  • SHIT!!! I JUST CAME IN MY PANTS

  • Comment removed

  • Just saw them here in San Antonio. Fucking life-changing. \m/

  • I'm seeing these guys October 2nd in Toronto. Fucking excited.

  • This sounds so much like old Meshuggah, and that is in no way a bad thing.

  • @theallmightyham It is an incredible thing.

  • One of my favorite bands. Fucking awesome song! Textures Up Your Ass!!!

  • Thumbs up if you clicked "replay" many times to see that sexy dancing chick.

  • WTF?!??!

  • The lead singer looks like the lead singer from Protest The Hero... C':

  • @DaBradders ya but more badass looking and less goofy

  • what a badass video

  • What's with all these people complaining about screaming in a metal song? You're listening to extreme metal. Textures change tempos and on a dime, have blastbeats, and polyrhythms this isn't Nickelback rock. I'll let you in on a secret too most metal has had screaming/growling since the early 80's.

  • screams, growls, and other variations of unclean vocals is meant to accentuate the strings and drums. kind of like rap.

  • I'm not trolling, I'm saying the singer sounds like crap.

I actually like the music, if they put out just an instrumental cd.. I'd totally buy it off I tunes. But as it is right now, it just isn't to my liking really.

  • @adytumsjb listen to upwards and messenger from textures, he s not screaming all the time, he s singing voice awesome...give this band a second chance pls

  • @adytumsjb This is actually one of the rarer textures songs with no singing on it. The guy has an incredible singing voice, and the band have a new vocalist now who is just as good a singer/screamer. Try some other songs, it'd be a shame to ignore it based on one tune

  • @adytumsjb This type of music doesnt work as instrumental. Would become stale fast. What kind of singer you'd want? More growls? Im not the biggest fan of high pitch screams either but I think this is passable. Dont tell me you would want clean vocals though :x

  • what's with all these bad bands thinking screaming into a microphone counts as vocals? It sounds retarded.

  • @adytumsjb troll alert

  • @adytumsjb well i guess anything counts as vocals, as long as the air goes through you vocal chords than you can call it vocals no matter what it sounds like.

  • @adytumsjb You forgot to yell "GET OFF MY LAWN!"

  • @adytumsjb Whats with all these retards coming onto youtube to listen and then care enough to comment, piss off fail cunt

  • Drawing Circles is fantastic.

  • 2:20 to 3:17 is fucking A

  • Phil Anselmo? Is that you?

  • hardcore ballerinas, thats hot :)

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh da pauraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • singer shits all over this music. Generic hardcore yelling is getting really old

  • @NecroButcher91 uhhh this is generic?...your kidding right?

  • @NecroButcher91

    No. Just...no. No.

  • she is hot

  • boring

  • @Trveheimer oh yeah

  • @Trveheimer

    Failing comment, sir.

  • @AttackOfLink blablablabla

  • ill certainly buy wheir new album when it comes out this year.

  • I like this singer better than the one they have now bring this dude back please

  • Who the fuck divided by zero?!

  • Awesssome!!! /,,/

  • post-thrash metal, math metal. yesssss

  • sounds like a combination of mnemic, meshuggah, and gizmachi. I LIKE!

  • @MothrawGuitarist Gizmachi holy shit i miss that band

  • maybe new ballet music??:-D

  • Justin bieber is indeed bit more melodic

  • alot of nice ass shots of the girl in this video :)

  • i will fuckin miss this singer :(

  • Sideways mic, like a badass

  • 1:20 to 1:46 is the sickest part of the song!

  • fucking awesome

  • Great song, but why the video?

  • Meshuggah had kids?

  • @deadmemories091 Yes, they do.

  • I love how it's about a dainty dancer.

  • I like how Eric holds his mic sideways like a fucking boss.

  • HOLY SHIT! These guys have something really authentic. They are genious.

  • @cthoulou55 amm really authentic ... idk have you ever listened to meshuggah ?

  • A M A Z I N G!

Brazil is waiting for u guys!!!!!

  • arent' these guys trying to do too much? I mean some of their songs sound similar to opeth (like a bad copy), others, like this one, sound a lot like meshuggah.. with less power and more cutesy chords.. they are a fine band, but really.. I rather listen to those two aforementioned bands.

  • 1:20 is the best thing ever.

  • These guys are making metal as Odin intended

  • damn.....i just felt the most deepest chill listening to this song....so powerful

  • @someweirdwigger Quite a short song to have sex to, must have been a horrible shag..

  • @rolfeijg2 lol

  • @someweirdwigger With yourself.

  • This song is a masterpiece. I have nothing more to say.

  • Eric Kalsbeek

  • Thumbs up if you think that chick is fucking hot.

  • @007Pogo I'd certainly let her taste my japs eye.

    While listening to Textures. Obviously.

  • @007Pogo Looks like jailbait...

Hi, I'm Chris Hansen. Have a seat right over there. Have a seat.

  • @Reyvarholurin Never saw that show, sorry, i dont get the joke =(

  • @Reyvarholurin What does south park have to do with anything? :O

  • I think the video is really fucking shit. The footage of the band is fairly standard with the whole warehouse footage. But the ballerina and the Adobe After Effects animated lines???? naaaaaaah.

  • this band sounds like.. destroy erase improve style to me...

  • @juanbcm yeah...meshuggah like :P

  • bart <3 oh and steff !

Ill nerver forget werfpop in leiden!

    =D

  • periphery is 10x better than meshuggah but i fuckin love meshuggah

  • @GrapesAreFun100

Well , depends what standpoint you are looking from. And Periphery was completely influenced by meshuggah even Bulb states so. Periphery is not as technical as meshuggah though, more like a blend of melodic, pretty much like Textures.

  • @OHmygodXoBil3 Periphery is more like pop melody to me tho (still kicks ass), whereas textures is more like if Meshuggah mixed with In Flames and brilliant male vocals.

  • @FootballnSoccer

Yeha i have to agree with you on that haha.

  • i like this video, its simplicity is fruitful

  • Did this dude used to be the Brainshake singer?

  • my girlfriend got meshuggah's live recordings. I prefer them so much more than the studio recordings. I can hear everything uber clearly.

  • @FootballnSoccer Can you pls send me some footages? XD

  • @Asael090 No, I mean, its a live album (Im lame and don't know what it is). But everything is sooooooooooooooooooooo good. So much better than studio.

  • Textures y´re best !!! Greetings from Czech !

  • ive seen meshuggah and textures and met all the members of both bands so i can say, textures are influenced by meshuggah if you listen to polars that aint got singing only a little harmonies from back up. they are both mathy and heavy but they both have there own unique style.

  • I don't like happy melodic moments mixed with aggressive rhythm. it just sound inconsistent to me...

  • 1:20

  • 1:54 is totally AWESOME!!!

  • It would take 3 normal drummers playing the same drumset at the same time to match up to what Stef plays

  • No offense to Meshuggah or Textures fans - I'm not avid followers of either (first impressions of Textures is GREAT!!). I think this sounds like if Meshuggah were a little less technical and ran into Devin Townsend down the pub.

    Pretty fucking cool shit.

  • agree. vocalist sounds much like the one from Soilwork.

  • he heas the exact tone as the guy from soilwork. lame.

  • @ForTheLoveOfGod

Well, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, listen to their other material. I really like Speed's vocals, but he can't touch this guy. Listen to songs like Awake or Messengers to see just how good this guy really is; it is a damn shame that he left the band, and his replacement, ex-CiLice has big shoes to fill...

  • @Wattyb2 Dan from Cilice is a great vocalist, screaming is better than this dude IMO, this guy is a great vocalist though. This is my first time checking these guys out, cuz I'm a Cilice fan, and the singer is my fave part. Check them out, great album they put out.

  • @eleventhsun

I know mate, I absolutely love CiLiCe's release and Dan is an amazing singer, but this guy is just insane. I feel like Dan used a LOT of triple and double tracking to get the vocal effects on C's work whereas textures' vocalist did a lot of it "dry." Not saying that either method is better, but I have a feeling that CiLiCe's live show is a bit harder to replicate in the same capacity as Textures [was] able to...

  • @Wattyb2 I totally could see that, as much as he does have an amazing performance, there isn't a doubt in my mind he used many layers on the Deranged Headtrip album. Good point..After listening to Textures a bunch last night, I noticed why they chose Dan, he has a lot of similarities that I didn't notice from only hearing 1 textures song. I'm quite interested to hear what they come up with.

  • Amazing

  • @Swedishfool99 My favorite part is the rather non meshuggah sounding bit from 1:20 - 1:46 or have I just not listened to much meshuggah?

  • if anything it would be lamb of god meets pantera. this sounds nothing like meshuggah. meshuggah is the kind of music you would imagine being elevator music in hell. You know, one of those glass ones that overlooks everything. (in this case, people being tortured and burned alive :P)

  • which is a good thing

  • you don't know MESHUGGAH...you don't know TEXTURES.

  • eerrr...

no way, this is way different than meshuggah , they have a different feeling in their songs, meshuggah are much more rhythmic than melodic. DISHEGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS

  • wut

  • @ilhadosmacacos doing it wrong dumbass

  • The drummer's outstanding. Too bad the others aren't.

  • is the bassist using a four string bass?

  • The bass on this video is ridiculous.lol

  • eric decided to quit Textures :(

damn, he's one of the best!

  • @MajaLifer =(

  • Best of luck to Eric Kalsbeek, one of the greatest Vocalists I've ever seen or heard

  • check out Exivious, members of Cynic and textures, instrumental

  • Not to forget that they r dutch ;) Tilburg :) they rules!!!

  • your opinion purely i may add

  • This is called experimental "avant-garde" metal, the leader of this kind is the swedish band Meshuggah. Textures are much more melodic than meshuggah but they're similar in playing weird tempos and complex song structures. A new metal is born!

  • oh meshuggah can be very melodic as well! its just a little more difficult to understand. whole obzen album was melodic in my opinion

  • This Video is pleasant.

  • indeed

  • It's like Meshuggah, but more listenable

  • i see what you did there

  • And what was that? :p

  • They were released under 'Listeneable' record label, says so at the end lol :P

Should have just played it cool and pretended to kno what i was sayin.

  • Most definitely shoudl have. I'm unfortunately not that cool :p.

And to the person who neg repped my comment, I meant more accessible. I liek Meshuggah.

  • @razzaxxe I find Meshuggah pretty listenable.

  • DJENT

  • DJENT DJENT DJENT

Them Textures djentlemen are just the darndest thing. lotr.

  • a bit boring, specially when they cross over to the softer parts. nothing that pops out and grabs a hold of you, sadly.

  • I´m waiting the new album.

  • where could i get this clip in better quality any1?

  • Three of the best albums in Prog/Death metal - Drawing Circles, obZen and Silhouettes

  • Sorry, but Polars shits all over Drawing Circles and Silhouettes.

  • Not death metal but still grea band

  • You're a sucker even for a Metal elitist loser.

Textures is Prog Metal infusing elements of Death Metal, MathCore and Hardcore.

Nothing you can do about it.

  • You know hardcore...death metal...I THINK NO.

  • Metal-Archives says:

Progressive / Death / Thrash Metal

    Sry, thou loseth

  • they are more like groove metal than thrash metal.

  • Well, including groovy passages yes. Love the groove in State Of Disobedience

  • @Arthemesic Math metal or Tech metal is the right genre to put them in

  • There it is! Hah, so close but so far.

  • they were awesome yesterday, can't wait for their new album

  • are there plans for a new record?

  • yeah man, 2 weeks ago was their last concert in holland and they said they're will record new songs this year.

  • hun waren echt goed live bij breda barst !!

  • saw them live yesterday at Breda Barst, sick ass show!

  • Ze waren goed he?

  • ze waren zeker goed, heb alleen de laatste 3 nummers maar meegekregen toen kwamen we pas aan :( maar die 3 nummers waren zo goed dat ik binnenkort een album van ze ga halen

  • LISTEN TO MNEMIC

  • geweldig nummer!

    groeten aan stef :)

  • Textures is indeed a bit more melodic and less crazy and a bit more accesible, which is why I like them more. Both bands have totally awesome musicians, i just like Textures more. They're a less limited band in terms of musical genre. It's not just techical and crazy stuff with Textures, they also have more poppy like songs and more just 'modern metal' songs, lots of Textures stuff really does not have that much to do with Meshuggah.

    It's definately not a ripoff.

  • Fuck, I love this music, the Meshuggah type bands... most hardcore of all bands period! This band is really good by the way.

  • meshuggah is heavier but textures is uplifting i like meshuggah more some ways like in heaviness but i like textures because tgey can be beautiful

  • amazing like devin townsend meets meshuggah and dillinger escape plan

  • MESHUGGAH RULEZ :PPPPP :DDDD

  • Stop takling shit, meshuggah are fucking awersome, and if you don´t think so, then you haven´t seen they performing.

I think they are diferent styles , Textures is more melodic, Meshuggah is more crazy

  • @Revertemperor lol

more crazy? what the hell does that mean?

  • @Revertemperor fuck yea meshuggah rules and they are original....Thomas Haake is fucken great syncopated drummer and Frederik is a great soloist and i think he improves live

  • @Revertemperor Hmmm, this song does borrow heavily from Future Breed Machine, though.

  • @Revertemperor

    Meshuggah is Hebrew for crazy.

  • @fishakafish It's not hebrew actually, it's a word of yiddish origin. But it doesn't really matter, it indeed means "crazy" which Meshuggah sure is. :)
