What a lot of people don't realize is that Chrysler actually "updated" Mannix's Cuda convertible to have a '72 Cuda grille and tail panel treamtments. I think one or two of em amy have survived. Mopar Collector's Guide did a feature a while back.
Really! How funnny... I would have thought they'd just give the show a new '72 model. I hated the '72 tail lights. The front was at least similar to the '70, but my favorite remains the '71.
Did you ever see Mannix' Dart GTS convertible? That was really nice too.
Yup! The reason they didn't just give the TV show a new '72 Cuda was that Chrysler no longer offered the convertible for '72 and the TV show insisted that Mannix drive around in a convertible. Chrysler wanted folks to see the '72 body changes so they modified the existing cars. Pretty wild huh? I do remember the Dart and I also remember Mopar Collector's Guide doing a feature on it too. I think it had some minor custom body modifications or something like that.
Of those 295 Cuda Convertibles, there were somewhere around a dozen Hemi Cuda Convertibles built. The number changes regularly as more "export" cars are either found or fraudulently built! LOL!
'71 Cuda was the prettiest of the pony cars.
Mannix had a 340 convertible for at least one or two seasons. Great car.

It breaks down like this...
1971 Barracuda Convertible 6 cyl 132
1971 Barracuda Convertible 8 cyl 721
1971 Cuda Convertible 8 cyl 295

If that car exists today in that form it would be worth A LOT...

Thank you Captain Obvious!!! Actually, I'm fairly certain that the car exists pretty much just the way you see it maybe even a little nicer.
