. It was the best f--king lesson on harmony I've ever had. This guy, joe diorio, ted greene, vic juris, and ralph towner are the highlanders of guitar!

  • i couldn't agree more as i have taken the same journey. it is unmatched in anything i ever studied for guitar or music in general.

  • kevin...check out Ron Millers two books on modal jazz composition. Huge amount of wisdom coming out on paper. Also check out pierre bensusan's hybrid music/cookbook...pretty amazing.

  • kevin...check out ron miller's modal jazz composition books. Very deep harmonically.

  • How beautiful!!!!! Sid is not known well enough. Hope commercial recordings are in the works. drmike

  • wow
