Hell, there's bands/artists that only use samples and those are some of the best albums I've ever heard: The Avalanches - Since I Left You and Merzbow - Pinkream. Its the way that Dragonforce implements it that makes it bad. They advertise their song as a shred-fest when they're not really shredding at all. But I haven't listened to that song in a long time so maybe its not as bad as I remember it being.
